So just an update on things for me personally. My son is still in the NICU, but that's routine for a premie. He's eating really well (like a pig!), and they had him under the lights because he was jaundiced (again completely normal for any baby, but more of a concern for premies). Everything else is normal, and believe me they tested EVERYTHING. As long as he keeps eating and getting rid of waste, we should be able to take him home soon. My wife is sore, but doing well. So I'll try to maintain the one a day post at least, but things have calmed some after the chaos of the birth and getting my son stable and doing well.

I think they're mad that someone had the audacity to call themselves "Lucky" ;)
So noted. When I have to re-roll, I will certainly not make that mistake again...
Radavek Petali |
DM Dr.Evil, I'm sorry. If I'd remembered raging sooner, maybe we could have killed this thing and saved Finn. Work's been busy and I haven't been thinking much about my posts. I've been happy just to get something written at all.
I do hope you'll stay with us.

Sorry for the absence last week. I got floored by a flu bug that kicked my ass. I'm still not completely recovered yet either, just taking out the trash this morning left me winded (granted it was -6 degrees outside, but still!)
GM Crellan |
Sorry about the delay during my vacation, I didn't have access to all my materials and only spotty internet.
Having found the cache, the party will be resting for the night while you wait for the return of Juriendor... we will play that out in the game thread. However, you may all go to level 2.
The game picks back up immediately, however... if anyone has any time that needs to be taken to craft, etc. between levels let me know.
Also, we are without a cleric. Please let me know if anyone has a recommendation to join the campaign as a divine caster at this point, otherwise I can look to recruitiment.
Thanks!

Working on the character now, haven't forgotten. I am getting close to being done with the crunch but I did need to know for sure level and gold to purchase items with.
As for the back story, I may only have a very rough one at first due to the time constraint to avoid slowing you down, but I will get it expanded quickly.

Here is my initial build for the healer, I don't have everything filled out as I am unsure of how you are handling hp after first level, and I am not sure what gold total I have to work with on equipment. I corrected the sheet to account for being level 2 not three (misread their current level for some reason). Going to look back over the discussion thread for the answer to the HP question.
I have it all put in my alias but for ease of viewing:

Aura(Ex) A cleric of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful deity has a particularly powerful aura corresponding to the deity's alignment (see detect evil for details).
Channel Energy (Su) Regardless of alignment, any cleric can release a wave of energy by channeling the power of her faith through her holy (or unholy) symbol. This energy can be used to cause or heal damage, depending on the type of energy channeled and the creatures targeted.
A good cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures. An evil cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures. A neutral cleric of a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric can cast spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting).
Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric's level + the cleric's Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channel energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect.
A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability.
Focused Domain A theologian chooses only one domain from her deity’s portfolio rather than the normal two domains. All level-dependent effects of the granted powers from the theologian’s domain function as if she were two cleric levels higher than her actual cleric level. This does not allow her to gain domain-granted powers earlier than normal. A theologian can prepare domain spells using her non-domain slots. She cannot use her spontaneous casting ability on domain spells, even if they are prepared in non-domain slots.
In all other respects, this works like and replaces the standard cleric domain ability.
Spontaneous Casting A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that she did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).
An evil cleric (or a neutral cleric of an evil deity) can't convert prepared spells to cure spells but can convert them to inflict spells (an inflict spell is one with “inflict” in its name).
A cleric who is neither good nor evil and whose deity is neither good nor evil can convert spells to either cure spells or inflict spells (player's choice). Once the player makes this choice, it cannot be reversed. This choice also determines whether the cleric channels positive or negative energy (see channel energy).
Protection Domain (Defense Sub-Somain) Granted Powers: Your faith is your greatest source of protection, and you can use that faith to defend others. In addition, you receive a +1 resistance bonus on saving throws. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 levels you possess.
Deflection Aura (Su): Once each day, you can emit a 20- foot aura for a number of rounds equal to your cleric level. Allies within the aura gain a +2 deflection bonus to AC and combat maneuver defense.
Aura of Protection (Su): At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura of protection for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. You and your allies within this aura gain a +1 deflection bonus to AC and resistance 5 against all elements (acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic). The deflection bonus increases by +1 for every four cleric levels you possess beyond 8th. At 14th level, the resistance against all elements increases to 10. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
Domain Spells: 1st—shield, 2nd—barkskin, 3rd—protection from energy, 4th—spell immunity, 5th—spell resistance, 6th—antimagic field, 7th—deflection, 8th—mind blank, 9th—prismatic sphere.
Viniana is a friendly person, most of the time, though she is affected with the arrogance and hedonism exhibited by most Taldans she tries her best to mitigate those uglier aspects of her personality finding her faith in Shelyn a great aid to that end. She wears nice clothing and prides herself on looking her best at all times, though she can get distracted when restoring a piece of art or an old manuscript and ruin a perfectly good outfit. She never travels long distance alone, and always tries o have either a horse, or preferably, a carriage for her conveyance.
Despite growing up at the temple, Viniana could never develop much in the way of artistic skills, she could sing, kind of, mostly the hymn's to Shelyn that were se much apart of the faith. Because of this she began to find a passion for the preservation of artistic works and literature as well as developed an interest in history. She became quite proficient at her work and, when a request from a cathedral in the town of Rybalka for someone to come and restore some of the artwork and books, they elected to send Viniana to take care of the work. Rather excited to be traveling, Viniana eagerly accepted and left on her journey. She arrived in the town shortly after her twentieth birthday and began her work, barely disturbed by all the chaos that was going on in the town from the attacks as she works on her project.

Yeah, I saw that about the gold for first, but we're not first anymore so I wasn't sure.
*Edit:
I went ahead and purchased with just the max starting gold, the fully updated character sheet is in the alias.
And I forgot to say thanks for the welcome Radavek.
**Edit Edit:
I have built Viniana to be a superb buffer, and will be relying on spells to deal damage and such. I was half tempted not to take any weapons but I decided that I should, just don't expect them to be used. I hope this build works out well, I guess we'll see. With any luck I will be able to prevent the damage before it occurs with the ac boosts and resistance auras that I get.

Glad it works for you, I did add one thing to her description and equipment just now because I forgot about it when I was building her since I had to rush. She has three pairs of eyeglasses (1 worn and 2 back up pairs) as she is near sighted (spent too much time studying things up close I imagine). They don't come from the approved books but are from the adventurers armory a 5 gp each and no effective weight. I didn't figure it would be a problem but if it is I will do away with them. It's largely an rp schtick.
Just let me know when you are ready for me to start posting.
