Saniana as you begin to climb down you can hear down at the bottom of the hole it sounds like a couple of creatures chattering in a foreign language. As you descend deeper, you notice the cavern splits in two directions.

On the left Three crude, wooden workbenches occupy the center of this room, their tops strewn with various tiny tools, metal and wooden hardware, and blocks of wood and few Mites banging loudly away chattering. (Room R1)

On the right The wet-looking floor of this large cavern is crisscrossed by several shallow trenches, each containing trickles of putrid looking fluid. Six foul mounds of compost and dung lie heaped about the room, each studded with small spherical eggs. (Room R2)

Beorn was distracted with plans to dig a mass grave, or perhaps build a carn for all the bodies strown about. It was not proper to let the bodies of even enemies rot on the ground. And so he was surprised when Saniana scampered down the hole. He rapidly dismounted and prepared a rope so that he could follow. Wait Saniana. He called after her, worry in his tone.

Female Gnome Druid 2 HP 15/15 Init +0 AC 17 (T 11 FF 17) F 4 R 0 W 6 Perception +9 low light vision Goodberries 7/7

Saniana gives the rope a few tugs, a prearranged signal for the others to start down. Once she knows others are on their way down, she continues toward the room from which she hears the conversation. There she waits just out of sight, listening for signs that the mites are alerted to their presence.

Once she hears evidence that they have noticed her or when someone is one move action from the room behind her, she will continue into the room in hopes that she and Dax can deal with the threats before they scamper off to give a general warning.

Saniana you creep up on them, they are pretty distracted, it looks like they using a miniature catapult to fire caltrops into each other's mouth! Though you know it likely doesn't hurt them due to their damage resistance.

Though you slip a little bit and a significant portion of dirt and rubble fall making quite a clatter.

Beorn, you are 40 feet up form Saniana, its pretty easy to use the root system to climb down, its treated like its knotted rope, DC5. Same with Kas, you are also standing at the top of the hole

Saniana, not wanting to alert any other mites, gestures to Dax to get the one to the southwest while she advanced on the other. She attacked with her shillelagh.

Saniana: Shillelagh: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Dax: Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

I doubt those got through the DR, but at least they can't run without risking AOOs.

"Ah! Veils and thorns you two!" Kas looks down worriedly at Beorn's rapid descent and the sounds of San giving battle. "Well, there's nothing for it now, so here goes!"

climb DC 5: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8 15 feet down...woot!

Kas starts to make his way down the knotted rope but quickly realizes he has neither the strength or skill of the younger Erastilian to even try to move quickly, and focuses instead on not falling to an untimely doom in a mite lair.

Saniana and dax dash into the fray, while Beorn shimmies down the roots like they were a pole! He finds it incredibly hard to move around, especially to swing his greataxe in the small confines.

All medium creatures take a -2 to attack while down here :(

The two mites chitter and chatter and laugh as Saniana and Dax seem to tickle them!

They pull out to metal shards that are passing for daggers and try to return the favor!

Dagger vs San: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

Dagger vs Dax: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4

Rosette slings her bow across her back and hops into the hole, sliding down the roots to Join Beorn near the bottom, she goes a little recklessly but ends up making it okay.

Takes 10 to climb down roots, gives her 11 - 5 for fast climb is 6!

"PHew! That was fun," she looks to Beorn winking as she takes in the cramped, small battlefield before her.

M Human (Ulfen) Paladin 2 AC 16/11/15 / HP 19/22 / F +7 R +3 W +5 / Init. +1 / Perc. +6 / Sense Motive +4

I guess its -2 for medium sized creatures regardless of weapon size? Beorn could switch to his cold iron dagger if it made a difference.

Yeah, its just like squeezing would be to much so just a -2 to attack I guess.

M Human (Ulfen) Paladin 2 AC 16/11/15 / HP 19/22 / F +7 R +3 W +5 / Init. +1 / Perc. +6 / Sense Motive +4

M Human (Ulfen) Paladin 2 AC 16/11/15 / HP 19/22 / F +7 R +3 W +5 / Init. +1 / Perc. +6 / Sense Motive +4

Not feeling inclined to let the evil fey flee only to attack the group later and in greater number, Beorn swings at the creature when it exposes itself.

"There goes our surprise. Let's gather our forces and then go after them."

Beorn cuts down the fleeing Mite before it has a chance to regroup with its allies further in the complex. Harrolayne and Rosetta are close enough to the drop down leading to the Hatchery area to see that a single mite and a few giant centipedes are coming for them!

Sorry Harro, you can continue your turn now that I said there is the enemies in the other room. Female Gnome Druid 2 HP 15/15 Init +0 AC 17 (T 11 FF 17) F 4 R 0 W 6 Perception +9 low light vision Goodberries 7/7

I'm a mite confused (pun intended) about the terrain and map. It looks like for Saniana to get to room R2, she would have to climb partway back up to the point where the tunnel splits and goes down again into R2. Is Rosetta able to fire ranged attack at the centipedes from the high side of the grease spell? If so we should just let her work on picking them off. Is there room for others to stand and make ranged attack down into R2?

Saniana can summon 1d3 tiny or smaller animals (was thinking of cats) to attack the centipedes if we want to soften them up before attempting to go toe to hundreds of toes with them.

Human (Taldan) Cleric 2nd AC 14/11/14 / HP 15 / F +5 R +1 W +7 / Init. +0 / Perc. +6* / Sense Motive +7

Kas hesitates at the calamity of hewn mites and oversized vermin approaching to devour them. He sets his quarterstaff in one hand, and readies to protect himself with the Lady's shielding grace if centipedes boil up through the other chamber to attack him.

Readying his shield spell if it comes to a fight erupting in R1, but staying put otherwise

Yeah its a little confusing of a map, I'm just trying to make the most of it without making things tooooooo difficult, ya feel?

Also Beorn, not sure you can chop the bugs unless you want to run past Saniana's grease-y area to get to them first

M Human (Ulfen) Paladin 2 AC 16/11/15 / HP 19/22 / F +7 R +3 W +5 / Init. +1 / Perc. +6 / Sense Motive +4

Ok. The. He will move up to the grease and ready an action to attack the creature when it comes to him.

Saniana moves up to where she can see into the room with the centipides. She begins her summoning spell, which when completed after her standard action next turn, will summon 1d3 cats, which will be around for two rounds. She leaves Dax to watch the passage from the other part of the lair.

"When the mites are away, the cats will play," she says with a gleeful glint in her eye and then begins her summoning spell.

The three mindless centipedes try to scramble up the hill through Harrolayne's grease.

Reflex Saves + 2 DC 16: 3d20 ⇒ (11, 5, 8) = 24

However all three of the Centipedes fall prone! Normally Centipedes can't be tripped but I'm imagine it still working because they have all those legs pumping but its all so greasy they can't make any progress and are slipping and sliding. I figured Grease doesn't make trip checks, it causes creatures to fall sooo tomato - potato

This is a pretty difficult combat area only because of how the weird room configuration and lack of easy doorways. still just two centipedes left, they are pretty easy to kill.
