The game's been reported and the chronicles have been sent.
Brallenera Thalkham |
Awww, thankies for the chronicles.
Just a question about the items: being tier 4-5, can we buy only items in tier 4-5, or are items from the lower tier available too?
GM Chyro |
Anything below your tier is available to you too.

If someone wanst to Gm the new CoCT, I got a character ready. ;-)
I am tempted. I've read thought it so far, but I'll need to re-read it in some detail and maybe after Christmas I'll hopefully have some more time.

Ting Tang |
Ting has only played 'gods mouth heresy'. and 'dragons demand' Ala'Ihys is the only other PFS character that I have played over level one, and you've seen what he has done ;)
I thought that Shonne was going to rejoin us. Should we send her a PM?

*makes puppy eyes at Joseph*
Bought a cloak of protection too
I will say, they've made many changes that I like and a few I'm not certain on, but do work better mechanically and some better art with only one or two exception.
They've also stated characters who don't appear in the adventure, but might appear later on like this CR 25 creature. VERY nasty.
Glad they solved a problem I had when I ran part 1. It was a minor thing, but without spoiling it...they originally forgot to mention a trap-door to another area.

and you said after Christmas breaking into song On the twelfth day of Christmas my true GM gave to me Chapter 1: "Edge of Anarchy" Well, anarchy almost rhymes with me...

I can't find shufar on a search.
Maybe too recently published?
That might be because I spelled it wrong: shofar.
I found the item, it's from a chronicle and normally not available in PFS, but the guy had the chronicle:
The horns of three disparate creatures (chimera, dire ram, and satyr) make up this magical instrument, interlocking into one shofar about 2 feet long. Once per day the horn can be blown to a ect all allies within 30 feet that can hear it. A ected creatures gain sonic resistance 10 and a +2 bonus on saves against spells and e ects that deal sonic damage, are language-dependent, or must be heard to be e ective. This protection lasts for 10 minutes. If a bard uses the horn to start a bardic performance, all e ects of that performance are calculated as if the bard were 6 levels higher. This doesn’t grant the bard access to new bardic performances; it only enhances those to which the bard already has access.
So this level 8 bard was using Weird Words at lvl 14 with 35 rounds of bardic performance.
“At 6th level the bard can start a performance that is always a standard action to speak up to one word per 4 bard levels laden with sonic energy. Each word deals 4d6 points of sonic damage as a ranged touch attack with a range of 30 feet. The bard adds his charisma modifier on damage rolls with weird words. Multiple words that strike the same target stack into a single powerful attack, applying energy resistance and bonuses on damage rolls only once. The bard can target all words at the same or different targets, but he unleashes all words simultaneously. Each word costs 1 round of bardic performance.”
So that gives him 3 words at 4d6 each+CHR per target. Let's assume a 20 charisma, that's an average of 35 points per round. Probably a little less given you still have to make a ranged touch attack. But when he'd target one NPC, he'd roll 12d6+7. All energy. That is not trivial damage and almost alarming (pun intended) to come from a bard.
Even more impressive is that he was buffing us with Inspire and Good Hope, giving us all +5 / +5 in combat. I think we could have taken Arodeth down had we been forced to.
GM Chyro |
Well...that's no small thing to pull off. :o
Ting Tang |
Well...that's no small thing to pull off. :o
actually there not that big or at least the rams horn ones aren't, the ones make from antelope horns are a bit bigger... ;b
GM Chyro |
So.....
I've noticed Shonne is still occupied, and currently a lvl ahead, if not more when she finishes with her current game.
I don't know about Las, but i will PM Inkita, who hasn't yet played the next mission.
GM Chyro |
I got a PM back from Inkita, she's in a gameday V game.
Too bad.
Ting Tang |
Are any of them coming back ever? Or is it too early to tell? If they were coming back we could put out a recruitment for just this scenario, but if none of them are returning the we need someone for the whole thing.
GM Chyro |
I don't know how long it'll take for Inkita.
I'll send a PM to ask what time span she thinks it will take, otherwise we might as well recruit another.
The thing as a whole might be trickier, i think, but we'll see.

that reminds me, I'll need to speak to this game Dev. He's trying to make a game running on 5e system rules, but it's a 3D game where you can create your own campaigns on characters for campaigns and ect. Shame it wasn't pfsrd instead :p
GM Chyro |
Inkita responded, and she said better to recruit another.
Their game has slowed down, and her guess is they are but half way.
GM Chyro |
What will you be looking for?
Brallenera & Ting have got the front line and traps covered.
J/J has the arcane spells.
A divine caster, would be my suggestion, unless you have a different preference.
Ting Tang |
I would be satisfied with divine or arcane, Joseph can waive a wand for clw, if need be. The trick is to find someone who can and will play, you know someone who will post and do something when they post, more often than not.
GM Chyro |
Okay guys, Melvwara looks like our ideal candidate.
I would just like to ask, would you prefer she run the cleric pregen for a few missions, or as she is now?
Ting Tang |
I really have no preference, but since Joseph, as a bard, is our only caster; would he prefer to lean toward arcane casting or divine casting? Whichever direction he would prefer leaning I would have her play the opposite, that way she doesn't cramp his style.
GM Chyro |
For the time being, the oracle is joining the team, that should give him space for the next number of missions.
Carr |
Yes, Carr will be joining you. Carr is a warsighted oracle, with battle mystery. As such he tends to stand in the thick of things and hit things with a sword. He still has the full suite of healing magics, but is just more active with his sword which happens to have a fun stamp with the glyph of the open road on it.
I had been planning to get it upgraded to Aspis Bane but working in scenario 0/1's, their appearance seems unlikely.
Carr |
I also like that I have a barbarian in the group, as I plan to take my next two levels in that class... for no reason in particular... totally not aiming myself towards any certain prestige class.
GM Chyro |
(It's to make up for the movement impairment)
:)
Carr |
(It's actually to go Rage Prophet, one of the very few prestige classes that I like.) But no joke, that movement impairment hurts. I'm like a halfling trying to keep up with the rest of the group. I feel like the kid in A Christmas Story. "You guys, wait up!"
GM Chyro |
I've recently started playing in a strange aeons AP.
Gnome paladin...and given speed, she's wearing ligh armor atm, somewhere in the future she's either got to take the mount, or take a lvl in bloodrager.
Carr |
I have a bloodrager going Dragon Disciple. People say that's a good option, the Bloodrager / Paladin / DD or Sorc / Paladin / DD. I just want a dragon. :) I have my Aasimar, my Tiefling, my Wayang if I want it, what I really want is a kobold. :( I want my tiny little evil (obviously not allowed, but still) kobold sorcerer to wield awesome powers. I want him to fume with all the anger and impotent rage of Viserys Targaryen. Or perhaps Veigar. "I am evil, stop laughing!"
But alas, that seems about as unlikely as they come. I've given away so many race boons... I really do run too many cons. They want to add another 1 or 2 to my area, too... it's like "WE DON'T HAVE THE PLAYER BASE!"
Carr |
Are we just going to sort of... not do this? I don't mean to be throwing a wrench anywhere, but it seems like Ting Ting won't follow the premise and the rest of us are content also to not blindly follow this jerk.
GM Chyro |
I'm unsure how this will proceed.
I can't speak for Julia/Joseph, but i've got the feeling where the other two are aiming for.
How the situation goes from here is in their hands.
Ting Tang |
Are we just going to sort of... not do this? I don't mean to be throwing a wrench anywhere, but it seems like Ting Ting won't follow the premise and the rest of us are content also to not blindly follow this jerk.
follow which premise?
Ting Tang |
So after were done talking, before we leave or pay him, we should check the body of the dead guy, there may be some clues?
If we don't pay or don't fight are we going to take the body to 'speak with the dead'? Or are we going to look for more clues elsewhere, does the dead guy have a place of business? Or should we follow Torch?
Tings not set on a fight, I asked about the init. and the map to try and learn how important this scene is; more than to actually start a fight.
I have several ideas but I have no "brilliant" solution to this, I know it slows things down to talk about it in discussion but what do you all want to do?
I have trouble believing that the only two options are pay 3,000 gp. or fight him in a public building where we have to attack him. Do we just promise a favor and move on?
Carr |
Ooc spoiler, the favor is owed, it's the lead in for a later scenario. So we technically already accepted temporally.
Ting Tang |
thanks, I assumed something like that when there was no combat map for the bathhouse. So who wants to eat humble pie, after we talk to Brallenera? Carr can or Ting can, of course if ting does it may be fairly colorful and need an ooc for GM Chyro ;)
I figure since he has an int. of 7 and a cha of 7 that practically incomprehensible is about right ;)
Carr |
Carr is not the most tactful, but he can eat crow. And as the newest member, it would be easier. I hope J/J is okay.
Carr |
Well I mean he is tasty, but... I was more referring to the expression of having to reverse one's position once stated, an unpalatable action to be sure.
Ting Tang |
Well I mean he is tasty, but...
Don't you believe him, that's a vicious rumor started by cows so people would eat less beef!
idioms...
If you want to Carr if not Ting will, or he will support you.
GM Chyro |
So..... what's it going to be, guys?
We can get on with the:
* Paying him
* Agreeing to the favor for an indebted favor
* Or...your initial impulse, to attack him for information.
(Rather looking at Brallenera and Ting Tang)
Ting Tang |
* Or...your initial impulse, to attack him for information.
hey in tings defense he is a glorified crow...er rook...er raven... frankly were not sure what he is, well, violent he is violent...
GM Chyro |
What's this about patience, you're flinging at me?
I recall the strategy planning vs a certain host devil took over a week. :)
