Alathos Nevben |
Do we know which way to go? Should I make a survival check to avoid getting lost, or would you like to roll it in secret? If so I have a +14
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"We have so enjoyed the walk along this gentile path, perhaps we should take both paths and then teleport that way I can know all three options for the story I will never write about this adventure."
"Teleportation is strong magic, might we later need it to get away from said keep?"
"Like the old adage out of the frying pan and into the fire?"
Alathos Nevben |
"I think we should save the teleport. Let's continue this way."
Alathos then heads down the more traveled road.
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"That was how I had seen it working yes, obviously not the parts you grab with but the parts that might get grabbed. I guess I need to be able to tell which parts are which on your form....."
Salrann |
"Ah, I think I follow you now. I grab with thesssssse... " Salrann opens her mouth wide and shows her sharp fangs. "And then I can wrap them up with my tail... "
Still not totally understanding your original question, though!
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"Thanks that helps."
It was an RP thing not a true mechanical thing as far as what grease does when one is trying to avoid being grappled. So no real "question" in the question.....
GM Choon |
The dense foliage of the jungle canopy rustles as though hundreds of massive creatures were moving rapidly through the high branches. The hoots and hollers of bloodthirsty otherworldly creatures fill the thick, humid air, and the metallic scent of blood is overwhelming.
A pack of baregaras -blood-colored demonic gorillas with long twisted horns and exposed hearts beneath their sinewy rib cages- hunts this portion of the jungle, and a trio of the beasts drops from the trees
in ambush! Magic bursts from them as they appear!
Eden, Slarann, Alathos all make a DC 17 will save vs Hold Person.
They roar out a challenge to Alathos, Salrann and Chu'ko!
3d20 ⇒ (20, 11, 14) = 45
All three of you are now Demoralized as per the Intimidate skill, -2 to all rolls
Party up!
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"A pack of brawny beasts. I bet they are easily confused."
Chu'ko casts confusion in a 15 burst that catches as many of them as possible in an area of effect.....
Will save DC 18...or be confused 15 rounds
Salrann |
If there are no trees or foliage in her way, Salrann will charge the nearest baregara, otherwise she'll just move forward to it, and in either case will bite-grab at it.
bite: 1d20 + 24 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 24 - 2 = 30 (add +2 if able to charge)
damage: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 plus bleed: 1d4 ⇒ 1 plus venom DC 19 Fort or 1 Con damage/round for 6 rounds) plus grapple: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (3) + 28 = 31
GM Choon |
Eden contemplates her options.
14d20 ⇒ (18, 4, 20, 12, 17, 13, 6, 17, 5, 8, 2, 13, 3, 6) = 144
The beast shakes off Chu'ko's spell.
Salraan tears into the right foe who attempts to tear at her right back and has some moderate success. It's rib cage snaps and tears at her unsuccessfully as it does at alathos. It even manages to get a hit in on the normally impervious inquisitor. The third, in the back casts a spell on Salraan, then casts a second on Chu'ko!
2d8 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Salrann takes 7, Alathos takes 6
Salraan, DC 17 will vs Hold Person.
Chu'ko, DC 17 will vs. Unholy Blight for 5d8 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 2, 6) = 18= 9
Party up
Eden Kenway |
After careful contemplation, Eden decides to fly closer to the battlefield and assist Alathos. With a snap of her fingers, she quickly conjures up a pool of slippery liquid beneath its feet. She hopes that it takes. It has been a whole since a Level 1 spell has done her any good.
After flying closer, Eden casts Grease on the leftmost baregara. It needs to make a DC 20 reflex save or fall flat on its face. Spell resistance does not apply. She would be about twenty feet in the air.
Alathos Nevben |
Alathos will 5-foot-step up to the greased pig Baregara, activate bane (evil outsider), and attack.
attack: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (2) + 29 = 31
damage: 1d8 + 15 + 4d6 ⇒ (2) + 15 + (1, 4, 6, 1) = 29

Chu'ko Buzenbo |
Will save 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
"Come then mad monkeys an dance, with the organ grinder!"
As one moves forward the tengu launches an all out asualt on the beast with his elven curve blade!
Full Attack Elven Curve blade

1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 291d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Eden Kenway |
Seeing Salrann about to take a beating, Eden decides to deep freeze the middle Baregara to help her ally.
SR: 1d20 + 15 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 15 + 4 + 2 = 25
Casting Icy Prison on the middle space ape. It needs to be make a DC 24 reflex save.
GM Choon |
1d20 ⇒ 15
To Eden's horror, the Baregara shakes off her spell!
On the left, the beast attempts to rise from the ground Provoking an AoO
6d20 ⇒ (10, 10, 7, 17, 3, 1) = 48 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
It gets another hit on the normally impervious Inquisitor, but fails to pull him into its gnashing ribcage. You take 18
On the right, things are going pear shaped rather quickly.
Salrann, you do get another save to shake off the hold this round.
9d20 ⇒ (8, 18, 13, 19, 2, 7, 11, 20, 14) = 112
Chu'ko rushes in to help Salrann like a hero from the songs. The Baregara turns to face him. His attacks practically bounce off the rough skin of the demon. Its mouth and rib cage pull back into terrifying mockeries of smiles before Chu'ko is savagely attacked. The first misses the nimble Thunder Caller, then the beast adjusts something and its attacks become nigh unavoidable. in all, four attacks hit, the last being a humiliating headbutt straight into the ground.
Chu'ko takes: 2d10 + 16 + 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (7, 7) + 16 + (1, 2) + 16 = 49
Salraan could take: 2d10 + 16 + 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (8, 7) + 16 + (3, 4) + 12 = 50
See discussion for Salrann
Party up.
Alathos Nevben |
Alathos' 14 temp HP is depleted, eating into the inquisitor's Normal hit point pool... (89/93)
He retaliates.
attack: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (17) + 29 = 46
confirm: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (6) + 29 = 35
damage: 1d8 + 15 + 4d6 ⇒ (5) + 15 + (1, 3, 2, 3) = 29

damage: 1d8 + 15 + 4d6 ⇒ (8) + 15 + (6, 1, 3, 3) = 36
Salrann |
Will: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 HA! Obviously Salrann was not meant to die.
Just as the monster is about to rip off Salrann's head, she awakens from the stupor she was put under and dodges out of the way. The beast still does a ton of damage to her, though. She then lays into the beast herself, hoping to grapple and pin it.
Grapple flurry: 1d20 + 30 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 30 + 4 = 48
Grapple swift: 1d20 + 28 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 28 + 4 = 34
unarmed flurry 1: 1d20 + 22 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 22 + 4 = 45 damage: 1d6 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 = 18 plus bleed: 1d4 ⇒ 3 plus venom DC 19 Fort or 1 Con damage per round for 6 rounds[/dice]

[ooc]Looks like she grapples it but does not pin it yet. It'll need two DC 19 Fort saves against the venom.
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"I fear these beasts may end us."
Chuko realizes there is no hope in casting a normal spell with this beast on top of him, he tries to dance the song and the steps of the Elven spellsingers....into a waiting dimensional door....
then he recalls the dimensional door for everyone and he fights full defense and casts bards escape to move everyone away simultaneously!!!!
GM Choon |
Before revenge can be fully brought against the baregaras Chuko recognizes the danger and pulls the party out of the situation, but not very far. You separated from the monsters by sine thin vegetation and that's about it.
Stealth checks to remain hidden please. What do you do, retreat or counter attack?
Alathos Nevben |
Alathos casts telepathic bond, so that the group may talk unheard.
Then hides in the bushes.
stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33
"How are you all? I will distract them as long as I can so that you can heal and ready. If we should decide to retreat, however, just say the word."
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
via telepathy
"Nay the beasts have bested us, it was only an ancient and powerful trick of the blade singers that allowed me to moved us all here. I can not do it again this day, and I am wounded sorely. Eden I had hoped could move us further."
Stealth....take 10?, 20?
1d20 + 26 ⇒ (16) + 26 = 42
GM Choon |
As you recover, the beats sniff the air and growl. After a few minutes they realize that their prey had escaped and wail as they retreat into the demon forest.
Moments later one of your succubus observers floats down on her interstellar steed and smiles a sexy smile.
Many don't make it this far. I admit, watching you persevere has been... Stimulating. However, I have received word that the Insatiable Queen has granted your request for an audience. If you would follow me.
She leads you down the road toward the reporting spots of the demons nest from her steed. Even though the fortress looks nearby the trip is still over ten miles long and the site towers over you when you finally arrive.
As you travel, you contemplate your failure to overcome the demon apes and find you've learned quite a bit about yourselves since you exited the Tomb of the Iron Madeusa.
DING! Please advance to level 16!
Chu'ko Buzenbo |
"Aye well had you mentioned you just needed a bit of gardening and exercise for your guard dogs we would have certainly agreed, thank you for hosting us."
Wow! My first 6th level bard spell selection...This will take some thought....
GM Choon |
The succubus leads you to the doors of the Dominax Annuli, her name for the castle you've been trying to reach. The doors are strong and shine like silver in the light of Golarion above you. She gentures you inside. Welome. Please make yourselves comfortable. My Lady will be with you shortly.
The metal door to the shrine is unlocked, a particularly welcoming surprise. The first room you enter has "Shrine of Rest and Fulfillment" engraved over the door. Inside the black lunar glass and porphyry interior walls are draped in erotic tapestries and paintings. Suggestive statues of black lunar stone abound, and the heady scent of highest quality frankincense fills the air. Sumptuous pillows and veiled mattresses are scattered about the shrine, painting the perfect picture of an exotic pleasure den. Iconography of Shelyn abounds here and you are hastily greeted by a man and a woman wearing simple sheer shifts. The greet you enthusiasticly.
Welcome! Welcome to this house of Shelyn! The woman says
Please, take off your burdens. Rest your feet. implores the man.

Kn.Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Alathos Kn.Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
LOL... neither of them have any clue that Shelyn would have nothing to do with succubi...
