Bubbles Beeshee |
Bubbles floats by, eager to please the natives. Perhaps they DO want to join our host. He takes a look at the vehicles, to see if they are familiar.
Pilot, aid: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Alas, he has no experience with these ancient machines. Better stick to the air, where I belong.
Gordon Bleu |
Gordon is also interested in the racers. "I am not very familiar with electrical engines but at the end of the day a racer is not really interested what kind of power but how fast it goes and how you turn corners"
pilot: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
45 X |
”Shell, show them what a truly automated pilot can do!”
45 X has some how been drawn into this racing thing. He is uncomfortable but very adament that an android would always be the best kind of pilot. And if not at least a halfing would be better than fulling.
”...and as a backup go go Gordon!”
Shelldrake |
Shelldrake looks over the vehicles and goes over what could be converted and what might stay carbon fuel based. "Did you know on Absalom Station, not too far a journey by spacecraft from here, they have some amazing junkbike races? I think your people would do just fine on that ratrod circuit... perhaps we can take a delegation from your tribe for a tour?"
When things have warmed up - "We know you hold that site as special, but we do need to have a look and ensure it is safe - can you help us?"
GM_CariMac |
The locals are very excited to learn about converting their bikes. They listen closely as Shell suggests the might be able to travel doing what they love.
At Shelldrake's question about the outpost they share more information. "The outpost is haunted and shoots fire at anyone that approaches it. There is an exiled member of the village that has gone there. She uses magic that isn't allowed. They have powers that they believe would cause the to become a whelp."
"Please do not antagonize the exile. She's dangerous, but we will tell you how to locate the outpost." They give you the directions.
Do you wish to do anything more in the village or are you ready to head out to the outpost?
Bubbles Beeshee |
Dangerous exile. Sounds like another day in the Society. This one may not wish to become a member of the Host. This one may just want to fight. Bubbles spins and extends a tentacle towards the edge of the village. "Thank you for your help. We will keep watch for the fire and the exile on our journey."
Gordon Bleu |
But I want to race "Yeah lets go see the wizard"
GM_CariMac |
As you start out of town several adolescents and a couple of younger adults roar out of town toward you on their racers. The smile and wave for you all to climb on the back of their rigs.
They laugh as you take off toward the outpost flying across the dry plains of the planet.
As you get closer to the outpost the racer's stop, and let you know they can't or won't go any further. The storm that blocked your ships sensors is right in front of you. The locals wave as they drive off back toward the village.
The storm appears to be right in front of you, and the directions to the outpost say to head into the heart of the storm.
As you enter the storm small bits of Falling Stars reigns down on the party requiring a strong Fortitude to avoid being damaged. The winds are strong inside the storm. (–2 penalty to non-energy ranged weapon attack rolls)

The tempest is at its strongest here, near the eye of the storm. You come across dilapidated circular buildings that dot the landscape. If you look at some of the larger chunks of rubble and debris you can see images of butterflies painted on what you are sure were beautiful frescoes, and artwork. A tumultuous storm rages all around, strong and fierce, without any sign of slowing down. A crumbling stone bridge crosses a broad gorge, offering a pathway directly into the heart of the turmoil.
The constant battering of the storm devastated the buildings, reducing them to little more than ruins. The bridge is severely damaged and is in danger of collapsing.
If you make the check you can move at half speed across the bridge.
Every round, you are in the area you must succeed at a DC 10 Fortitude save or take 1 point of meteor piercing damage. Moving cautiously at half speed grants a +2 bonus to saves made to resist the storm. Creatures in the circular building areas receive a +5 bonus to the Fortitude save due to the shelter the blasted walls provide.
The red-reef structures on the map are scrubby brush and count as difficult terrain.
I don't want to slow us down too much. Why doesen't everyone give me actions for three rounds, and let's see where we get. Then we can move on to more rounds after that. Don't worry about enemies jumping out at you. They have all fled the storm.

45X Takes damage as their fortitude just isn't up to the task of avoiding the small stinging pieces of meteor that are flying around in the storm. The storm isn't abating, but most of you have found shelter in a large destroyed building. The remains make it even clearer that this was an outpost dedicated to the Church of Desna. You can see butterfly motif's painted on what remains of the floor.

The storm finally blows itself out. The wind dies down and the meteors finally stop falling from the sky.
Gordon notices something as he approaches the large ruin. A body lies still inside the remains of this decaying structure. Rubble pins the body’s feet to the ground. Yes you have time for a rest. Where the villager is trapped is a great place.
Gordon manages to rescue the villager from the debris, and Bubble assists with healing. The villager wakes up and is very grateful for your assistance.
"I got trapped here when some rocks fell during the storm. I ran out of food three days ago. Thank you for your help." He hands over the items he found while exploring out of gratitude for freeing and healing him.
The pack contains, a trailblazer fusion seal (4th) and mk 1 ring of resistance. Along with these items, he also provides a stash of gems worth 750 credits.
Bubbles Beeshee |
"Do you know anything about the outpost which shoots fire? " Bubbles floats up and down as his tentacle retracts. " Its ok. We're friends. "
GM_CariMac |
"It's further in that direction." He points in a south western direction. "I didn't go there myself. Too dangerous."
You make your way to the outpost. It's is a large fabricated building that has mostly stood against the storms. There are several domes connected by hallways. It's doors are covered with the symbol of Desna.
The door to the west sits halfway open, leading inside. You peer inside the western door before you enter. Debris litters the floor of this otherwise empty chamber. The floor paneling has been ripped up in several areas, revealing the same ground as the exterior. The doors to the north and south remain securely closed.
Map has been updated. What do you do?

Gordon opens the southern door to find rows of greenery line the southern and northern spaces of this fifty-foot-wide circular chamber. Curved plastic walls lead up to a transparent ceiling, partially obscured by chunks of random debris atop it but still clear enough to admit sunlight. Doors exit the area to the north and east.
The greenery is food such as tomatoes, root vegetables, and some herbs.
