Gobbo!

Sorry for the delay all. Work is being especially hard on me this week.

To answer the question, no, you cannot cast spells while raging. Per the SRD, To cast a spell, you must be able to speak (if the spell has a verbal component), gesture (if it has a somatic component), and manipulate the material components or focus (if any). Additionally, you must concentrate to cast a spell.

Gizsmith and Jaghal both draw upon their own inner might, trying what they can to help free their grappled companions. With the aid of the wizard and the godling, both Corentin and Sasha manage to free themselves of their bonds, although the effort takes far more time for the halfling covered in magical grease. Corentin lashes out with his morningstar, landing two solid hits on the ooze. The invisible forces surrounding the cavalier whip around him and rip the remaining portions of ooze into tiny bits, causing the formless creature to shudder once before collapsing into a puddle at the man's feet. From behind the halfling Szacha slams his bardiche into the slime, driving it back slightly with a massive hit.

For the record, you can't crit an ooze :)

The remaining ooze, as mindless as such a thing can be, continues to thrash and flail against the hunter, hoping to make her into a quick snack. The slick coating covering the Sasha acts as some sort of protective barrier, causing the creature's attack to glance off of her armor as it attempts to connect, leaving her unharmed.

The party is up!

Thanks for the clarification!

Szacha remains focused on getting Sacha out of trouble, and he continues to bolster his companions as he slams his bardiche once again in the ooze: "It dies easy! Slam it, slam it down!" he roars brfore striking and shifting his position, exposing himself, but also letting the spirits roaring around him have a go.

Sometimes during your life you wonder how didn't you think of something like that before...

Jaghal transfers some more life force to Corentin and Sasha, bringing them to full health, while still attacking the creature to kill-steal it! He was about to shout something but shuts his mouth before calling spoiling all their plans of secrecy.

Sasha and Corentin heal 5more HP each, bringing them to full, I believe.

Sacha, the raging song would provide you with an extra attack.

Gobbo!

Complete murder of the remaining ooze, the poor thing!

Szacha swings his bardiche around again, slamming the weapon into the slime and ripping off a sizable portion of its body, followed by Corentin, Sasha, and Jaghal all tearing at the creature and reducing it to a small puddle of sticky substance which stops moving. The sudden silence is eerie for a moment, when above there is a noise, and the light streaming in from the hole in the ceiling suddenly goes dark, replaced with a very large eye as something appears to be looking down into the hole from above...

Bad enough you lot got us mucking out your damn privy but then our rope goes and falls in and a couple of acid blobs decide to try and make a meal of us. How about you lower a rope or ladder or something so we can get out of here and go back to watching our clans kowtowing to whatever Grenseldek tells us to do?"

Jaghal does not freaking understand Corentin! Does he really think that it would work?? Jaghal hesitated for just a second, pondering about the possibility of letting that come along, just for the fun of finding out if the enemy could be that stupid, but the spell came out of his mouth almost automatically, since he's been ready to use it since they approached the fort.

He pointed a finger to the creature and spoke in orcish. "Freeze!"
DC 16 Will Save or be paralyzed and helpless until the others hopefully slay it.

Szacha casts a glare at Jaghal, then swiftly hums a charming tune as he calls up in Giant: "As Grenseldek ordered. Friend! Lend us a hand. We've just cleaned the latrine and your hairy but is now safe from the acid sting of these puddles!"

Cast Charm Person, DC 14.
Diplo if needed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Gobbo!

Edit: Nevermind, followed the link. Hold Person. Gotcha

Corentin begins to explain the meaning of a group of humans and small-folk playing around in the septic areas when Jaghal and Szacha react quickly, each casting their own magics towards the massive eye peering at them through the hole in the ceiling.

The large eye blinks several times before freezing still. Measuring the span of time in heartbeats, the party must quickly decide what to do.

Since the Hole Person spell lasts rounds, with a breakout attempt each round, we are in semi-initiative. Each party member can take a move and standard action in each post.

Szacha looks for a way to climb out or get out, hoping for the skeptic giant to keep looking down the septic hole.

Jaghal is all the imperative today, brief but powerful. After all, in situations like this one had to be awesome and use what they had in hand, and Jaghal knew they would need someone up there to lend them a hand, but it would be better if the enemy was dead before it. "Corentin, go! Levitate!" He immediately moves the cavalier up to reach the ogre/orc/giant/something.

Using Levitate on him.

Jaghal quickly intones a chant, causing Corentin to quickly rise into the air towards the hole in the ceiling. The cavalier carefully lines up a strike with his enchanted morning star, swinging with as much might as he can muster and connecting directly with the paralyzed creature's eye. Blood and brain matter spray forth from the wound and onto the man followed by a heavy thud of the concealed creature hitting the floor above the party.

Continuing to rise up out of the filth pit, Corentin grabs the edge of the hole and pulls himself into the room. Looking about for any immediate threat and not finding one I'm assuming our dead friend didn't bring anyone into the privy with him he pulls out a rope and knots it before tying it off to the giants leg and lowering it into the hole for his companions to climb.

Gobbo!

Map revealed to show Corentin's position. You will need to scroll a considerable amount to the north to see it.

Alternating tiles of pale blue and white, several of which are cracked or missing, cover the walls and floor of this circular chamber. An open hole gapes in the center of the floor. The cavalier drops a knotted rope down the hole and stands in wait as his companions begin the climb upward. The only other feature of note in the room is a pair of large double doors leading out, which are currently closed.

As he sets his armor and other gear the cavalier says, "Well my friends is seems Desna smiles on our efforts. We stand within the heart of our foes fortress, unseen and in good strength. I don't know if we'll pass back beyond these walls but our foe is near and I am filled with hope that we will see our impossible mission through to it's end. It is, and has been, an honor to stand with all of you and regardless of the outcome I can not think of a finer group of friends to face the challenge ahead with." He pauses and offers his hand to each in turn before continuing. "Stealth has served us well so far and may do so for a bit longer. Our best chance however is to Grenseldek quickly and hopefully with few companions. Any thoughts on how to do so?"

Giz scans the creature with detect magic and briefly considers taking a toe for future alchemical concoctions.

I'm out of invisibilities. I can probably use some silent images to give us things to hide behind, but that is about it. Kinda need to interrogate someone for info unless we want to wander around.

Szacha makes it out of the hole with ease, then lets a very low whistle: "Look at the size of this one!"

As Corentin makes his speech, he nods solemnly his sincere approval, beaming at his companions: "We are Trunau. But let's keep our secret until it's too late for them! I'm no good at hiding though... Got any suggestions on how we can stay out of sight?"

Gobbo!

You can tell by where you entered on your map and the movement vertically that you are definitely inside the keep. You aren't sure where the door will lead, but based on the architecture you'd assume it does not lead outdoors.

Szacha looks at Jaghal, wondering if the Gnome has a trick up his sleeve: "What do you mean? If we get spotted, that's it, we're likely to get the whole fort down on us. We need to get as deep as possible without they're on to us. If we go out those doors now, we might not get far. On the other hand, if we climb back down, spend the night- I know, I know, I can smell too, but if we spend the night in the hole, then tomorrow, we can roam invisible..." he offers.

Looking at the giant corpse beside them Corentin notes, "Someone will miss our friend here sooner or later so it's probably best we push on. If we have no better way of locating Grenseldek than to search about then we should get to it. It will come to combat sooner or later but at least we're in the keep." Cocking his head to the side as an idea comes to him he adds, "If we do happen upon the main keep doors we could probably bar them to stop, or at least slow, reinforcements from the outside."

"Shall we see what awaits us outside?"

Unless there's another thought I'd say we start exploring.

"Ok then, but if we spot one, let's try to fool it first. Giants are gullible, no? I mean, they're so big they have to be dumb as bells, right?"

Gobbo!

Once the group is gathered and a plan is set, the cavalier opens the door quietly, taking a peek into the chamber beyond. Obviously in some sort of hallway of the inner keep, he spots a door roughly fifteen feet to the north as well as a pair of double doors fifteen feet to the east. The walls are dirty and covered in grime and the floor is covered in well packed earth and filth. Obviously the current inhabitants of the keep are not overly concerned with keeping the place looking nice. Piles of rags and debris are gathered into the various corners and several small rodents can be seen darting between the garbage strewn about the corridor.

"Sacha should probably scout ahead..." offers Szacha.

If Sasha give the ok he'll lead through the double doors

Gobbo!

Neither door is locked, proceeding with the double doors as noted.

This large, open chamber has been thoroughly gutted. Where smaller rooms once divided this hall, only the remnants of former walls remain, leaving exposed joists jutting from the stone walls like branches. Crude pallets and piles of smelly furs and moldy straw lie on the floor and the air is thick with buzzing flies. As the door comes to a stop, the cavalier notes the other notable details of this massive chamber, namely two giants currently stooping to keep from slamming their heads against the ten foot high ceilings. The giants turn, eyes suddenly widening at the appearance of the party, and they rush to attack!

For mechanics purposes, this entire room is treated as difficult terrain for anyone medium sized or smaller, due to the rubble throughout the room from the demolition of the original internal walls.

Jaghal moves after the party, too slow for Sasha's own good, since he should have gone there before the girl. After all, he was better protected, but he guessed she would have to handle it on her own now that she would be targeted anyway. Or maybe not! Since Corentin and Szacha were attacking the other giant, it would probably not last much time. All he needed was to prevent the other from hurting his halfling partner, thus he pointed a finger to the giant, threatening to end his life! "Freeze!"

Hold Person DC 16 will save on the enemy Sasha is at. 3/6 2nd level spells remaining.
