GM Captain Trips |
Hanz and Quarick have been removed from the game due to inactivity. I am currently working on replacements. If anyone has suggestions, let me know.
As Tsura's last post was Wednesday, she has until today to post as well.
I am hoping to find some people with a more regular posting frequency. Waiting for folks to post is a killer in PbP.
While I work on that we will proceed as best we can.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Sounds good, Trips! Looking forward to continuing on. :)
Elxurian |
I would have asked them to take the orc away from here, but hey, we need all the help we can gather...
They can still take the deceased bodies to somewhere safe, right? Is it possible to stop the process and let them rest? (aside from cutting the head off, I mean)
GM Captain Trips |
OOC someone needs to do the right thing and get the orc back to consciousness, mainly because the player is likely ready to jump in and help. :)
Elxurian knows that with the proper rites a body that is turning undead can be sanctified and cured of the condition, allowing for a proper burial. That would require consecrate though, so you'd need to look to a priest of one of the local churches. Burning a body is usually considered a proper burial as well, by local traditions.

Hey guys,
I have drill this weekend so that means sparser posting, and then only in the evenings from my laptop in the hotel.
Thanks!
F. Castor |
I will be leaving later today for some much needed vacation. I will be gone for about a week give or take and the place I am going to has... well, let us call it less than stellar internet. I will try to post from my phone, but if I seem to be holding up the action and/or story, please DMPC my character.
Ausk the Heathenbane |
The GM posted in another of his games...perhaps he is waiting on something from us?
GM Captain Trips |
Posting this to all of my games. Starting this weekend I will be incommunicado until August 3rd with GenCon preparations and attendance. While I may do sporadic updates to some of my games during this time the expectation should be that I will be completely out of the loop. I will make it a point to finish up any ongoing combat before that time and I encourage you all to RP among yourselves in my absence. I will likely be reading all my threads each morning before heading off to the convention and will be following posts and trying to reply when possible.
If any of you are going to the convention as well, shoot me a PM and we will try to link up at some point, if only just to meet and say hello! :)

Wish I was going this year, but PaizoCon was my big trip for the year. Have a great time!!
GM Captain Trips |
Heads up for everyone. I'm back from GenCon and it was a blast. However, I'm turning in my two weeks notice today at my current employer. They have a habit of immediately cutting access to the network for outgoing IT staff, which means I will likely be out of the loop in the mornings.
What this means going forward is until I am settled in my new position and have a better understanding of how much leeway I will have for posting, I will be posting now in the evenings as opposed to the mornings and during the day. I'll be catching up with my PbP games tonight and hopefully will have a bit more info then.
Thanks!
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
No problem, thanks for letting us know, and I'm glad GenCon went well!
Tsura Vhiski |
Hey guys.
I was involved in a motor vehicle collision this morning. My car was rear-ended and then pushed into the rear of the car ahead of me at about 40 mph. The local hospital says I have whiplash, a lumbar sprain, and a concussion. It took me about 5 minutes to write this. I will post tomorrow after a good night's sleep. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Sorry to hear that, Tsura, and I hope you feel much better. Whiplash won't start really hitting you for a couple days, so... you have that to look forward to, unfortunately. Get better soon!
GM Captain Trips |
Working my way through my games, and I apologize for the long delay. As I mentioned last week I am, or was, going through a transition between jobs. The last week and a half have been a mess of me trying to bring everyone up to speed and dealing with the sudden mad rush of shopping and parties for my soon to be born grandson. Well, grandson in the step sense, since this is my wife's son's child. But that still makes me a grandpa at 42 I guess :)
Anyway, I decided yesterday that I was going to stick with my current employer, and hopefully things will level out soon. Bear with me, I'm trying to get back into the rhythm for posting from pre-Gencon. Just so much happening all at once has left me in a bit of a chaotic mess. :)
On a side note, I hope you have a speedy recovery Tsura. I've been in your shoes, and it was not fun.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Great to hear you're at least moving around! Take it slow and get better soon!
Ausk the Heathenbane |
I think Elxurian said we would head back to the woods if no one objected. I think we are ok to do what she said.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Seems fine.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Probably just getting as much as we can now, and then we will come back with a cart soon?
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Penka's healthy.
GM Captain Trips |
All, sorry about the delay with a post. I've been terribly busy this week and have only managed a few quick posts to some of my games. Short weeks at work always end up causing problems for us and do nothing for my ability to post! Hopefully I can pick up the pace and we can get things moving at a good speed again soon.
GM Captain Trips |
Just a friendly recap on the current key points of the game, what you've seen or discovered, what if any tasks are currently on your plate, and anything that you might want to follow up on. Since this game is far more sandbox and free-form than a typical adventure path, its sometimes hard to sort out goals and what not. I sense that some are at a loss at this point and I wanted to throw these out there.
1. Obviously you have the issue with the next possible sale, or attempted sale, of the Starstone fragment. It hasn't been truly verified as a legitimate artifact at this time, but there is enough evidence to suggest that whatever it is, someone wants it, badly. It should have also been obvious that while the attack during the sale seemed to be based on the artifact, the evidence suggested it was more of an attack on a specific attendee, since the Starstone fragment could have been stolen with ease. Instead the creatures seemed to focus on getting to those within the ropes, and killing them. The whole thing definitely had more of an assassination feel to it.
2. You were sent to make an exchange with the centaurs, which you completed, but you still need to return to town with your item.
3. The strange creatures warrant further investigation. You've approached some avenues, but you might have other options. For those who have set your factions to work on this, remember to follow up with them.
4. It should have been obvious that the necromancer you encountered was actually a cleric, and one serving a dark god. The nature of that god would definitely be worth looking into.
5. There's still some loose ends with tracking down all of those attending the auction, if you should choose to do so. Optional, but there is information out there.
6. Remember, you were given a device to contact Herne as needed. He is meant as a way for the group to get information beyond their factions and contacts.
These are just a few tidbits to help. The world is, however, your oyster. Feel free to determine your own agenda as best fits the group. With the addition of Ausk and the departure of Quarick and Hanz, the dynamic of the group has definitely changed to one with a more divine agenda. Feel free to pursue that as you wish.

Sorry for my absence from the boards on Thursday and Friday. Our daughter-in-law unexpectedly went into labor on Thursday and we were at the hospital until Saturday. The good news is I am now a grandfather! I think there should be a law against someone having to be called a grandparent at 42, because now I'm somehow officially an old man. :)
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Congrats, "Grandpa"! :)
Elxurian |
Then let's fast forward back to the centaur, or even back to the city if the interaction with him seems meaningless.
We will inform him of the destiny of the centaur, and also that we didn't find the other body. Plus, we ask him that, if he have any further weird activity like this that he inform us somehow so we could deal with it.
GM Captain Trips |
Ok, summary time.
1. The reward from Nashota consists of twelve uncut gems worth 100gp each. You could look into having them cut, which would increase the value, but you wouldn't be able to sell them immediately.
2. Clovis rewards you with the agreed upon 200pp, to be split between the party members.
3. You will have four days of downtime to account for before the next forced event.
4. You are all level 3 now!
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Woot!
Here are my Spellcraft rolls for spell research (two days were already pre-rolled from earlier, one success and one failure)
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 => Success! Man, only 2/7 days of successful research so far!
Penka gains her first bloodline power (Tanglevine) and chooses to increase Tree's Strength score with two of his evolution points, losing the increased reach with one of his slams.
She also learns the long arm spell. Tree gains Toughness as a feat.
Penka "Prebleached" Bashment |
Mkay so, the next question is how do we want to deal with all this loot. We've got 200pp to split, which gives us 400 gp each.
Then we need to decide if we want to try to get the gems cut. I assume we'd need to pay to have them cut but that would cost less than the difference in value. Since Penka is using her downtime for spell research, does anyone else volunteer to use their four days of downtime to find out how to get the gems cut, and do so? If not, we'll sell them at current value.
