Shan Pangu |
Shan take the tea cup with both hands and bows in acceptance before the Po's.
"So how often do you entertain visitors? Any interesting guests recently?"
Luisila |
Upon reaching the door, Linnea cannot help but jest, "So, Passad likes big knockers eh?"
Luisila covers her open mouth :o with the fingers of her open palm in a parody of refined embarrassment.
“Linnea! Well I never! Please forgive my sister, Mr and Mrs Po. Mater and Pater took her in as a conscience project after she ran away from a carnival.”
She allows Gamaradim Po to drape a monogrammed napkin in her lap before sipping her tea, pinkie out. The priestess then asks “Any cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off? They’re very fashionable in Queen Abrogail’s court I understand.”
She holds up the monogrammed napkin. "This must be the finest piece of TP I've ever felt." She rubs the napkin on her cheek.
“Wrong cheek, dear.” Luisila advises *rolling* her eyes and making a See what I have to put up with? look at the Pos.
But she can’t keep up the act and dissolves into a fit of giggles, before using the silliness to hide a low aside to her companions.
"This has the feel of an arena blood sports event to me … like that play The Hungry Gamers. It’s definitely weird."
GM Burglar |
"Indeed. Some... unpleasantness has occurred and we haven't have the proper time to address the mess. I do ask you make an attempt to respect the property during your attempt, as even one of the window shutters costs more than my annual wage."
Domitilla demurely averts her line-of-sight while tea is delivered to all accepting guests, as is customary for a tea server at a fancy party
At the request of ale and sandwiches, Gamaradim looks to his wife, "I do believe we still have a few cucumbers from the garden, yes?" His wife silently nods in affirmation. "Please prepare our guests sandwiches. " He bows to Varg at his request, "I do apologize, but the Master is not planning to entertain here in the near future and thusly has withdrawn his stores of ale on the premises. You may partake from my Irrisani Queensbrand Stouts, if you wish." If Varg accepts theRussianIrrisani-made gift, he instructs his wife to retrieve a bottle from the kitchen, which she does in a couple minutes.
"The private dealings of Master Passad and his business associates are not such that I am at liberty of speak of freely. I am within my rights, however, to mention that there have been mercenaries far less courteous than yourselves, though one might surmise that you bear many similarities, so to speak."

Linnea Joculus |
Linnea figures that the situation is odd, but doesn't feel that their hosts are bearing them any ill-will. So, she holds her teacup in her lap and waits for all to be served. She'll take a sip of tea only after her hosts drink some themselves.
"Oh no, you're our hosts. Please, it would be rude of me to drink before you, madame," she sayss to Domatilla.
Caradeum Genwyllian |
Caradeum sits and nods in thanks at the proffered cup of tea. He lifts it to drink, but notices the others not partaking and hesitates, sniffing at the tea.

Waiting-for-elevator mininote: Luisila has sipped like a good guest and has yet to explode. It is actually extravagantly well-made, though doesn't blend incredibly well with the impromptu sandwiches (though those are as fresh as can be.)
Edit: misread the addressee. Domitilla responds, "If you insist, though, I will drink once everyone is adequately served."
Gam chimes in, "Nonsense, you are a servant and forbidden as well. You know this."
"We are to listen to guests requests, are we not? If she is truly from the Society, then she is invited and and invited guests are to be listened to when insisted, excluding 'matters that may compromise house defense', no?"
"I suppose..." a defeated Gam replies to his wife. "If she, and you insist..."

Linnea takes a sip, not wanting to upset decorum. As she sips her tea, she asks some questions.
"I don't suppose you could just tell us where we can find the Mutani Manual, can you?"
She sips some more.
"Do you happen to know the whereabouts of a Mr. Besai? He also would've come from the Society some time ago. Your master had apparently detained him, and we've been asked to collect him."
GM Burglar |
"I don't suppose you could just tell us where we can find the Mutani Manual, can you?"
"One would presume it to be in the library, with the other books, to the west of here."
"Do you happen to know the whereabouts of a Mr. Besai?"
"The guest rooms are currently vacant. I was instructed to house the person of whom you speak where his endless expertise would be most appreciated."

Luisila |
Luisila smiles at Varg as the stout is brout out. “Ask and ye shall receive, huh Cleaver? Threv’s Thirsty Throat! I could get used to being waited on like this!”
The priestess shows genuine concern for the servants. “While we run the gauntlet, is there any chance you will get injured?”
Being a cleric of the goddesss of Luck, Luisila decides to push it ... “Can you please bring the Mutani Manual and Harmidio Besai to us now? I’d also like the command codes to make the manor’s defenses stand down, Mr Po. Could you also bring me a potion of haste, an amulet of natural armor and a high valence cloak of protection please?”
She takes another sip of the exquisite tea (but ignores the sandwiches) and says to her companions. “So perhaps parts of the manor become animated objects? Mayhaps the dead fish polymorphed into something more dangerous.”
Luisila then puts down her cup. “Does anyone have any more questions? Otherwise I guess we proceed to … the library maybe? To search for the book.”
GM Burglar |
"We are to follow our instructions given instructions, though if either of us are in danger, I am permitted to use my best judgement for our own safety. I do not foresee this happening." His wife adds, "If everyone is satisfied, I must return to paperwork." Barring direct inquiries or interruptions, she bows, notes the pleasure of making everyone's acquaintance, and goes through the west door again.
"And I do believe such gifts go beyond the expected courtesy my master intends on delivering; it would be less of a challenge were I to have such things, no?"

Linnea Joculus |
"Well, thank you for the tea, and for your commitment to being completely unhelpful." Linnea places her cup on the nearest surface, without a care if she causes any ring-marks on expensive furniture.
"Yes, to the library." The half-elf stands up to leave.

Lin's disinterest in furniture etiquette is jolted by a sudden blackout as she drops the cup, spilling contents about the table! One by one, each person to imbibe a drink provided also finds themselves at least a little woozy! Though attempting to squeeze in some dialogue before Luisila and goes under, Gammy gets a last word in as he bows, "Indeed, best of luck to you all."

Luisila |
The priestess of good times is somewhat familiar with the feeling that accompanies the ingestion of a variety of substances.
Uh oh … something’s … not … quite right …
Luisila sees the table coming straight for her head. “Look out guys! The table’s alive!”
*SMACK*
She turns her head 90 degrees from the tabletop to look at Po from beneath heavy lids before it all goes dark.
“Cara … toxic ants … Po, you dare serve … trifle … with … me … of the Undesirable Wench … Revenge … is guest … out cold.”
Sealman Alerteyes |
"I'll protect . . . chew."
Seal tries to chop the table in half as it clearly has animated up to attack the party. Instead, his hands loose their violent force as the slowly lay upon the table, crossed to form a pillow. Shan lays his head upon his large hands like a child resting his head on a desk. He softly begins to murmur ...
"To him who holds in his hands of the invisible Tao, the whole world repairs.
"Men resort to him, and receive no hurt, but find rest, peace, and the feeling of ease."
Linnea Joculus |
Linnea sees the tabletop approaching her face at a rapid speed. Wait a... minute-

For clarity, the Ernest post is "Head Trauma Dream Ernest" and only happens to those unconscious who want to opt into fun cypher games. In didn't have anything to really do during lunch hour.

Foe a second, I thought Ernest was the backwards speaking dwarf from Twin Peaks.
Standing and waving his hands in pseudo arcane gestures, Caradeum says, "Yes, I think you should leave immediately."
Bluff to act like casting a fireball on the servant.: 1d20 ⇒ 4
GM Burglar |
Though I've never actually seen Twin Peaks, that's been compared to other shows I totes enjoy, and I believe that the html glitch that does that effect was discovered and made popular by said dwarf.
Gam bows before promptly taking his leave of the elf-and-sleepin' folk, "All you needn't do is ask, ser."
Linnea Joculus |
Linnea wakes up after a certain amount of time. "Ugh, my head feels like I spent two Stardays and a Fireday night trying to out drink Desmond." She looks around and sees that Caradeum is the only one to not pass out. "I...I thought there would be something laced in that tea, but couldn't know for sure."
The half-elf stands and looks around, trying to catch a glimpse out the window. "How long was I out for?" she asks, rubbing her temples carefully.
So...I'm guessing we've got some kind of nasty penalty for being poisoned?

Barring intervention from the Wizard, one half-hour and well-rested, actually. (Though the head-on-table probably stings still.)

Waking up and gathering himself, Shan thinks aloud.
"Well, that was uncalled for. I guess the rules of hospitality do not apply here. And to what purpose besides to sign a death wish at the hands of a barbarian. Very well, we have a mission here. Let's get it done."
Barring any further incident, Shan makes his way to the library.
Luisila |
Oooohhhh …
Luisila puts both palms on the tabletop to push herself up, before planting her right elbow and sinking her chin and cheek into her open palm, all without opening her eyes.
“If this is Passad’s way of saying bring your ‘A’ game, he’s made his point.”
The half-elf spends another few moments feeling sorry for herself, before opening her eyes and rising to her feet. She is quickly back to her usual self.
“Lin, don’t worry. I won’t tell Ernest that you slept with Shan and Varg … at the same time!”
Luisila then detaches a winged circlet from her bronze coronet and frisbees the jingasa to Varg.

Caradeum Genwyllian |
Was out this weekend with holiday and birthday celebrations.
After the servant left, Caradeum began to inspect his companions, waking them up if he could.
Once everyone is awake.
"I tappears we must be ready for all sorts of devious tricks. Shall we head to the library now?"
GM Burglar |
Anything short of a causing single point of damage or similar outwardly-harmful effect doesn't wake them. Desu mi-chi is something I wish was on the chronicle; Geisha Bard w/ injection spear fun.
I have the combat room maps on separate, smaller instances. I'll get them up when I'm home, though if you want to get any further Asian hat items or buffs passed around, now is a good time. There are double doors to the north, unless you're going outside to go around.
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Burglar |
The two frontliners presumably open the two doors simultaneously, for maximum ranged assistance. The ceiling of this grand hall soars twenty feet overhead. An enormous, fifty-foot-long banquet table surrounded by twenty-eight beautifully carved, high-backed chairs dominates the room. Eight full suits of ornate plate armor line the east and west walls, each holding an elaborate if unwieldy halberd. Intricately grilled windows high up on the north and south walls allow ambient light from outside to permeate the large chamber.
Two enormous oil paintings (for scale, they're 7'4" and probably in the thousands of gold in price at a glance) in fanciful gilded frames flank the double doors on the west wall, their subjects presiding regally over the hall. On the right is an obese man in voluminous white robes and gloves, with a long black beard of oiled ringlets, and the fingers of both hands bedecked with gems—the quintessential portrait of a Druman Kalistocrat. The portrait on the left depicts a beautiful olive-skinned woman with large dark eyes and raven hair, also clad in white robes and gloves; her hair is held in place by a jeweled circlet, and a veil of coins covers her lower face.
Seated in is a most unusual dinner party — one comprised of bipedal forms clad in expensive black formal wear, with a grotesque, fish-like head, though it otherwise seems human enough. Their heads spin around as the doors open, but do nothing else, even after a few seconds. Entering, however, may prove differently.

She then taps Linnea, herself, Caradeum and Shan with her wand of protection from evil ...
