Walren Fort Save DC 13: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Doreen capitulates with Hyder's request, stepping back from the attacking ghoul so that the halfling can "deal with" it. In the air above them, a winged shape begins to form...
Laird, despite his grievous wounds, reaches out and grabs his attacker, corrosive wounds searing the lacedon's putrid flesh. Having exerted himself so, Laird grows faint and tumbles to the deck. Taking a standard action while disabled causes the character to take 1 point of damage and fall unconscious. Laird is now at -1 hp and dying (DC 10 Con check to stabilize); the good news is, Woodruff is no longer paralyzed and can act next round.
Although Artemis crashes and burns, when Forest leaps up toward the pilot deck, his fingers find purchase on the windowsill- but just barely. Captain Walren, seeing him slipping, rushes forward and grabs Forest's hands, hauling him up into the cabin. The grizzled old dwarf does not seem to realize that a lacedon is creeping up right behind him, however...
Lacedons are up.
Despite Doreen's retreat, the hexed ghoul, shaking off its curse, moves hungrily toward the witch yet again. Either it fails to notice Hyder, or does not perceive the halfling as a threat. Doreen dodges back from its snapping jaws, but its claws are another matter, raking painfully across her unarmored form. She suddenly seizes up and goes still... Doreen takes 6 damage and must make a Fort save vs paralysis. To save time, I went ahead and rolled her Fort save. It failed.
In the pilot deck above, just as Walren helps Forest gain his footing, the lacedon attacks. Its bite and one of its claw swipes fail to land against the captain, but one of them does. The captain cries out in pain as the lacedon's claws tear across his chest, but thankfully he does not succumb to paralysis. Captain Walren takes 7 damage.
Seeing Laird fall, and seemingly satisfied with its work, the lacedon that had savaged him moves away. For a moment, it considers scaling the ladder up to the pilot deck as well, but instead it sees Artemis on the other end of the boat and begins making its way toward him. Lacedon #6 double moves toward Artemis.
Party is up!
Hyder Troseddol |
taking a 5 ft step'I got ya now ya bugger' Hyder quickly steps behind the lacedon, Reaching up he whacks at the creatures spine with his walking stick at the same time slashing at its calf with his dagger.
Hyder stepped behind the lacedon to get a flank with Doreen, I have assumed that she was a viable option, but she is now paralyzed, so if the flank is not available please ignore it ;(
5 ft step, attack: hanbo and dagger, two weapons, flank, skulker
attack: Darkwood Handbo: 1d20 + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 10 for damage: 1d4 - 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (6) = 7
attack:MW coldiron dagger: 1d20 + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 17 for damage: 1d3 - 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (2) = 3

Artemis reconciles to not getting to the captain, satisfied Forest is on the scene. Seeing the swampy fell-beast approaching, he snarls and charges at it. "Ain't no easy meat here, filth!"
He brings the edge of his shield up to connect with the monster's jawline.
Shield Your Eyes: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
(Rage (2/7), Power Attack, Impr Shield Bash, Current AC 13 (Guarded Stance), HP 25)

Surprised that worked...
Forest stumbles through the window with the captains help and draws Asar's sword again. " You should have returned to the depths when your friends fell!" He cries, driving the blade into the creatures chest.
Asar's Longsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Attempt #4!
Despite Forest's awkward entry onto the pilot deck, he quickly regains his composure and puts Asar's longsword to work, chopping down the lacedon menacing the Captain in a single blow! Captain Walren's eyes widen, impressed.
Artemis also sees success with his attack, meeting the lacedon's charge shield-first. His impressive strength crushes the lacedon completely!
Hyder, too, finds his target, taking advantage of the final lacedon's preoccupation with Doreen to land a blow with his dagger. It is not enough to slay the beast, but it is clear that the undead monster is nearing its end.
Rather than risk annihilation, the last lacedon attempts to escape over the side of the boat. Hyder, you may take an attack of opportunity.
Hyder Troseddol |
'hey, you ain't getting away that easy' Feeling the dagger slash the tendons of the creature, he is surprised to see the creature move so quickly to get over the side of the boat, "Oh no ya don't, not if I can help it." Hyder slashes again, this time aiming higher to disembowel the thing.
Aoo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
If he still gets the flank please ad 3 to the attack from flank and skulker for 14 attack and flank: 1d6 ⇒ 6 for a total of 7 damage
