GM Brayden's "Rise of the Runelords"
Game Master
Brayden Green
Rise of the Runelords was the first adventure path released in the Pathfinder Adventure Path line and debuted in August 2007.

"Considering how much lighter he is, we should probably just let Mr. Featherfoot travel through the air until we can learn more." Virgil squints his eyes, trying to spot anything important. "How about that metal rod with the bifurcated end? Everything else looks mundane in comparison."

Now that I know I'm not actually dead because I decided to jump in there like a loon. ;)
With a huge smile on his face, Bugsby responds by moving towards each item with an odd frog-like swimming motion and stows them on his person, his voice sounding quite child-like as he says, "It's just like swimming in noodles!"

Looking a bit suspicious as he watches Bugsby flying there and soon relaxing as nothing happens immediately. Laughing now Har har, you look like a damn birdie there gnome! All flying and arm flapping if ya know what I mean. Might be fun if could actually fly ya?

The small figure can't contain himself and turns a flip or two, twists and has a general good time as he goes about his procuring. "WEEEEEEEE!!!"Perf Dance: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
While his performance is lack-luster, it doesn't lack for enthusiasm.

I'm not sure if I should just leave. I'd like to let the GM resolve Bugsby's actions in the room in case something is off. Rather than say "And then I leave without a scratch." So that's what I'm waiting on.

For sure ya. I dunno but would like ta keep going eh. Hopefully our small sparkle da can get all important looking items with us Kerdin sighs as he looks at the room with suspecting eyes

Virgil smiles at Bugsby's antics. "Reel him in, Mr. Toby."
Well then. He bursts into flames, and the walls eat him... Happy now? :)
The room was very tranquil, but there seemed to be a quiet anger coming from the walls. The black electricity on the walls continues to form into shapes. The shapes are too frequent to be a random occurrence, as you all watch from the outside of the room, with Bugsby landing to the ground, eager to check out his loot.

Bugsby looks at his haul, laying it out on the floor. He rubs his hands together, looking happily down at the objects, "I found; a ragged book, a scroll, a bottle of wine, and a twisted iron wand with a forked tip." He looks sadly at the floating dead raven, "I decided not to bring the raven, too many maggots."What dice shall I roll GM?
I'm close enough to being ready for the child, let's do this... Baby room / ex-office is all vacuumed our, and I cleaned the carpet today. Now we just got to do a quick painting and it is good to go.
Bugsby finds:
The bottle of wine is a decent one.
Both the scroll and the book are written in a language you don't understand (Abyssal). It has pictures of monsters and what you think might be text, but aren't really sure.
Upon concentrating on the wand, you learn that it is a wand of shocking grasp, and it seems to be mostly full.
So my guess is that you backtrack down to a part of the map that you haven't explored.
Either B3, where you found the statue below,
Brayden Green wrote:
You approach the statue in somewhat concerned fashion.
A red marble statue of a strikingly beautiful but, at the same
time, monstrously enraged human woman stands in the middle
of this room, her stony expression twisted in fury. The woman
wears flowing robes, and her long hair is held back from her
face by an intricate headdress of hooks and blades. In her left
hand she carries a large book, the face of which is inscribed
with a seven-pointed star. Her right hand holds a glittering metal
and ivory ranseur.
Or a hallway past that. You hear water dripping/sloshing down the hall from the statue, and hear nothing on the hall past the statue.
You know that there are at least some stairs going downward in the hallway leading off of the statue. Your light has shown that far down the hall.

"I suggest we follow the hallway past the statue. I for one do not wish to try to traverse across this chamber only to end up floating at the top for eternity."
So you head down the stairs towards what looks to be a small circular pool.
Water ripples quietly in this circular stone pool, the
rim of which is lined with skulls.
(Location b4. There is a door ahead and for the sake of moving the story along I will give you B5 as well. It is a set of stairs that goes up, but has been blocked by rubble. It isn't completely closed off, as you can feel fresh air coming from the stairs, but clearing them seems like a very hard thing to do at this point.)
What would you like to do with the pool, and/or at the stairs?

"Let's move on to the hallway we passed closer to the entrance. There doesn't seem to be much else we can learn here."
Let's head down the hallway between B2 and B3, toward Section 12.

Bugsby is already nodding at Virgil's suggestion, even as he lights a small stone with a spell and drops into into the pools depths, following it's path downward with his eyes. "That's a great idea, let's head that way." the distracted gnome states and he leans over the edge of the poor, staring into it's now semi-illuminated depths. Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
The tunnel widens here into what appears to have
once been a small shrine, for to the northeast,
steps lead up to a platform of gray stone. Sitting
atop the platform is an ancient
altar, little more than a jagged
block of black marble with a
shallow concavity on top of it.
This basin is filled with what
appears to be filthy water.
HP: 15/15, AC: 13/13/11, F+4, R +2, W+2, Init: +3, Range: +3, Melee: -1, Sling: 1d3, INIT +3, Perc +5
Bugsby creeps into the room behind the knees of the others, and starts detecting magic at the shrine, the grey stone, and the water. "What is this place?" he asks no one in particular.

Is Kerdin still playing? I noticed he hasn't posted since August 2nd.
Virgil creeps up to the door and listens, trying to determine how big or how many creatures may be on the other side.
Not sure. I guess we'll find out when/if he responds. New blood might the kickstart that this thing needs, but I'm not all for putting the boot to people without fair warning, as I had a month from hell (house almost on fire, baby coming, inlaws, etc) last month and you all were patient.
There certainly aren't many creatures in there, if there is more than one.
Bugsby, your K Arcana let's you know that it is magical, and ... HEY! LOOK AT THAT DOOR I WONDER WHAT IS BEHIND IT!!! :)
I'm calling it for Kerdin. Going to open recruiting.
Also, going to need everyone else to get on board and get those posts up, unless you have otherwise mentioned on the discussion page what is currently going on with you. After spending $100 on material for this online campaign, I'm not letting it die.
