GM, sorry but I can't really post an action until I know what the first two bad guys in the initiative order do. Where they are positioned will greatly effect what actions I take this first round. I will keep checking through out this evening in case you post something detailing their actions and then I will get my post up ASAP.

BTW, just a thought, when I have DM'ed PbP games before I found it much easier for me and the players if I just rolled one initiative for all the bad guys as a group. That way it worked out that all the good guys could post actions...I would take those into account and then I could post all the actions for the bad guys. that way there were not as many issues of needing to wait on a bad guy to do something before a player could post. Just something I found worked for me. Take it for what little it is probably worth :o)

If the halfling drops from my sleep hex it would mean that anyone who attacks him next their attack is a coup de gras, which means it is an automatic hit and critical. If you do not kill him outright he then must make a fort save vs the amount of damage you do or die anyway.
+

GM - I know I already targeted the halfling and my hex failed last round, which would normally mean I can not target him again for 24 hours, but I have the "Accursed Hex" feat that allows me to hit a target with a hex a second time in the very next round.

Hope our GM is ok. I know the fires in Colorado Springs have gotten a lot worse.

Doing fine as far as the fires go. THose are about 4 hours away from me. Now if I can just get in to get a freaking massage and get this migraine out of my system.

Today is much better than yesterday, but still...

I *do* have the inlaws coming in town to stay this weekend... maybe when they leave the migraine will too.

Coincidence?

Sorry guys...was gone Thursday through today for work and the stupid hotel did not have wireless Internet at all. So I just got back online but am at a Pathfinder game right now. I will try to get caught back up and posting tomorrow.

Had a blast! My son and son-in-law both shot as well, so it was a good family time :) Nothing says family love like the smell of burnt gun powder and recoil early in the morning heh.

Didn't do so hot, but then it was my first multi-gun event and the first time I've shot competitively in over 20 years. The Outdoor Channel should have a piece on the match in October (since it was a Zombie theme, they're going to show it for Halloween).

The match was put on by Hornady with a bazillion other sponsors. There was over $160,000 in prizes donated by the sponsors! It was huge! Every shooter (Over 400 of them) received something and even the low-end prize was a $200 value :)

This was really good fun! Great intro to PFS for me. Sorry I got so busy towards the end... it's been a bit crazy around here. I too would be up for continuing.

Male Human Mad Scientest - Level Absolute **Azlant Ridge base camp**

I just meant this as an intro to PFS, and to get you as hooked on it as I was the first time I played (the *first* one is free...), but I am having a lot of fun with it, too, and would be interested in continuing.

Rather than lead some of you on, and etc etc and start a game behind people's backs and all of that stuff, I figure we are all grown ups and we can handle grown up situations. *MY* grownup situation, is that I have two online PFS groups that started and finished at the same time (you guys and another), and I know with work being the way it is that I can't bring both groups through another round (or two, or twelve), and have it be anything consistent, or worth you logging into on a regular basis.

Regardless of what happens for the future, if anything does, you are all going to get your individualized chronicle sheets, and xp. I need to email you each your sheet, as your numbers will all be different with gold totals, etc. You can message me your emails, and I'll respond with your sheets.

I already know that a couple of the other group won't want to play (and I won't let them), because a couple have dropped off in the process, posting very very infrequently, or not at all.

So I am left with a conundrum. I considered creating a "megagroup", but PFS rules are very specific about table sizes, and a very strict "no tweaking" with the combats policy. So that is out.

The only "fair" and unambiguous way I can think of choosing is by post count (and I realize that even *that* isn't fair, because quantity isn't always quality, and that some of you are specifically biting your tongue in situations.) I get that, but I don't know any other way to do it, other than to pick people. And coming from a kid that always got picked last in sports (as a child, I later grew tall and strong and rocked it) I know what it is like to watch everyone else get picked, and don't like the "I choose you and you and you" method, in this instance.

Does anyone have any better ideas for a deciding process? Or any ideas specifically relating to this?

(For example: If someone wanted to *run* the next one instead of me, we could keep the group together and I could jump in as a player instead... That way we wouldn't have to split the group up.)

I'm open to anything else as far as suggestions go.

Male Human Mad Scientest - Level Absolute **Azlant Ridge base camp**

As far as missions, you cleared everything, you sold everything, and as a result you gained max gold from clearing everything and selling your gold. You found *almost* everything there was to be found.

I *do* need a day job check from everyone. If you have a trained profession, it is a d20+ that profession.

Otherwise, it is just a d20 roll.

(day job signifies your actual labor at your job in between the time that has lapsed from one adventure to the next. It can be increased by taking ranks in professions when you level, or by buying "vanities". One example of this is buying a tavern. That gives you a + whatever modifier on your day job check, thereby earning you more money in between missions.)

Andoran

Human/Fighter - HP: 18/18, - AC: 19/T: 14/FF: 15 - Perception: +8 - F: +3 / R: +4/ W: +3 - CMB: +4 - CMD: 18, Speed: 20

Would it make sense to take inventory of who wants to continue and who you want to continue with? (I'm assuming you're thinking we'll have more than 6...) I'm just afraid that going purely by post count would provide an unfair advantage to me (since I don't work during the summer) and an unfair disadvantage to Bander (who has been extraordinarily busy.)

It is rare to find these First Steps games offered individually...and to get the most out of them a character should do all three. Let's just see where everyone is at and go from there.

It's always a hard choice when you have more players than you have room for. Do you choose those you've enjoyed their gaming style the best, or those who try and RP their character, or those who have been there the longest? Tough choice.

Perhaps a closed recruitment application? Or a dice off? (darn dice bot!)

Well I was busy with basic training graduation and it always seemed when I had time to check there were no new posts and then a day later there were 12 new posts (by the way not making excuses here, it's just how PbP works out sometimes)...so I am not a fan of going by post count but that's just me :o). I will of course abide by what ever the group or the GM decides on this matter. I would love to continue with the remaining intro adventures.

Now for some money making...come on dice be good to me:
Profession Brewer...let's make some beer. Bander could use a good stiff drink! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Male Human Mad Scientest - Level Absolute **Azlant Ridge base camp**

We already have more than 6 that want to go again.

I don't disagree with anything anyone has said thus far.

I am currently talking with the other group to see what they are thinking, as far as who wants in still. So far we have 8, and we could (and probably will) have as many as 10 that want to continue on.

The only way I can see both groups continuing on is if someone runs at least one of the groups for me... *le sigh*

Hmm. I just finished running Tide of Twilight on rpggeek.com. It was my first time running a PbF game. First Steps part 2 is a bit more complex (as far as GMing it is concerned.) I might be up for running it if I can figure out how to best handle the maps.

One caveat is that I'll be going on vacation the last week in July and will only have internet access via my phone and iPad. Playing a PbF via mobile devices is certainly easy enough...but running a game through them could prove to be a challenge.

So I guess this is a very roundabout way of saying that I'm not against running part 2 (or part 3 if it comes to it); but we just need to figure out if I'm the best person for the job.

I'm quite content with whatever is decided. If there are too few slots for the number of players, I'd be happy to drop out. The next month and half is my busiest time all year at work, so I'm fine with any decision.

Ahh my craft!

Alchemy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Working on reporting right now, and should have individual character sheets done today, to "deliver" to you.

I will be accepting packages of swedish fish in the mail for the extra trouble of posting each one of your character sheets individually. :)

Also, I have decided that I am going to back out of one of my PbP games that I am playing in in order to have the time to do both groups.

So... Yeah, I'm awesome!

Hey all, I still need email addresses from Ahz, and THadd to get that paperword done.

Thadd PMd me, but ommitted the email (accidentally I am sure).

And Ahz, you were mentioning that this is the busiest season for your work, did you want to continue? I would love having you, but I know that people are breaking down the door to play. Ultimately you can decide for now, and I'm not pushing you one way or the other... Just saying that I know what it is like to be busy, and can understand if you feel like taking a step back.

- I am going to ask more a little more input from you if you decide to stay, though, and I would be happy to have you in the group. :)

Everyone else should have your paperwork today. Today is my day off, AND the wife is working, so it is the perfect time for me to get ALL the paperwork done by tonight, if possible, sent to you, and we can set you loose on the "buying phase," and be one step closer to officially starting.
