Géatan Émond |
Géatan search if there a way to take out the effect of the menaad.
arcane: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
GM Bold Strider |
Geatan understand that Tysi needs to be restrained to keep from hurting her self or others while under the compulsion of the maenad, but he doesn't think that they have time to investigate finding a church in Abasalom to cure the person as they need to move on.
For E1, choose whether you let Tysi free or you keep her bound.
Your Lucky Day |
A Pathfinder stumbles down the hallway ahead of you. Hearing your party she starts and turns, ready to fight. Seeing that you are also Pathfinders she gives a smile and walks towards you. She tosses a small whistle your way, giving the gnome a troubled look as she does. She indicates that she is one of many agents tasked with communicating the happenings in the towers back to the commanders outside to help deliver resources where they are most needed. As she heads back down the stairwell she wishes you all luck and says if you need aid just blow the whistle and help will come.
You have an AID Token. GM: Please describe how the Aid Token can be used, or see the opening post in the overseer thread.
Géatan Émond |
I said we go to e1 use the aid to cast removed curse (i don't know if this is that and we tie her. This is the best solution for now.
Sue Basilbottom |
Looked through Sue's chronicle sheets and no help there. If you needed to retry a knowledge check I've got your back.
GM Bold Strider |
@Geatan: You use the Remove Curse for 2PP as Pathfinder.
Geatan hunts down a cleric to cast an abjuration spell on the fly and he pays for it with his standing with the Society, but the spell seems to have no effect on Tysi as she continues to wander around, immune to outside influence.
-2 PP to Geatan
Géatan Émond |
i was saying using the aid token but i can use the 2pp for break enchantement.

Thorgan |
Sorry, I overlooked we had an outstanding confusion to deal with. Thorgan's very familiar with this spell in his suicide missions. He has dispel magic as one of his 3rd level spells as any good iconoclast should and 3 calm emotions scrolls.
Thorgan tries to deal with the confusion taking hold of Tysi.
Dispel Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
If that fails, he'll burn a scroll of calm emotions.

@Geatan: Ah, I understand your *confusion* as I misunderstood your intent! ;D
However, Remove Curse won't do it, but Break Enchantment will, however this cannot be completed by the aid token.
Additionally, Thorgan is pretty sure that this wasn't a spell, so Dispel Magic will not work either.
Sento has graciously offered her 2 PP to cast Break Enchantment, so Tysi is back in the game!
I will post an update in a bit.
Tysi |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Wow, that was painful. I hit pretty hard for a small thing. Check out these muscles. Tysi flexes her arm.
Thanks for the help, but if it is possible for me to pay with my own PP I can. I have enough of it.

Fizzbeard Dragonfiend |
Sorry! Looks like you guys got that handled without me though.
Fizz looks on in concern as Tysi suffers from her affliction but sighs in relief as she regains control. "Well then, we'd best be off to find these notes. A library sounds like a good place, I'd say." Fizz ruffles his hand through his bright red beard and then pulls his sword back out as he leads the way atop his axebeak Beaky.
GM Bold Strider |
The group of Pathfinders, healed up and cured of the Confusion, move to the library to research how to shut down the portal in the Tapestry room.
Twelve bookcases line the walls of this cozy lounge room. Their shelves are crammed with books, scroll tubes, and tablets. Comfortable furnishings are arrayed so that scholars may examine the works without needing to remove them from the room. It may be here that Aram Zey hid his notes about the Hao Jin Tapestry.
A team of Aspis agents is already in this library searching for Aram Zey’s notes and other treasures and eagerly greets the Pathfinders with weapons drawn.

Sento Hana |
"I take that as you aren't going to surrender? She says mildly annoyed as she assumes dragons style and cautiously advances forward.

Murderers, killers!Cries Gaétan. Why you didn't leave us alone!
Seeing only one opponent, Gaétan aims for the women. He draws from his quiver two bludgening arrows that he shoots almost at the same time. He knows in himself that not all the aspis are evil. Whoa! I haven't played Fizz in a while and looking over his sheet I completely forgot that I bought him a minor cloak of displacement. Fantastic!

Well that is boring.
The group easily kills the Aspis woman easily as Thorgan spies the man and Tysi unleashes a volley of arrows into an empty square.
The man appears next Tysi and unleashes hell with a single stab of his rapier. "The Aspis sends their regards, wench." he whispers in her ear as he stabs.

The group quickly heads back to the Tapestry portal and spends the next ten minutes closing the infernal thing, cutting off any escape or reinforcements.

GM Bold Strider |
This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock against the eastern wall ticks each passing second as its hands move erratically.
When the wards protecting the Sky Key were breached, the dimensional forces surrounding the artifact caused space in this room to bend in an uncomfortable way. A PC within 30 feet of the pedestal must succeed at a DC 16 Fortitude save or be sickened for 1d4 rounds. A PC who succeeds at this save is immune to this effect for the rest of the encounter.
A ghostly image of a Pathfinder appears in the center of the room, where his likeness eerily begins to slide through the display case. His voice echoes as he speaks to an unseen party. “Oh no, they’ve stolen the Sky Key. It also appears they disrupted the auxiliary stabilizer, too.” He pauses before continuing. “Do you feel that? I feel kind of sick all of a sudden. I hope they didn’t try to disassemble it—or worse, bring it too close to the tapestry. Wasn’t that why Zey kept them so far—” The figure’s words go unfinished as he begins to scream and dissolve, fading from view in a matter of seconds.
As soon as this vision ends, two massive creatures, shrouded and bearing two pairs of stretched and veiny leather wings appear to be shunted into the room.

GM Bold Strider |
The dorvaes are a race of fiends standing apart from all others. Each dorvae prides itself on owing no allegiance to anything but itself, and is never willing to suffer a master no matter how powerful or intelligent that creature may be. Dorvaes believe all other creatures in the universe live solely to entertain the dorvaes’ perverse pleasures. Cruel, selfish, and calculating, each dorvae pursues its own dark agenda and desires without guilt, empathy for its playthings, or even consideration of the possible consequences. Master manipulators, dorvaes would rather stand back and create unquestioning minions to champion their schemes.
Many dorvaes meddle in the politics and power plays of evil planar beings, but a number of these fiends ply their manipulations on the Material Plane. Often they seek out primitive humanoid tribes, which they lead like vengeful and angry gods. Others look for cosmopolitan centers to manipulate, often masquerading as the mysterious leaders of foreign cults, or as the masterminds of criminal societies.
They are resistant to everything except good weapons and can resist all but the most powerful of magics. Their snakes have a neurotoxin that allows them to place even the strongest of men under their sway.
Sento protects herself with basic protection magic as Geatan launches a hail of arrows that pierce the hide of the closest dorvae. Only one clatters to the side as the rest strike the outsider.
The injured dorvae bellows in Infernal through the minds of the gathered Pathfinders.
