"No...No. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO...." Dr. Vitruvian's face and voice only a little more expressive than usual, but there is a seething terror in his eyes, as though the harpies' song has for some reason put him in mind of something far more terrible.

Pai uncurls her hand and fires an acidic Ray at blue harpy, trying to melt the flesh from the flying monster.

Acid Damage from Acidic Spray 9d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 5, 3, 6, 5, 4, 5) = 36

Reflex DC 21 for half. If fails save, take an additional 4d6 damage next round. If the creature makes a Reflex save in the second round, the extra damage is negated.

The Physician resists the effects of the harpies' songs, however half of the party isn't so lucky. The man tries to aid his party through song and spell, but nothing seems to help the Doctor, Kryssa or Mohok snap out of the ensnaring song of the harpies.

Countersong fails and, since Saving Finale was rolled by the Doctor, the spell fails.

Pai remains undeterred as he steps forward and blasts the harpy with acid.

Reflex Save-DC 21: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

The harpy easily pivots out of the way of most of the blast, but some of the conjured acid still scars her brown feathers. "YOU SHALL PAY FOR THAT GNOME!" the harpy bellows.

Yanos runs over to try and fight a flying harpy, but he just waves his longspear around ineffectually.

@Yanos: They are 20' in the air. A normal reach weapon won't be able to touch them.

The harpy in the rear continues to turn green in the feathers as bits of rats and small birds come barreling up through her esophagus.

The other two caw viciously at the party. "You dare invade our home!" yells one as she summons the plant growth in the area to rise up and seize the intruders.

Can I at least move?

@Yanos: Ah, you inserted it into the fluff. The harpies would have moved out of range of your spear on the last turn if 'I' knew that, so basically they would have 5' flew up out of reach. Also, your first attack from when you moved and got big missed the AC of the harpy, in case that wasn't clear.

@Doctor: Nope. Not per the harpy's ability unless you can fly. Also, sorry for the impending death. Scenario dictates I blast an elf with arrows if they are in the party.

Pai sends a blast of foul magicks at the southern most harpy in an attempt to steal her sight.

The Physician tries to use his bardic talents to free Mohok, the Doctor and Kryssa, but his song just is not powerful enough as he blesses the group and draws his crossbow.

Out of reach of Yanos, but wary of his spear, the nauseated harpy finds refuge around the tower from him, flapping away from the fight.

The archer decides that it is time for the elf to die as she nocks two more arrows and fires them at the elf in hatred. "Die SCUM!" she bellows as if an elf somehow harmed her in the past.

@Yanos: I don't think you can share rerolls like that and his prior save was about three rounds ago, so I think that ship has sailed as we would have to retcon a lot for it.

@Physician: Yes, but the effect is Entangle. Entangle will constantly try to entangle you if you stay in the area of effect at the end of your turn, so another save is needed.

@Kryssa/Pai: Entangle Save needed as well.

As Pai attempts to shroud herself in her Invisibility Shield, the harpy that was staring at her caws loudly and two force missiles erupt from her hands to strike the gnome before she disappears.

Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4

Kryssa feels the roots encase her as it throws off her aim, but both arrows still land. Pai disappears from sight as the roots wrap around the gnome as well, while the Physician nimbly avoid the roots and places a bolt in the harpy to the north.

Through the broken building, Kryssa sees the sickly harpy return with her bow, though she still looks rough from the Stinking Cloud.

The southern harpy flies away from the enlarged human and the angry half-orc who can now fly, choosing to try and sing once more.

Flying charge and attack green harpy! With haste I have a 70' fly speed, so charging I have 140' to use. Getting up to 40' high uses 80' out of the 140, then it's 60' to get to her, for a total of 140'. So I'm at 40' up, adjacent and 5' below her when I attack.

OK, so I was entangled when I made that shot, but I guess it missed anyway.

The Physician struggles to leave the grasp of the vegetation.

And hustles out of its reach while maintaining his song.

Since I had to drop my scroll of suppress charms and compulsions to use my crossbow, it's now on the ground inside. Maintaining Inspire +2, 5th round of haste. Good hope lasts for 7 minutes, so I don't think we need to track it for this.

DMBS - I don't see how I can't charge. I've drawn a straight line on the map from Mohok's old position to his new one (I shifted his new position one square north based on your post), and where the line crosses the wall, there is no wall - there's a gap in it on the map. Also, he moved 30' horizontally and 40' vertically. Because he moved diagonally, he went 15' horizontally (rather than 10') before he reached the wall. That means he covered half his horizontal distance, so he would have covered half his vertical distance, so he was 20' up when he reached the wall anyway. Seem reasonable?

The new position is fine, so that fixes the problem.

Mohok uses his newfound freedom to charge the freshly emptied harpy as she swoops around. He cleaves into her with his falchion, drawing a deep cut into her shoulder.

Yanos follows suit, stabbing one of the harpies as Kryssa falls under the sway of the most injured harpy.

@Kryssa: The second save should have been a Will Save. I removed the +2 from the difference between saves, deducted Haste and added Earplugs which gets you a 19, which misses the DC.

Thanks, DM, glad I got to do the flying charge after all! A very minor point of clarification on your nice, detailed status list (which is very helpful for higher-level play!): you don't need a Reflex save for Mohok at this point, right? He's in the area of the entangle, but I don't think it reaches 40' up.

Oops! I removed you from the list at End of Turn, but missed the Reflex Saves required.

Pai cannot escape the entangle, no matter how invisible she is. She tries to cast Dimension Door to teleport herself out of the range of the spell.

Need a Concentration check to cast while Entangled, Pai.

Concentration check versus 23, I think. 1d20 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 6 = 30

Ill pop out just north of The Physician, please.

The strength check was just to break free of being already entangled. I thought I still needed the reflex save to prevent getting re-entangled.

In the event I needed that reflex vs the entangle and still need to roll a will save:

Will vs Fascination + Good Hope + Earplugs: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 11
And I'm still fascinated so it doesn't matter. ;)

If we were smart, we would have cast Protection or Magic Circle vs Evil to negate their charm effect.

Kryssa:
Ah, I figured you wouldn't need the Reflex if you failed the Will Save as she would have you move out of the area of effect.

The most injured harpy has Kryssa under her song and flees from the cathedral with Kryssa easily keeping pace due to the effects of the Physician's Haste.

The remaining two harpies turn their bows on Mohok and Yanos, each stepping just out of range of their respective aggressors.

Pai, do you have any bigger guns to bring out? I mostly blew my wad on initial buffs, so I can be on wand duty, but you should still have some good spells left.

DM, since The Physician is technically up before me in order, can I change my action if I see him begin to move to Yanos to help? If so I will cast Mirror Image in prep for the pincushioning that will be coming my way next round.

Pai casts Mirror Image and suddenly there are more invisible Pai's on the battlefield.
