My eyes glossed over the see part, both the first time and after you mentioned it. Wow. :)

You see a few familiar faces, but no one that you have conversed with for any length of time. You don't see your original contact, Dalviss Crenn, his maid Leeara or any of the Erastil acolytes.

The group looks to see what they are doing, but the best that they can tell about the ritual is that they are summoning or guiding something to this spot in the Material Plane. Stopping these people might help, but it might also be irrelevant.

As you consider what to do, you hear a roar and the cracking of timber to the southwest, the direction of the inn and the Erastil temple.

Choosing to ignore the chanting townsfolk, the group makes towards the southwest, hoping that the crash was not something terrible, but their fears are quickly quashed as they see a large rubber-skinned humanoid bursting out of the inn, destroying half of the building as its sharp, gnashing teeth chew on the corpse of the barmaid. From its back, you see two large tentacles that wriggle around, grasping a bar stool and a table.

Its beady eyes turn and spot you as you appear to be about 50' from the creature down the main street in the area. Off to the side, you see the priest and his acolytes crowding the doorway of their temple, but they just appear to be standing impassively, neither helping nor hindering the beast. Given enough time, it might decide to squish and consume them, at least that is what you think would be the best case scenario if the monster goes unchecked.

The combat is mapless as I haven't been given a map for it. You are 50' from the creature and there is various impediments in the way to hide behind, but there is also clear line of sight, if that makes sense. Just imagine that you are on an open 20' wide street and this Large Humanoid is standing in the center 50' away from you.

Joesef will move up and try to get an arrow into the creature! I'll try to get both off of the street but within 30' of the enemy for sneak attack damage.

Back from my extended weekend trip!

Ali stops in his tracks, skidding in the dust of the road. He stares open-mouthed at the large rubbery creature. A new demographic... this may take some trial and error...

Ali reaches into his sleeve and pulls out a bouquet of flowers, holding it out to the rubber man.

DC 19 Will save to avoid oppressive boredom. If failed, it takes no action and then must continue making DC 19 Will saves to do anything for 8 rounds total.


Joesef closes the gap in order to try and strike a vital section of the creature as he hunkers down behind a crate. He nocks an arrow and pops up to try and fire at the behemoth, but the sharp tip catches on the wood, flicking it off the bowstring.

Ali, choosing to try and incapacitate the creature with a single spell, presents the giant purple-skinned creature with a bouquet of flowers, which is puzzling, but seems to be a valid tactic.

Will Save - DC 19: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

The creature seems to lose interest in the group of Pathfinders, the tasty acolytes at the temple and, just in general, raging.

Ennoia, not satisfied with the subdued creature, sends a volley of arrows, though only one seems to hit. It slams into the creature's shoulder but the thing seems to ignore it for the most part.

Grimdoc, trying to remain on the defensive, enlarges himself and blesses himself with his god's power. Erastil's blessing is well-received by the dwarf as his blade gleams in the twilight sky.

The creature pulls the arrow out from its skin and becomes enraptured as it looks at the bloodied arrowhead, giving Vladek time to look at the creature closely.

Vladek:
You don't know much about the creature's capabilities, but you can see that it is a fully transformed id mutant. It seems to have grown grasping tentacles. Its mouth appears poisonous and its skin seems to have thickened into something similar to a whale, giving it more protection.

Vladek and Qadathra inform their teammates as to the nature of the creature, insofar as it is a townsperson who has succumbed to the mind-altering disease that is permeating the town. Vladek enchants Grimdoc's weapon as Qadathra sends out a measly blast of power at the giant.

Joesef and Ali follow Qadathra's plan, blasting the creature with arcane magicks, however Ali adds a twist. He aims for the legs and knocks the creature prone, sending it crashing to the ground as it slams into a nearby merchant's cart filled with dried hay. The horse feed flies everywhere as the purple giant careens into the wooden cart.

Ennoia launches a salvo of four arrows at the fallen creature, making it harder for her to hit, but, surprisingly, three of the arrows actually strike despite the impediments as Grimdoc moves forward and slams the townsperson with his hammer, nearly cleaving off an arm.

Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

The creature seems much less bored by this point and quickly stands, provoking from Grimdoc as it closes the gap with the dwarf, which also draws an attack.

Between Grimdoc's hefty strikes with the hammer, Ennoia's accurate arrows and the group's arcane barrage, the giant is killed in relatively short order.

Only you offered to do non-lethal, Grim, and you go last, so it's dead, Jim.

As you strike down the giant, a man cries out from the rubble. He rushes out to move to the large creature and you see that he has been afflicted by the curse and granted the features of a fox. His ears have lengthened like an elf's, but are covered in red fur and his has a white-capped tail protruding from his leather breeches.

"What have you done to Nalan!?!" he yells as you realize who the newcomer is: Dalviss Crenn. The man roars in anger as he pulls his halberd, well the halberd promised to you, out and brandishes it at you. "The Society is filled with murderers!" he cries.

The fox-tailed Dalviss appears to be a much stouter fighter than the giant, though it might just be the luck of the Pathfinders, as all of their attacks clang off of the breastplate of the man.

Joesef rushes past, forgoing combat and kneels down next to Nalan, despite the paladin's call that there is evil standing next to him. He blesses the body of Nalan and the bleeding seems to stop, though the giant mutant is still on the verge of death.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" yells Dalviss as the man takes two rapid swipes with his halberd at the kneeling Joesef.

Halberd @ Joesef-26 AC: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Halberd @ Joesef-26 AC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

The man's weapon seems to be useless against Joesef's stout armor, however.

Yep, we definitely struck first. @GM - I was not sure if Grim's first 2 attacks for NL missed...but if they did, then there could be some shawdow weapon affects...should I roll those? I am assuming the spell was still active on his weapon but was not sure how much time lapsed between combats

Spell with an attack roll. Seems like it can crit. It doesn't however.

As Grimdoc slashes at the man, the shadowy cold sweeping behind his weapon does, in fact, connect with Dalviss, freezing his skin slightly.

Charm Person-In Combat Bonus: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 5 = 13

Qadathra's words have no effect as Dalviss snarls at the faerie dragon. "I will cut your wings from your body, insect!" he threatens as Ali weaves a few bits of magic and tries to charm the man.

The spell looks like it takes hold, but the man's mind seems to fight against the magical influence. His appears extremely conflicted as the tip of the halberd lowers slightly. "Step... *snarl* away." he warns directly to Joesef before turning back to Ali and the group. "Flee for your own good."
