Feeling the knives more than seeing, Dryn recoils backwards from the strikes, feeling her back up against the wall. Holding her morningstar before her, she keeps it raised defensively. "Um, uh, crap. Help!"
Total defense
Sigh. Should've expected that, but NOOOoooOOOoo. I was just thinking, 'hey, let's stop this one from running behind another stupid secret door!' Should've guessed a gank squad.
Kilthan Hammerstone |
Yup, current hp is 16
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Wow. Just... wow... Kilthan's clearly born under a bad sign..
Kilthan snarls as the dagger strikes him, twisting around toward his old foe, surprised as the momentum of his spin causes the greased axe to slip from his grip. He snarls a curse, "By Dranngvit, I'll see all you blasted-birds dead..."
Move action: Draw recovered Greataxe
Standard Action: attack... (#8, before he closes the cursed door)
Masterwork Greataxe (PA): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 for 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Apparently, Kilthan's only effective when invoking dwarven gods as he swings?
Aarakess Halcorn |
Dryn, you can 5-foot step at a diagonal to northwest which will eliminate the flanking. Not sure if you realized this was an option.
Aarakess moves forward behind Tohall and then looks down the hall to where Justin and Dryn and fighting the three birds.
Calling upon the troubled portions of their minds, Aarakess causes #12 to doubt its ability to defend itself.
Move forward to intersection.

Dryn'taka Devilschild |
Dryn, you can 5-foot step at a diagonal to northwest which will eliminate the flanking. Not sure if you realized this was an option.
If that's allowable, definitely. Though I thought can't move diagonal around hard corners. What say you GM Blood?
GM Blood |
Will Save #12 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Dryn, you are correct you cannot take a diagonal around a hard corner, but there is no such corner if you move to the NW
Kilthan mighty blow kills the tengu to the south. Aarakess disrupts another tengu so it is easier to hit.
Dryn'taka moves over to escape being flanked by tengus. The caster tengu #14 steps to its right while the tengu to the south #11 moves to her south. To her horror another panel open up showing the largest of the tengus she has seen, however the tengu to the south uses that opportunity to hit her with a dagger, sending her into darkness.

Ah, confused east and west.
Stabilization: 1d20 + 2 - 6 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 6 = 0 Yea, that's a no.
Aarakess Halcorn |
Seeing her friend go down and the hearing Kilthan's gasp as the large tengu appears next to him, Aarakess calls her patron to again bring doubt, this time to the mind of the large tengu. At the same time she begins to cackle in a manner that causes the doubt that crept into tengu #12's mind to persist.

Justin motions to Ingrid to attack the tengu again, hoping that will drop him and allow Justin to get closer to the fallen tiefling.
"Hit that tiefling again Ingrid, I want to get in there."
Justin drops his axe and, if the tiefling in front of him is still up, he attacks him and tries to step in his space if he falls.
If Ingrid drops the tiefling, Justing steps and attacks, starting with the injured and cursed tiefling.
Delay till Ingrid acts, then full power attack with 5' step.

edit: After dispatching and stepping, smite vs 14. Invoke at the end of turn to gain +3AC vs 14 and future attack bonuses vs 14.
Aarakess Halcorn |
A rather unnerving cackle continues to emit from the tall elf. Unnerving at least if you have fallen under her evil eye hex. At the same time, she turns toward the tengu #13 behind Kilthan and causes doubt to creep into its mind making its blows less effective.
Move Action: Continue to Cackle

Justin D'Rite aka Sluuth |
I do not think any portion of a full attack can be interrupted by a five foot step, but, if additional attacks can go on the smitten tengu, Justin will try to do it (@+3 to hit and damage).
Justin lashes into the injured tengu, stepping over his body after he is down to face the one he has singled out for divine wrath. His claws and bite hit with more damage.

Now that the the fallen tiefling is out of immediate danger, the palizard feels much more in control. Justin speaks calmly without emotion to the tengu in front of him. "Cease your struggles here, and as my prisoner you will get justice." He has heard the words of Iomedae do not encourage surrender very often.
"Ingrid, the path to Dryn will be clear soon, attend her at the first opportunity." Suggest Ingrid delay next round.
Tohall of Erastil |
The cleric of Erastil looks at the elf as she carries out her actions and did not seem to acknowledge his request. Seeing that Kilthan is not doing well shrugs and then calls up his god's powers of healing...

I am using the hex through my familiar.
Auxilium spreads his wings and quickly flies down the hall to the fallen tiefling which he touches with his claws as his master's healing magic flows into the Dryn.
I hope that is enough to get Dryn above 0 hp.

Dryn'taka Devilschild |
If GM Blood says the channel hit me, that's fine, but don't I have total cover to the Channel where I'm at? Though I probably shouldn't argue myself into the grave any further....
Oh, and Aarakess's spell puts me at 1hp, so conscious!
Burst, Emanation, or Spread: Most spells that affect an area function as a burst, an emanation, or a spread. In each case, you select the spell's point of origin and measure its effect from that point.A burst spell affects whatever it catches in its area, including creatures that you can't see. It can't affect creatures with total cover from its point of origin (in other words, its effects don't extend around corners). The default shape for a burst effect is a sphere, but some burst spells are specifically described as cone-shaped. A burst's area defines how far from the point of origin the spell's effect extends.
An emanation spell functions like a burst spell, except that the effect continues to radiate from the point of origin for the duration of the spell. Most emanations are cones or spheres.
A spread spell extends out like a burst but can turn corners. You select the point of origin, and the spell spreads out a given distance in all directions. Figure the area the spell effect fills by taking into account any turns the spell effect takes.

Round 5

Maybe... Though I did hit on the AoO with the Greataxe.... and the time I invoked the dwarven goddess of death and revenge. I get the feeling that the diceroller just isn't fond of Half-dwelves, and while a burner roll might fool it once or twice, it would catch on quickly and go back to the killing and the maiming...
