Yep - had another character that is a level 1 Oracle in my mind. Should be 1 + 3 = 4


Had a big thing written out last night but then took to long and it didn't post and I didn't feel like doing it right away again, so if you checked the map you have had an idea what is coming. Rohara can re-post her action since she goes after all of this. Ingrid is also delaying.

Aarakess moves up and damages the skeleton, her positive energy causing a scorch mark on its bones, but it still moves. The skeleton returns the attack

The northern door bursts open and 9 cultists come out wielding longspears. They move out in an orderly fashion, clearly having gone through some training for this occurrence. They keep telling you that you need to leave and that you are breaking the law by entering a temple illegally.

The cultists keep trying to trip Justin and when finally successful the others in reach try to get him while he is prone.

DMPC Dryn'taka stops delaying and launches a bomb targeting Cultist #5

Cultist Dryn'taka hits with the bomb takes the full hit and falls to the ground. The other cultists surrounding the one hit has major burn marks while the damaged skelton falls apart to the ground.

I 5-foot step back to M2 and then cast Web centered at K6/L7. It should get every Cultist except #7 and should just miss Justin.

Standard Action: Cast Web - DC16 Reflex or grappled. Also, if Dryn uses fire, that section of web will burn for 2d4 extra damage.

One of the cultists make it out of the web while one other of the cultists inside #1 frees himself.

Just then the door to the south opens up and two tiefling guards come out. They look at the large web in the room talking amongst themselves in a weird language then fire at Kilthan with their bows. One shot gets tangled in the web while the other was true, but bounces harmlessly off Kilthan's hardened skin.

I want to try out his finely crafted greataxe.

If/when Justin moves, I move into his square and cast burning hands trying to target #1,#2 and #3. There is not a cone that does this, but logically I should be able to get all 3 of them in a 15' cone - essentially this would be a 15' cone half way between a cone straight up, and a cone at a 45 degree angle. DM Blood, Let me know if this will not work.

I will squeeze into Justin's square if that is possible, and fire from there.

If you allow this:
Burning Hands: 3d4 + 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + (2, 3) = 13 <-- 3d4 burning hands, 2d4 burning the web
--> Reflex for 1/2 of the 8 from the burning hands - thus DC15 Reflex reduces damage to 9.

Standard to throw bomb at culiist 8, adjacent cultists take 7 damage (DC15 reflex for half). Crit damage is 19. Also lights the web on fire.

Heading out for my sons Birthday party, I should have covered everyone who had posted. Justin and Aarakess has rools or decisions to make

Kilthan steps around the Cultist giving him a swat with his Waraxe as he passes, killing him. Dryn'taka then throws a bomb at the cultist near Kilthan blowing him to bits and injuring everyone nearby

Kilthan unless Dryn'taka can eliminate your square for damage, make a reflex DC 15 for 3 or fail for 7

Aarakess, while logically that you work, I think we should stick to the templates for 15' cone, so you could either choose to target #4, #6, and #9 or you could choose #2, #3, and #9

Kilthan you do not need to make a save, Dryn'taka can eliminate damage to your square, which I was pretty sure she could do but couldn't remember for sure.

Justin moves over to one of the tieflings and connects with a devastating blow, leaving the tiefling very wounded but still alive.

That leaves aarakess to decide which cultists she will target and then I will resilve their turns

I aim the Burning Hands at 2, 3, 9.

Damage is 8 from Burning Hands + 5 from burning web. DC15 reduces the Burning Hands damage by 1/2.

This was a doozy to resolve

Aarakess's spell goes off and one cultist #9 dies while the web is burning while the other two cultitst and badly injured yet survive.

All the remaining trapped cultist break free of the web. One cultist #4 steps out of web willingly into the burning web and attempt a trip on Aarakess. Not really clear on this, but would the cultist take damage from burning webs from moving here or only when it is initially on fire? He will do it either way even if it means his death....they be crazy.

Trip Cultist #4 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Two other cultists attempt to trip Aarakess and the second one finally does following up with the remaining one #1 trying to stab here with no success as the webbing between her and him is preventing a clean shot. Deciding to give up on the longspear, the cultists drops it and pulls out a dagger while moving closer

Trip Cultist #3 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Trip Cultist #2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 *Tripped*

Attack Cultist #1 1d20 + 1 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 4 - 4 = 8 *Miss*

Over on the other side of the room, the less injured tiefling #2 jumps into the web heading for the back hallway. He is partially successful but after 15' gets tangled up. The other cultist manages to get free of the webbing and tries to trip Kilthan with no success.

Trip Cultist #6 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

The other tiefling drops his bow and draws his greataxe, taking a swing at Justin but his wounds leave no strength to his swing.

Greataxe Tiefling #1 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Did the Tiefling run through the square occupied by the cultist? Or did he run by Justin/Kilthan and do they get AoO? Also, are you including that the webs are difficult terrain?

Round 5

Not expecting this many cultists to have survived the first blaze, Aarakess reaches into her pocket and grasps a small pearl. Calling on the power of the pearl, she again casts Burning Hands.

Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 vs DC17 <-- not sure if there are any other modifiers for casting from a prone position.

Burning Hands: 3d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 4) = 8 <-- Should get all 4 of them. DC15 Reflex for 1/2 damage.

Using the Pearl of Power for this.


Tiefling moved through before the cultist moved there> No AoO and yes including difficult terrain or he would have gotten farther.

Aarakess casts burning hanfs again killing the previously burned cultists, but the one that had up to this point not taken any damage survives.

You cannot move as you had to 5' step to kill the tiefling Move action remains sorry for the misunderstanding

Rohara watches as one of the teiflings attempts to flee. The woman's grip tightens on her mace and she starts forward moving to avoid the flaming webs. Once she closes the distance she strikes down hard with her weapon, trying to put down the evil cultist before he can get away.

Rohara weaves through the burning webs and cracks the tiefling with her mace. You also get an AoO as he moves away

The tiefling seems unaffected by the burning webs and moves through the remaining web with ease. He yells out in another language to the door south then works the half webbed double doors, managing to open one side.
