Kithan nods, "I'll have to stay within range of the whisper spell, but I can do that." He adds, "If we don't want to risk Aara's familiar, I could take on some of the aspects of an otter, giving me the ability to swim well... but not so much in terms of fitting well in the pipe."

The tiny familiar crawls into the machinery and is able to move down the pipes easily. It doesn't take long for her to report back that her way is blocked by a green light and there is a horrible sight ahead.

I'll just post the room description from her view, as she describes what she sees

A huge, vaulted chamber lies ahead, dimly illuminated by a green light. There a colossal, disgusting behemoth similar to a gigantic, greenish yellow grub lies on a heap of rubble, bones, and rotting foulness. The creature seems immersed in a magic slumber, and its horrid body seems to pulsate with an abominable, ever-increasing power. Access to the room and the creature is blocked by a green sphere of force equal in diameter to the size of the room itself.

Knowledge (religion) Cieslx: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Cieslx recognizes what the creature is, it is called an Ulgurstasta a gargantuan undead worm like creature

Knowledge (religion) Aarakess: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Knowledge (religion) Rohara: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27

Rohara knows that an Ulgurstasta is intelligent but has no language. It typically will bite and swallow everything in range. Inside its body it will bathe a creature with necromatic acid until it turns into an undead creature. It can later spew up the acid as a breath weapon and release those undead to aid it in attacking.

Aarakess knows this and that an Ulgurstasta can extend millions of tiny tendrils in a 40' range around it to stop non magical ranged weapons from hitting it, damage everything around it, and make it harder to aim with melee weapons while in the tendril aura. Also it is immune to acid and cold, resistant to magic spells, and resistant to damage from anything but magical piecing weapons.

Kilthan checks out the door to the east. He listens and hears nothing from the other side. He heads back as they talk about what Ciselx sees.

Aarakess, I forgot one thing. As Cieslx got blocked by the force bubble, it did damage to her.

Somehow Cieslx's hp were way off. She should have had 1/2 my hp, which is 42, not 22. Her AC and Will was not updated. I assume I have not been leveling her for a while.

Does Spell Resistance (13) affect the Force Shield?

------
After getting blasted from the force shield, Cieslx flies back.

Aarakess, after hearing what is there, relates it to the rest of the party.

Some type of force shield. Looks like it is constrained, but the fact that it is here is very bad.

Kilthan shrugs, "No, but it wouldn't do to have this thing feed on those that fall in the arena, either. If it's an evil that spreads, then I think we're best to stop that spread -- 'specially since we have the magic to heal up today."

He sighs, "Still, you're right, never hurts to check the other way first."

Aarakess Good news/bad news. Good news is that Cieslx made the save, it is DC 20. Bad news is as I looked it up the damage is actually 12d6, I must have halved in in my memory thinking about the save. So 6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 3, 2, 6) = 25 actually it was 47 damage for half is 24. SR does not apply.

Kilthan opens the door. The air in this large hall is particularly noisome. The northern wall is almost completely covered by the remains of a wooden bookshelf, whose contents have long ago crumbled to dust. The southern part of the aisle is occupied by dusty pieces of ancient, ruined machinery that may have once comprised sets of semi-automated combat dummies.

Inside the room are six more Spawn of Kyuss and another creature that has a thick tangle of discolored entrails that clings to this lurching skeleton’s torso and winds upward to loll from its jaw like a clawed tongue.

The writhing intestines in this skeletal horror mark it as a mohrg. It is undead.

Knowledge (Religion) DC 23:

Mohrgs are the animated corpses of unrepentant mass murderers and similar ilk. The touch of a mohrg’s long, clawed tongue paralyzes living creatures.

Knowledge (Religion) DC 28:

These powerful undead latch onto foes with their bony hands, then continue to attack them while grappling.

Round 3

Initiative Order - Rohara, Aarakess (Paralyzed), Skorhald (Panicked), Justin, Kilthan (Panicked), Spawn of Kyuss, Mohrg

Spawn of Kyuss AC 11 T 9 FF 12 CMD 16

Mohrg AC 23 T 15 FF 18 CMD 30

Lizardman hp=108/108(AC24/ff24/t11) {F=+12/R=+6/W=+9} CMD 26 Paladin 10 (Shining Knight) Smite evil 4/4 - Lay on hands 7/7

uoh, fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Justin decides he needs to grab Aarakess and go. The dwarf is of negligible weight as he withdraws with her.

I think no AoOs. Just don't know how much grabbing Aarakess cuts into the 40' dbl move.

No Fort needed, nothing hit you. You cannot withdraw with her in hand, you would have to take AoO x3 and move at half speed (20'). You may want to change your mind, depending on Rohara's action. Remember if the spawn are cleared the other party members can rejoin

Lizardman hp=108/108(AC24/ff24/t11) {F=+12/R=+6/W=+9} CMD 26 Paladin 10 (Shining Knight) Smite evil 4/4 - Lay on hands 7/7

Justin rethinks his retreat, giving Rohara an opportunity to cause more damage.

If Rohara can get 1, I can get 2 most likely

Female Dwarf Witch/10 - (HP: 64/92; AC 16; FF 14; Touch 16; Fort +7/+9; Ref +6/+8; Will +9/+11; Init +2; Per +13/+17

They are all already pretty hurt after the first channel. A single blow from Justin should take each one down I would think.

I'll give Rohara until the afternoon to decide her action. She has 6 of 7 channels left so I am guessing hitting 4 undead with that would be the choice.

Rohara will channel twice in quick succession quick channel again to destroy the undead She has labeled 7d6 as damage, but I believe at 9th it is 5d6. Rohara when you see this please review it. At this point I am changing the earlier 20/10 damage to 13/6.

Rohara Channel #1 (5 of 7 left): 5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 4, 5) = 16

Rohara Channel #1 (4 of 7 left): 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 6, 5) = 19

SoK #1 Save #1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
SoK #1 Save #1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 = 21
SoK #1 Save #1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Mohrg Save #1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

SoK #1 Save #2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
SoK #1 Save #2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 = 14
SoK #1 Save #2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9
Mohrg Save #2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Rohara channels twice in quick succession after the first channel barely injures the Spawn. The second one is devastating and wipes out all three spawn leaving only the mohrg. Rohara yells down the hall for the others to come back now that the Spawn are dead.

Justin you are up.

I moved Kilthan, Jag, and Skorhald as a double move back into the action and its represented on the map

Lizardman hp=108/108(AC24/ff24/t11) {F=+12/R=+6/W=+9} CMD 26 Paladin 10 (Shining Knight) Smite evil 4/4 - Lay on hands 7/7

we bought the nifty phylactery of channeling for Rohara. Did the Mohrg attack from 15' or 20'? I can do a full attack with lunge if it is 15' after a step.

Ok, see it now. I missed it when looking earlier. Adjusting Damage on Mohrg

Mohrg can move 30' so it is 20' from you now and would move 15' to you and 15' back. So with a 5' step you would be within 15'

2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10

Lizardman hp=108/108(AC24/ff24/t11) {F=+12/R=+6/W=+9} CMD 26 Paladin 10 (Shining Knight) Smite evil 4/4 - Lay on hands 7/7

Justin charges the Mohrg with his axe activating his litany of the righteous.

Justin activates his litany of the righteous.

Litany of Righteousness Will DC 15:

School evocation [good, language dependent]; Level inquisitor 3, paladin 2

Casting Time 1 swift action

Components V, S, DF

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)

Target one creature

Duration 1 round

Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes

Calling down a litany of anathema, you make an evil more susceptible to the attacks of good creatures. If the target is evil, it takes double damage from attacks made by creatures with a good aura (from a class feature or as a creature with the good subtype). If the target also has the evil subtype; when it is hit with attacks made by creatures with a good aura, it is also dazzled for 1d4 rounds. If this spell targets a nonevil creature (or one that lacks the evil subtype), it has no effect, and the spell is wasted.

While subject to this spell, the target cannot be the target of another spell that has the word "litany" in the title.

damage if fail: 1d12 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29
Don't know if smite damage is doubled
dazzled rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Will Save Morgh: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

So if the spell is saved it isn't dazzled or takes double damage?

Slam Attack Mohrg: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 5) + 5 = 15

Slam Attack Mohrg: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 *Hit*
Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 1) + 5 = 11

Slam Attack Mohrg: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 *Hit* Fort Save DC 21 vs Paralysis Minutes Paralyzaed: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Grapple (Grab): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28 *Grappled*

The Mohrg his Justin once with a slam and follows up with the paralyzing tongue. It then grabs him and tries to hold him in place.
