The square to the NE of #11 is at a corner and as such would give you cover and eliminating an AoO from him.

Quintus hustles back around, where he heard Rowena in combat. He's unable to land a blow on one of the tengus threatening her, though.

Can Trevor use the Reposition Manoever to pull Kelkzar out from under the tengu? Similarly, can I use Drag to do the same depending on what/how Trevor wants to do?


Trevor can't do that, but he could just grab and pull him back half of his movement. That would provoke.

Quintus, beset from two directions, tries to take down the wounded tengu that just dropped Rowena. The bird is unable to dodge completely out of the way of the priest's blow, sustaining a shallow slash.

Trevor, watching his friends fall around him clenches his jaw and mumbles for the Goddess to impart him with the strength to vanquish this evil!

He raises his shield again, swinging from underneath with his flail, using his legs to give momentum to his weapon.

I think my shield prevented me from being hit by the acid splash (Touch AC 11+2). Let me know. If not, I still have the protection hex. If it's a hit, then I lose it.

Tengu #15 moves over to Quintus clacking a command at #14 which doesn't seem too happy about it. The tengu waits until #10 moves to the other side of Quintus before attacking with flank Trevor you get an AoO on #15 as it moves away from you.

The tengus work very well together and you can tell they have trained as teams. Teamwork feat Outflank You also notice with daggers they are much more adept when flanking then when they attack with other weapons like they have trained almost exclusively in them at the expense of other weapons knife master. The crossbows are light crossbows but hitting harder then one would expect , possibly magically enhanced in some way. gravity bow

Trevor roars in outrage at the cheap tactics and swings at the evading tengu.

He then curses as he fails to hit the tengu. "I hope it works better on you!" he shouts at the approaching one.

Round 7:

Raising his bloody blade, Quintus focuses his attention on the apparent leader. Despite the guidance from his spell, his swing is just beginning to go wide...and then Jirin's hex slows the tengu's dodge down just enough that the cleric connects. After attacking, Quintus takes a 5' step north.

Scimitar attack on #15, blessed: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18
Damage on #15: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

ETA his movement, which I'd forgotten.


Trevor misses the Tengu leader as the secret door closes behind him, but after the other Tengu steps up, Trevor connects with a solid blow killing the bird-man.

On the other side, Quintus slashes the Tengu leader leaving another wicked cut in its flesh.

Quintus just updated his movement, Trevor you have your move action remaining if you wish to take it

Trevor moves towards the sound of battle, letting his flail and shield drop to the floor and drawing his greataxe. "Enough is enough!"

Move 20' south to get to the two Tengus attacking Quintus. Let me know if I'm doing too much with the shield and flail. I'm not sure.

Jirin moves to Kelkzar's side in Trevor's advancing wake and calls on the wand's powers to heal the fallen inquisitor.

Jirin will move to the square to Kelkzar's left.


Dropping held items is a free action so shouldn't be a problem.

Jirin moves over to Kelkzar and brings the fallen inquisitor awake

Rauno is up last (and I suppose Kelkzar)


Focusing in on the one-on-one struggle against the avian, Rauno attempts to strike a blow for mammals everywhere!

Kelkzar looks over his wounds and realizing he is still in pretty bad shape casts a spell to further heal himself. Casts cure light wounds 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Feeling a little better, he gets back to his feet.

The Tengu boss attempts to move through Quintus's square with acrobatics

Acrobatics 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 vs DC 23 Fails and provokes an AoO from Quintus

Wanting to make it to the other side of Quintus, it tries to tumble through again

Acrobatics 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 vs DC 23

Tengu #10 slides over, closes the secret door and attacks Quintus with flank

Dagger #10 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 4 = 20 *Hit*

Round 8:

Taken aback by the tengu leader's attempt to leap over him, Quintus' attack of opportunity merely ruffles its feathers, and the other tengu's stab finally penetrates his defenses. Trevor's timely arrival inspires him, though, and he focuses all of his attention on the leader. Once again, Jirin's hex makes all the difference in the world, slowing the tengu down just enough so that it is unable to dodge out of the way. Quintus' blade burns with Sarenrae's fury as it strikes home, inflicting a terrible blow.

AoO on #15: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 = 13
Standard attack on #15: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 = 24

Nice job with the Evil Eye, Jirin--that's 16 points Quintus couldn't have done without it.

Quintus slashes the leader, flame dancing on his weapon singing some of the tengu leader's feathers. Quintus, you had 6 from last round due to it too!

I was counting that; six last round, and an extra ten this round when the crit confirmed. And he's *still up*?! After eating crits from Kelkzar and Quintus, plus change? I sure hope this is the boss, because otherwise we're toast. (Speaking of things I am grateful for, deciding to keep the +1 chain has saved Quintus from a world of hurt.)

Taking a look left when he reaches the intersection with Jirin, he turns and flies straight toward the tengu he can see at the end of the hall. #15 The half-orc raises his falchion and brings it down in an attempt at a crushing blow.
