Round 6

Reinvigorated by Lessien's potion, Rowena moves forward to L5 (dropping the longspear - for some reason, I had thought that monks had all simple weapons, but they just have short spears) and, fighting defensively still, grabs at 4...

Throw attempt on 4: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 1 - 4 = 21

and tosses him into 2.
1d20 + 9 + 1 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 1 - 4 - 4 = 10
Cultist 4 drops to the ground, having bounced off 2 with not quite enough force to take them both down. (If Kelkzar kills either of those cultists, just change her targets accordingly. She's trying to clear the way to the tieflings.)

Flurry of Maneuvers has got to be the worst worded ability in Pathfinder. Why oh why didn't they just say that instead of a flurry of blows at the attack bonuses listed on that chart, you can make combat maneuvers instead. If you wish to make an attack instead of a maneuver as part of the flurry, you suffer an additional -2 penalty to that attack roll. So much simpler than the stacking penalties at weird levels, and the craziness at levels 1 and 2 where you are making two maneuvers each with a different base attack bonus.
I don't know where I've been getting the +9/+7 business with her two-trip flurries. They should be +7/+7. I know it's a relic of second level where one of her trips had a higher CMB because of the Flurry bit, but that went away once she hit level three and ALL of her maneuvers used her hit dice instead of BAB. Sorry about the errors. If it helps, I've been forgetting about her +1 attack bonus for attacks of opportunity all this battle, too.

Draft post eaten by a brief Paizo store outage and I have the same thought as Rowena. BTW, there may be a FAQ on flurry. Perhaps still poorly worded.

Round 5
Swift Action: Switch to Judgement of Sacred Justice +1
Kelkzar thrusts his falchion at the uninjured cultist while attempting to bite the one that has already been hurt.
Attack #4 (Falchion, Bless, Judgement) 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 13

Damage #2 (Bite) 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
5-foot step if either of them go down. Preferred spot is L6

Rowena, Good to get the attacks down, it can be confusing. I don't think it matters in the end as long as we get it figured out from here on

The door down the hall opens for the tiefling and he steps through as he is chugging a potion.

From the north a large creature on a chain held by the other tiefling comes bursting down the hallway. The back of this horse-sized creature rises in a steep slope. Its tiny red eyes are crusted with filth and its bristly flank crawls with flies. The tiefling releases it off the chain and gives it a command in another language, the creature's eyes focusing on the party.

Rauno mentally runs through all of the illustrations and descriptions of beasts, natural and unnatural, that this monstrosity may be, but the charging horror seems far greater than any description he can attach to it!

With the Dawnflower's blessings bolstering his courage, Rauno manages to keep his ground. He pushes the natural fear aside enough to concentrate on a new spell even as he loads another bolt into his crossbow.

Cast Gravity Bow, load crossbow and step to N3.

Kelkzar's slice puts the cultist down. Both he and Rauno can't quite grip what this beast could be in the moment as the large beast stares you down.

He drops his falchion and snatches up one of the longspears left in the room by the cultists. He plants the butt of the spear against the floor and braces himself for the charge of the monster.

Nope love out of the box thinking. Love it! I was worried it was going to ruin Kelkzar's thinking but it all worked out![/ooc]

Rauno brings up the crossbow and aligns it with the boar. Seeing his allies' brave manuever take the steam out of the boars charge, Rauno tries to predict its motion to best place a finishing bolt.

I'm worried about giving them too much time to brew up trickery. Rowena and Lessien, can you two watch the double doors while we get the door so they don't unleash another beast on us?" Kelkzar picks up his falchion and goes loping down the hall toward where we can hear the tieflings attempting to bar the door.

Nice job everyone! I do think we should keep pressing them. We're all close to full health and have used a fairly minimal amount of resources. We should take advantage of Trevor still having the Bull's Strength. I probably can't keep the Judgement active, but if I can, I'll switch it to an AC bonus. "I still say we try to go through the door. Trevor and I can beat this down with those axes we found with the tiefling guards out by the elevators. We've got them in front of us right now and we know we hurt them. Better to try rooting them out. I suppose there are at least a couple other choices. We could see what is behind the other double doors. I'm worried about leaving these ones behind us though. They might be planning to slip in behind us, possibly with reinforcements. Our other choice is to withdraw back to the elevator and see if we can wait them out. We'll have a better tactical advantage if we can, but I worry about spending too much time down here."

So to go any further, you would have to use the other tiefling guard's mw greataxe or go through the unopened double door.

Or spend some time searching the areas the cultists came from (of course giving more time for the remaining defenders to dig in)
