Aargh! And here I am with a terrible character for performance combat in the perfect situation! Curses! Trevor, quick, switch that retcon feat again, you've got the Charisma to pull it off :-D
Kelkzar Redjaw |
Ok, one more change thanks for a helpful suggestion from the studio audience :)
Starting at: 24,911 gp +66 gp from last time is 24,977.
- Sell or return to party loot: +1 lamellar (steel) armor (650 gp; total 25,627 gp)
- Sell or return to party loot: +1 cloak of resistance (500 gp; total 26,127 gp)
- Take ring of protection +2 from party loot (4,000 gp, total 22,127 gp)
- Buy cloak of fangs (2,800 gp, 19,327 gp)
- Buy sandals of lightest step (5,000 gp; total 14,327 gp)
- Buy mithral breastplate (4,200 gp; total 10,127 gp)
- Upgrade +1 falchion to +1 keen falchion (3 slots of Rauno time, 3,000 gp; total 7,127 gp)
- Upgrade mithral breastplate to +1 (0.5 slots of Rauno time, 500 gp; total 6,627 gp)
- Upgrade belt of giant strength +2 to +4 (6 slots of Rauno time, 6,000 gp; 627 gp)
I'll wait on the upgrade to the amulet of natural armor until another time.
So, that means I'll use 3.5 slots of Rauno's time now and reserve an additional 6 slots for the future when it can get worked in for the belt upgrade.
GM Blood |
Game last night we didn't make too much progress as we had leveling to the 19th (a lot was already done, but still took time). Then we had magic items to sell and buy. Then some talking and stories before finally starting then ordering food, then starting and then eating food that was ordered. Then finally really starting. We got a small chunk done before one of the player's wife called freaked out (They seem to be having a lot of weird things going on in their house. Like ghost stuff potentially)
So he had to leave early which worked out ok as the wife was home so the rest of us just talked until we crashed. But, still plodding along towards the end!
Rauno Redpath |
Here's a tenative schedule for crafting. I'd love for anyone to let me know if I'm missing any of their requests, or if they want certain things prioritized differently. I put Rauno's haversack first, so he can carry around all the stuff he needs to continue crafting as the story moves on. Otherwise, he'll hold his personal crafting until he finishes the items for the others. After the fifteen days, he can continue to improve on enchantments while people sleep.
Day one: Rauno handy haversack 1 of 2 and 2 of 2.
Day two: Trevor plate to +2 1 of 3 and 2 of 3.
Day three: Trevor plate to +2 3 of 3, Rowena headband 1 of 4.
Day four: Rowena headband 2 of 4 and 3 of 4.
Day five: Rowena headband 4 of 4, Kelkzar keen falchion 1 of 6.
Day six: Kelkzar falchion 2 of 6 and 3 of 6.
Day seven: Kelkzar falchion 4 of 6 and 5 of 6.
Day eight: Kelkzar falchion 6 of 6 and Quintus scimitar to keen 1 of 6.
Day nine: Quintus scimitar to keen 2 of 6 and 3 of 6.
Day ten: Quintus scimitar 4 of 6 and 5 of 6.
Day eleven: Quintus scimitar 6 of 6 and Trevor slippers 1 of 2.
Day twelve: Trevor slippers 2 of 2 and Rowena amulet 1 of 10.
Day thirteen: Rowena amulet 2 of 10 and 3 of 10.
Day fourteen: Rowena amulet 4 of 10 and 5 of 10.
Day fifteen: Rowena amulet 6 of 10 and 7 of 10.
That leaves finishing Rowena’s amulet (1.5 days), Trevor’s haversack (1 day), Kelkzar’s chain shirt to +2 (3 days), Kelkzar’s amulet to +2 (3 days), Kelkzar’s belt to +4 (3 days), Rauno’s cloak (2 days), Rauno’s Bonded Object (2 days), Rauno’s amulet adding natural armor (1.5 days), Rauno’s belt (2.5 days), Rauno’s boots (1 day), Rauno’s arrow magnet and bead (1 day).
Edit: Also, if an enchantment can be broken down into steps, which step should come first? For example, Rowena's belt of physical might (strength, dexterity). In two days, Rauno can create a belt of mighty strength, and in three more days improve it to the belt of physical might. Would you want the strength complete first, or the dexterity?
Kelkzar Redjaw |
I changed mine up on you Rauno. Falchion is fine, but I'm going to have you enchant a mithral breastplate for me instead of the chain and I'm dropping the amulet. Still hope to do the belt eventually. See post 3 above yours.
Rauno Redpath |
Before I reorder Rauno's crafting schedule, are we sure that no one wants to consider one of these babies? 1,250 gp, or 1,875 to add it to an existing magical neck slot item.
Kelkzar Redjaw |
I'll go ahead and do it and drop the cloak of fangs (keeping the cloak of resistance). Will be adding it to Kelkzar's amulet of natural armor. As cool as the cloak is, the golembane scarab is likely to be more useful.
Trevor the Yellow |
I had cash left, so I'm getting one :)
Quintus of Taldor |
Still considering what to do with Quintus' L9 feat. There was an interesting one in Part 3 of Mummy's Mask:
Your channeled energy wards off disease.
Prerequisites: Able to cast remove disease or the ability to cure disease with a mercy, channel positive energy class feature.
Benefit: When you channel positive energy to harm or turn undead creatures, any undead creatures in the area lose the ability to cause disease with their melee and ranged attacks for 1d4+1 rounds. If an undead creature successfully saves against your channeled energy, this duration is reduced to 1 round for that creature. Immunity to positive energy negates this ability.
When you channel positive energy to heal living creatures, any living creatures in the area gain a +4 sacred bonus on saving throws against disease for 1d4+1 rounds. Creatures not healed by positive energy receive no benefit.
GM B, 1) do you think it would be worth taking, given what we'll be facing; and 2), if so, would you allow it?
GM Blood |
1) You know at least the spawn of kyuss that you fought has the ability to inflict disease on a hit. And Eligos said those were the least of the undead Kyuss created. The worms that you encounted isn't a disease, but with what Eligos told you I am ok with letting you know that:
While a worm is inside a victim, a remove curse or remove disease effect destroys it, and a dispel evil or neutralize poison effect delays its progress for up to as long as an hour.
If you remember it can transfer worms during its slam or by ranged touch.
2)I have no problem with this feat if you choose to take it.

The time spent in the Arena will count as adventuring, the slower crafting time applies. You may want to shift Rowena'a Amulet for something that take three or less slots so it is done then begin on it after the tournament.
Day 0 is 6PM at the feast so that will be the last slot. (Currently Rowena amulet 3 of 10.) Day 1 through 5 scheduled in the arena evens would net you time for 2.5 slots. (2,500 gp)

GM Blood |
I'm going with the Empyreals and with Quintus as the Leader unless I hear differently. Quintus seems like a good choice between being from the city and having a decent charisma/diplomacy.
Now the question is, do you guys want to try and bluff you ranking up or down during the dinner? Not your party strong suit, but may help in your betting if you choose to bet on yourselves (The lower the ranking, the better the odds pay out) or if you want to grab attention you can raise your ranking.
Let me know, I will do the rolling.
Rowena Lordail |
I think we want to avoid attention, don't we? Slip under the radar, as it were. Can they make Sense Motive checks to ascertain the actual (roughly speaking) ability level of their competitors? That might be a better use of the Free Dinner.
Rowena Lordail |
I just meant as a counter to other teams' Bluff checks, using Sense Motive to determine that the guy talking about meteorswarms and wishes is covering up his maximum of magic missile and acid splash, or that the big scary fighter actually looks like a hardened warrior and not a farrier in stolen armour.
I understand if you just want to go with set DCs for the Bluff checks to simplify things.
