But the AoMF has been errata'd to cost much less.

Edit: they cost 4000, not 5,000, so she can't afford them yet. Instead, I'll have her buy a MW pole arm of some kind, and get it +1'd.

AC 26/T 26/FF 20; F/R/W +14/+15/+14; Max HP 111; Current HP 110 Effects:

Trying to decide between a bardiche and a guisarme. Bardiche has nicer damage and crit range, but guisarme is a trip weapon (meaning he can drop it if he fails badly). Given how good at tripping she will soon be, I don't see her failing so badly at many tripping checks. Can she find or send away for a bardiche (and have it made MW like Quintus' scimitar)?

You sure you don't want a Bohemian ear-spoon?

You can get a mw bardiche no problem

AC 26/T 26/FF 20; F/R/W +14/+15/+14; Max HP 111; Current HP 110 Effects:

Okay, MW bardiche purchased, and ready to be made +1.

I am still working on detailing Rauno's "down" time. Here's the first sixteen days.

Time allocation:

Day 1. No crafting or scribing. Meeting with the mayor, introducing Allustan and Jirin and working with Jirin.

Day 2. Start crafting Trevor’s belt (day 1 of 4). He requests of Allustan numerous scrolls that are beyond Rauno’s ability at this point, and starts to copy from Allustan’s spell book (Dispel Magic, Fireball). He works late into the night copying spells that he thinks will make him more effective. Eight hours sleep, 4 hours working with Allustan, Jirin, basic needs.

Day 3. Continues Trevor’s belt (day 2 of 4). He continues with Allustan’s spell book, not working as late as before (Fly, Alarm). . Eight hours sleep, 4 hours working with Allustan, Jirin, basic needs.

Day 4. Continues Trevor’s belt (day 3 of 4). He continues copying from Allustan’s book. (Displacement, Silent Image). . Eight hours sleep, 4 hours working with Allustan, Jirin, basic needs.

Day 5. Lessien’s funeral. Rauno doesn’t craft or scribe. Indeed, he buys two bottles of fine wine and makes short work of them.

Day 6. Rauno wakes late and buys some alchemist’s kindness. He doesn’t scribe, but finishes up Trevor’s belt (day 4 of 4). . 14 hours sleep, 2 hours basic needs.

Day 7. Rauno starts on the scimitar for Quintus (day 1 of 2). He continues work with Allustan’s book (Explosive Runes, Stinking Cloud). Eight hours sleep, 2 basic needs.

Day 8. Rauno finishes the work on the scimitar (day 2 of 2) and buries himself in his work, copying spells (Water Breathing, Deep Slumber). Eight hours sleep, 2 hours basic needs.

Day 9. Rauno starts work on Jirin’s belt (day 1 of 4). He avoids the others, moving quietly from his chamber where he crafts to Allustan’s library. (Copies Gentle Repose, Shocking Grasp, Floating Disc, Charm Person). Two hours personal needs, eight hour sleep.

Day 10. Rauno continues on Jirin’s belt (day 2 of 4) and continues scribing (Magic Weapon, Shield, Fog Cloud, Gust of Wind). Two hours personal, eight hours sleep.

Day 11. Rauno continues of Jirin’s belt (day 3 of 4) and continues scribing (Knock, Mirror Image, Spider Climb). 2 hours personal, eight hours of sleep.

Day 12. Rauno finishes Jirin’s belt (day 4 of 4). When he does finish it, he emerges and spends some time with the others. Before going to bed, he finishes copying from Allustan’s book (Resist Energy). Eight hours sleep, six hours personal and working with Jirin. He spends time shopping, selling his own crossbow and buying an everburning torch, a new spell book, some journal books and more scribing/crafting materials.

Day 13. Rauno starts Kelkzar’s falchion (day 1 of 2). Scribing from scrolls Lightning Bolt and Cat’s Grace. Eight hours sleep, 3 hours personal and working with Jirin.

Day 14. Rauno finishes Kelkzar’s falchion (day 2 of 2). Scribing from scrolls Fox’s Cunning and Liberating Command. Eight hours of sleep and four hours personal, helping Jirin and socializing.

Day 15. Rauno starts Rowena’s bardiche (day 1 of 2). Scribing from scrolls Protection from C/E/G/L, Unseen Servant, Detect Secret Doors, Touch of the Sea, Vanish, Bears Endurance. Eight hours sleeping and 1 hour personal.

Day 16. Rauno finishes Rowena’s bardiche(day 2 of 2). Scribing from scrolls Eagle’s splendor, Owls Wisdom. Eight hours sleep and 2 hours personal. In the evening, Rauno pulls over Filge’s spell book and just stares at it. The wizard determines he’s not ready to start in on it and instead pulls over a blank journal book. He starts writing about everything that happened and all that they faced.

Rauno:

Figure out 2 more days

AC 26/T 26/FF 20; F/R/W +14/+15/+14; Max HP 111; Current HP 110 Effects:

When Rauno is not working on her bardiche, Rowena is spending hours each day getting accustomed to the weapon. Once he is finished, she spends time getting used to the weapon with its enhancement.

GM:
Day 17.Kelkzar’s Armor enchanted (day 1 of 1). Scribing from Filge’s book Web, Scorching Ray, Magic Missile, Identify. Eight hours sleep, 2 hours personal.

Day 18. Kelkzar’s Cloak enchanted (day 1 of 1). Scribing from Filge’s book Daze, Bleed, Disrupt Undead, Touch of Fatigue. After just two hours of scribing spells, Rauno stops in frustration. The necromantic spells are something he’s avoided until now, and still finds it somewhat repulsive to be drawing on them. Rather than spend more time scribing from Filge’s book, he again turns to the journaling he started previously, continuing to put down in script the events of recent weeks. Eight hours enchanting, eight hours sleep, two hours scribing, one hour personal, five hours journaling.

I'll post a crafting summary for everyone and Rauno spending summary as soon as I can.

Rauno has crafted the following items: Trevor’s belt, Quintus’s scimitar, Jirin’s belt, Rowena’s bardiche and Kelkzar’s falchion, armor and cloak. Next up is Kelkzar’s belt, which Rauno will work on as events allow.

Rauno’s spending:

Rauno has available to spend 4851 gp, 9 sp (starting cash, treasure share, selling crossbow).

Rauno spends 166 gp on some goods (everburning torch, 2 bottles fine wine, alchemist’s kindess, second spell book, journal book).

Rauno spends 1650 gp when he asks Allustan to scribe some scrolls for him that will be useful to the group should they be called upon again, buying the necessary materials for Allustan as he recognizes Allustan is doing him a tremendous favor by sharing his knowledge and time (scrolls of Summon Monster IV, Wall of Fire, Dimension Door and Stone Skin).

Rauno spends 1120 gp on special inks and supplies to copy spells from Allustan’s spell book.

Rauno spends 1250 gp when he arranges to buy scrolls and the necessary supplies to scribe them into his spell book.

Rauno spends 470 gp on the supplies to copy Filge’s spell book, but only uses a portion of it during this time window.

That leaves him with 195 gp and 9 sp.
He has scrolls of Summon Monster IV, Wall of Fire, Dimension Door and Stone Skin.

He has copied from Allustan’s spell book:
1st level: Alarm, Silent Image, Shocking Grasp, Floating Disc, Charm Person, Magic Weapon, Shield.
2nd level: Fog Cloud, Gust of Wind, Knock, Mirror Image, Spider Climb, Resist Energy.
3rd level: Displacement, Explosive Runes, Gentle Repose, Stinking Cloud, Water Breathing, Deep Slumber, Dispel Magic, Fireball, Fly.

He has copied from scrolls:
1st level: Protection from C/E/G/L, Unseen Servant, Detect Secret Doors, Touch of the Sea, Liberating Command.
2nd level: Bear’s Endurance, Cat’s Grace, Eagle’s Splendor, Fox’s Cunning, Owl’s Wisdom.
3rd level: Lightning Bolt.

He has copied from Filge’s spell book:
Cantrips: Daze, Bleed, Disrupt Undead, Touch of Fatigue.
1st level: Identify, Magic Missile.
2nd level: Scorching Ray, Web.

Remaining to be copied from Filge’s spell book:
1st level: Cause Fear, Chill Touch, Ray of Enfeeblement.
2nd level: Command Undead, False Life, Ghoul Touch, Magic Mouth, Scare, Spectral Hand, Touch of Idiocy, Blindness/Deafness.

GM, let me know if you have any concerns or changes you want made.

Rauno, looks good and well organized. Thanks!

Not to mess up the current distribution, but to inform future ones: Rauno's crafting changes things a lot if loot items are counted at full price while similar items can be enchanted for half. What I mean by this is that it might have been better for Trevor, but worse for the group, if he had sold his plate and greataxe, which were counted in his share at full price, and then to ask Rauno to enchant them.

Am I missing something?

AC 26/T 26/FF 20; F/R/W +14/+15/+14; Max HP 111; Current HP 110 Effects:

Well, there's one system where we just divide everything equally based on market value, and if you choose to sell the item, you can and picket the gold.

The downside with it is characters with unusual equipment needs get gypped because they're always selling stuff, and so end up with half as much treasure. Of course, in party crafting compensates for that.

I'm not married to the spreadsheet's system, and I'll be the first to admit if has its share of bugs, but it does create numerically-balanced characters, and I think it works as an RP system. Everybody takes what they want, the party sells the rest and divvies up the resulting gold to top everybody up to the level of the person who took the most loot. Then they split the remaining gold evenly.

HP 45/54; Per +11, Trap +1; AC 15, Touch 14, Flat 11; Fort +5, Ref +8, Will +6

I think it's safe to say that as long as no one person gets all the "phat lewtz" while everyone else has to make do with little to nothing, we're all good with putting party needs ahead of counting individual shinies.

Would it make sense to value items we keep at half price (basically what we would earn from selling or would it would take to craft)?

Thanks for calling it out. That Ragathiel sure is badass, eh? Kelkzar's got a tough deity/role model to live up to.

Going to definitely be watching the feat(s) and/or prestige class required to get those boons. I'm definitely going to be achieving that Obedience a number of times in this campaign :)

From the discussion so far, three main options:

A-Fire at the leader
B-Fire at the ones holding the tree/ram
C-Let them go through, but put an enlarged tank/web at the entrance to block them/cut a few off.

I suggest having most soldiers do B, while some of us do A (Kelkzar, Quintus), while the rest (Trevor, Rowena and Rauno) do C.

If we're lucky, they don't get the tree to the gate, their leader is dead or softened and Rauno can cut their group in two as they go through the gate. Rowena with Spider Climb could take the outer half and Trevor with Enlarged Person, could take the inner group.

Just a suggestion. Feel free to tear it apart!

Also, GM Blood, if you prefer we keep these discussions to a minimum and more IC, let me know. I'd understand. In that case, this is what Trevor bellows, but not as a suggestion, but as orders.

Either way is fine. Sometimes its easier to do it in discussion to get thoughts across.

Bear in mind that Rauno has not had time to rest and memorize spells, so he cannot cast Spider Climb again yet. I'm hoping the mage armor on him and Rowena haven't worn off by the time the fight starts. If Rauno had time to memorize spells, a couple of fireballs would go a LONG way to helping resolve this.

Does he have Web? Enlarged Person? Rowena can still jump down ;-P or join me at the gate.

Rauno, don't forget about your bonded object, you could use that to cast any spell from your spellbook.

I had to use the bonded object to cast Spider Climb. For some reason, I had thought we'd gotten to the keep earlier in the day and that there would have been time to recoup.

He does still have a casting of Haste and scrolls of Web. Enlarge Person is in a wand, and he has plenty of charges on that.

Ouch...

Haste was extremely useful before at least :)

In discussing tactics for the night, Rauno would let the others know that:

Spoiler:
Rauno still has memorized: Gravity Bow, Burning Hands, Feather Fall, Grease, Magic Missile, True Strike, Mirror Image, See Invisibility, Haste and Arcane Sight.

He has available on scrolls Scorching Ray and Web twice.

He has available in wands Enlarge Person, Unseen Servant, Shatter and Magic Missile.

Finally, he has several 4th level scrolls that he had intended to add to his spell book when he hit 7th level, but can use in a pinch: Summon Monster IV, Dimension Door, Stone Skin, Wall of Fire and Animate Dead.

BTW, did the soldiers have anything to say about what the two atypical lizardfolk had been seen to do?

So far their two squads have held back in reserve and have not attacked.

AC 27/14/25, HP 107/107 F: +10+1, R: +6+1, W: +14*+1

How many casualties have the lizardfolk taken in the fighting so far? (Not counting the fight against us, which bloodied their noses a little.)

Before you came the lizardfolk may have lost a squad or two (maybe a dozen). Some retreated into the swamp when they took prisoners when they managed to get inside. Your fight to the keep took out as many or more than the defenders have so far.

I'd say that Gravity Bow would help me most/best, but I'll likely be too busy doing other things to actually shoot with my bow in the first place - at least for the first number of rounds.

If anyone wants to do something yet in the couple rounds before they get to the gate let me know (magic missile wand? Spells, ranged, etc). Once at the gate I am going to roll initiative and get started on that.
