Enraptured - and I won't respond until after Novennia has had her chance too.

Krokod shakes Del's hand once the 'scene' is officially over, "I look forward to it." Del says everything with such certainty I'm not sure how much of his own fancy even HE falls for.

Wonderful!

Claps hands once as a sign of enjoyment and deal making. Standing up with proper posture and poise like the uppity - ups do. Quick change of features- anger upset- quick look at the director's servant with new expression- bulge eyes angry.

Underling! The tea! I would appreciate it while it is still hot. Please bring these two talented gentlemen a cup also to celebrate this union of extreme talent.

To the two men he has just met on stage.

Allow me to properly introduce myself; I am Danevalario Mushetti Daolen Saillec Mauroletchnia the second. Please just call me D. My family is of high breeding and is fond of long important names that bring honor to my ancestors.

Surely you have heard of either Daolen Red - Spear that had conquered many primitive barbarian tribes to the North and East to lessen their grip on the Riverkingdom Trade routes, and rewarded to his house the land he claimed. Or my grandfather of three greats, Saillec, that bested the mud thrower oger clan single handedly slaying all 20 ogre warriors with his enchanted magic blade; then sending all their heads to the Riverkingdoms as a show of allegiance and support to the Western keep.

Puff chest out, proud, brag, pompous.

Do not bat an eye my friends, nor quiver in awe, I am of that potent blood and I greet you as friends and equals!

Staring in stunned silence after the other performances, Novennia's mind suddenly wipes. She's left wondering what in the nine hells she'd been planning on doing, the memory just beyond her reach. After what she'd just seen, there was no way she could follow that.

Performance: 1d20 + 2 + 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (1) + 6 = 11

Though she takes the stage and tries, opting for the more martial aspects of the play and taking the role of a somewhat racy savage hurling songs and insults at an imaginary horde while cutting them down with her blade, she fumbles over her words several times, nearly falls over at one point, and ends by dropping her weapon on the stage. Face red as a beet, she hurries offstage, muttering an apology to the others as she goes.

I realized it wasn't going to get any better than this. Sorry, guys. I was looking forward to it, but I choked.

M Elf Wizard/3

Scienter thinks "at least I'm not the only one with stage fright."

Posting with my phone at present...

Robahl is delighted with the auditions and rushes onto the stage. "You're all hired. Wonderful wonderful."

He shakes you all by the hand - pumping your arms vigorously - but for Yix and Krokod he goes one better and embraces them, kissing them once on each cheek. "Stars...stars in the making."

And then he kisses Novennia on the hand, lingering slightly longer than he should, perhaps?

"The open roles on offer are; Lazarod - a sort of bard/monk rogue, Dentris - a sort of druid/sorceror/wizard, Tybain - a cleric/paladin type, Drovalid - very much a fighter type and we have two non-speaking parts; Farus - a comedic gypsy king and Monris - a fiendish dwarf."

"Meet me here tomorrow for your first dress rehearsal - meanwhile, here are some funds to buy some authentic trappings for your chosen role."

And you are each handed 6,000gp.

Thinking on how the roles could be broken down.

Yix (Lazarod - a sort of bard/monk rogue)
Sci (Dentris - a sort of druid/sorceror/wizard,)
Novennia (Drovalid - very much a fighter type)
Del (Farus - a comedic gypsy king)
Krokod (Monris - a fiendish dwarf)

Which means the role of Tybain (a cleric/paladin type) will not be filled.

@Krokod, this fixes your not being able to talk problem and since you are fiendish you can now use all the fire you want. I am thinking about buying myself a hat of disguise if you want to use it to look like a dwarf be my guess.

It may be wise to give Del a silent role... his maniac rambling may be too much on the stage. However he will be fighting Yix for the role of Lazarod as he thinks he would be better at it, he also thinks he is better than everyone at every thing.

A bard/monk rogue. I've never heard of anything more MAD in my life.

Despite his inability to speak other languages in stressful situations, I believe Krokad should have a larger role. He's just as good as Yix at this sort of thing.

Sci could always be the Dwarf... LOL

Yeah agree, just trying to get discussion open on how we should tackle this.

DM Birch- Do we get a copy or outline of the play so we know what supplies to buy ahead of time?

M Elf Wizard/3

I actually could play the dwarf via the miracle of the "Disguise Self" spell, but only for 10 minutes. Otherwise it looks like I'll be playing Dentris. A bard/monk/rogue is crazy, but then I guess that's why they call it dramatic license.

M Elf Wizard/3

Ooops, I mean I could play a dwarf for 30 minutes. With a break to recast, I could do it for an hour.

While he cannot be sure of the man's true intentions, Krokod makes a note to himself to warn Novennia to be cautious of what is sometimes referred to in large cities such as this one as the 'casting couch'.

"It shall be done, may the gods of theatre smile upon us all," Krokod doesn't blink at the amount of coin, not openly anyway.

His mind is already racing with which parts which people should play. When the director withdraws from them, or they from he, he says quietly, "Let's move along some place we can discuss the event in private. We have much to talk about."

I think Krokod could make due with his tongues curse and still impress. WHICH part he should play, I'm not sure. The 'kinda monk bard' or the 'paladin cleric' both might have the excuse of 'divine tongues' or 'odd oaths' to explain his babbling in ignan if it comes up

You can but whatever you want that you feel makes the character authentic. In truth, you can spend it on whatever you want - the director will be none the wiser

M Elf Wizard/3

I hope he doesn't mind my fabricating the necessary apparel with "Disguise Self" and saving the money for more practical matters.

I'm sure I could write off a magic greatsword as a 'business expense'. ;-)

Novennia clears her throat politely, slipping her hand out of Robahl's with a thin smile. At Krokod's suggestion, she nods. "Agreed, let's get out of here. I think I need to wash my hands, as well."

Slightly infuriated his acting did not get the praise of the director he walks out nose high and not making eye contact with the group. He takes his pouch, winches again, those close to him will hear him make a comment about the pouch being a little light. He walks away from the party and has the doorman call a cab for himself. He berates the help with the elegance of high noble birth and as he leaves he tips the doorman a gold.

At work. Will have a shopping list. Del will be carelessly be spending lots of gold, he is now a noble actor. He will be hanging around high class establishments all night and living the legendary high life. He spends 500 gold and hopefully makes some new friends.

I have no idea what we need to spend such an exorbitant amount of money on. I suppose some performance weapons, depending on what the script calls for. DM, what supplies does the script call for?

The director assumes you will use your theatrical flair to purchase whatever you see fit for your characters. If you can't spend it, keep it.
