Instead of Hexing, Molly brings up her crossbow and tries to shoot it without hitting Dieter and Storn.

Despite the cramped quarters, the ooze was easily destroyed, leaving Storn in the lead, mere paces from the upward-leading shaft. Something semi-translucent fell from the shaft with a plopping sound, then began schlupping its way towards the big man.

The second ooze popped under the metal assault, showering Storn's face with acidic flecks. That seemed to be the last of the pests, as the floor seemed still. Kipa, still looking around decided that there was only the way they came in, and the vertical shaft leading upwards. In the lead, Storn looked up to see an opening in the shaft high above. It was hard to tell how high, but it was at least 30 feet straight up a 3-foot wide shaft whose sides were slick with filth.

Kipa started the climb, but the smooth, slippery surface of the latrine shat didn't give him any purchase, and he slid back down, bouncing from Storn's shoulders and landing in the muck with a splat. Smirking slightly, Quill leaped up into the shaft and used his longer frame to brace himself across it. Working his shoulders and legs in a peristaltic-type fashion, he manged to get about halfway up the shaft when the light at the top was obscured. Quill cringed and turned away as the telltale sound of diarrhetic expulsion heralded what was to come. The warm liquid filth splattered the elf. Storn and Kipa each got a faceful, to as they looked up to watch the elf's progress.

I need a DC14 Fort save from Storn, Kipa, and Quill to avoid being nauseated. If Quill fails his save, he will fall down the shaft (currently about 15' up)

I think it was more than a piddle spot, Quill...

It was a pooplesplatter

The effluent continued, but Quill was steadily braced and managed to control his rising gorge to avoid convulsing with vomit. After what seemed like an eternity, but couldn't have been more than a minute or two, the dim light above returned as the blocking cheeks were removed from the privy seat. Quill resumed him climb, and eventually made it to the top. The privy hole was barely 6 inches across, and there was no way the elf could squeeze through it. But, the seat seemed to be a slab of wood no more than an inch or two thick.

6 inches across?! Dude...we humans aren't giants and our privy holes are much much larger than that! How...do...giants...? Oh...so many questions. Maybe they used to bullseye womp rats with their T-15s back home. I dunno.

Since ogres are twice the size of humans, that would be the equivalent of a human with a 3-inch privy hole. Talk about muscle control!

Dammit, make it 16" then :p

Sorry everyone, I've had a massively busy week. I've been trying to post in the games I am a player in, but haven't managed before now to get any GM posts in. Thanks for bearing with.

From where he was, Quill was unable to find a place to tie off the rope. Shrugging, he pulled his dagger and began prying at the boards above. By the time the first board was lifted away, his legs and shoulders ached from being pressed up against the privy shaft. But then the board pulled free and he was able to squirm his way up into the privy itself. From there, it was a simple matter of tying the rope to a nearby column and dropping it down the hole.

Map or no map, we need some guidance on our options, GM. (Sorry, I know you're slammed with work too.)

The latrine is a circular chamber, with tiled floor of blue and white. Many of the tiles are cracked or missing. The jakes lies in the center of the room, and the only exit is a set of doors. Narrow slits on the outer wall let in fresh air and light, and a rainwater catchbasin sits under one of the windows. The narrow hole that you climbed through was flush with the ground, making it clear that anyone that needed to use the jakes either sat right on the floor, or more likely squatted above it. A few stained empty chamberpots scattered against one wall showed the most likely use for the system.

Not sure what you mean. It was definitely in character...Quill is a moonstruck piner for his unrequited(?) Marigold. However, if what you meant was it aloud or to himself, it was definitely in italics and so unheard by others (without ESP).

In terms of being a better PbP player, I ask myself whether that should have been silent or spoken. If I was being a better player, it would have been aloud and allowed for more conversation and backstory and whatnot. However, since I just intended that post to be a push-post (to get things going), I chose not to.

Quill finishes his 4th bath...and considers another, but is also ready to move on.
