Bite vs Ursus, 20 hits: 1d20 ⇒ 6

The pathfinders continue to advance on the creature, delivering a flurry of attacks, bites, slashes, grapples, and arrows to down the creature and return it into the planes from where it came from.

Going to call battle here as the next round you will likely kill it off without it doing anything meaningful.

However, the portals continue strong, and monsters continue to pour out all over the city. Every corner of this town has Pathfinders fighting the good fight!

have 2 rounds of actions before the next wave. If no other prep, let me know. Alternatively there is an option for you to "tap out" if you're not confident advancing to the next (a little bit more difficult) wave.

Before the Pathfinders are able to catch their breath, a monstrosity in the form of a gargantuan snake slithers around the corner and closes down the street. Rathen, the creature is flying. Do you have some means to fly to reach it 40ft up?

Daxter recognises the creatures for what they truly are, beings of Ancient evil, also known as Wendigos. Wendigos haunt the minds of mortals, driving them to desperation and, ultimately, cannibalistic madness. They enjoy whittling down prey before they strike, trailing victims for days, even weeks, while plaguing their journeys with nightmares and foul weather.

Wendigo's are known to be very resistant towards magic effects, and have do not feel cold. They can be hurt better with weapons imbued with magic made of cold iron. DR 15/cold iron and magic; Immune cold, fear; SR 28

Furhtermore, he knows of their abilities. Wendigo's can create dream hauntings , akin to nightmare but those falling to near death undergo wendigo psychosis, a transformation turning them into the evil creatures themselves. They are known to also create chilling howls, those who hear it fall scared and afraid. And lastly, their claws are especially deadly, if both claws hit, it is known to create lots of hurt to a creatures psyche. Special Attacks: dream haunting, howl, rend (2 claws, 1d8+13 plus 4d6 cold plus 1d4 Cha damage), wendigo psychosis

Will wait to see the outcome of Rathen's retcon before updating. I believe the +5 bow for Bishop should do the trick to overcome DR.

Without skipping a beat, Bishop finds the mark once more. His arrows penetrate the Wendigo's thick hide assistant by the magic imbued from the bow. He seems to be heavily injured with ooze like substances flowing from his arrow wounds.

Still with his injuries, he moves gracefully in a creepy manner around Rathen making his way closer, slightly descending towards the rest of the party. Upon reaching, he delivers a howl sounding most foul, spine chilling, and probably the worst thing most people would have heard in their life time. Most people will cower in fear if not of sound mind.

In the moment of the eerie howl, majority of the Pathfinders find themselves terrified and are unable to act due to the fear. In the moment, Dove shines out like a flickering light in the darkness, illuminating hope. Reacting quickly, he turns to Bishop to alleviate him of his worries by bestowing some healing.

Bishop breaks free from his curse and turns his weapon once more, delivering powerful magical shots towards the Wendigo. The creature howls a blood curling scream as it takes the pain, but eventually is bested by Bishop and withers to it's death.

Rathen, somewhat away from the danger, shakes off the howling and flies in at the very end in hopes to save the day! But he arrives a little late and is only greeted by the dead corpse of the Wendigo floating down to the earth.

You are able to pick up the Runecarved Key from the downed assassin, but looking around, you noticed other able bodied pathfinders chasing the same assassin down the other equally busy and ill maintained streets of Magnimar!

***OVERSEER POST***

A fanfare of trumpets blasts loudly, breaking through the roar of the combat and ringing of clashing blades. Leading a mounted battalion of armored warriors, Sheila Heidmarch and her husband charge through the streets, driving through the waves of summoned fiends and forcing them to retreat back through their gates to the netherworlds from which they were called. In a matter of minutes, their assault is complete and the streets fall quiet.

Sheila Heidmarch strides over to Prisim”You have the REAL Runecarved Key then holds it aloft signifying a Pathfinder victory!

“Today, every one of you has contributed to a triumphant victory for our Society, and you have cemented our place in Magnimar. “I’m deeply honored that you have granted me your services. While my lodge is small, you have made it feel like a kingdom. Yet our victory today is somewhat bittersweet. It seems dark forces have surfaced in Varisia—forces which, before today, I was unaware of. I’m sorry to have thrown you headlong into the middle of such chaos. I have already sent word to the Decemvirate of today’s events and await their response. When I know more, I shall contact you, for I fear this key has somehow placed all of us in danger. Still, we should go forth, for now is the time to celebrate!”

Thank you all so much for participating!

I would also like to express my gratitude to the fantastic set of GM’s and support crew I had working with me to make this a success, it really was a pleasure running this and that is certainly due to their fantastic efforts. Thanks also to the Online Venture Crew who always show enthusiasm and help pave the way for our events, and to Tonya for the Boons and Gift Certs.

And lastly – thanks to all the players out there (you!) who came in to this with a great attitude and really played in the spirit of it all, even when the Heidmarch family showed some total moral greyness!
