At this moment, the War Drummer manages to dodge the spiritual weapon, and realises he has underestimated the pathfinder and is in way above his head. He retreats himself as far away as possible.

End combat! Good job!

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★

As the last orcs perish or flee, the Twinhorns reassemble the caravan and gather the fallen. Night begins to fall, swallowing up the road and leaving the caravan stranded in a pool of torchlight. Medda stands atop the new lead wagon, blood dripping from her breastplate. She holds Ivvora’s hilt aloft and shouts, “Twinhorns! We are only two days from the stone circle and have two days until the winter solstice.” A nimbus of light begins to radiate from the hilt, illuminating the entire valley in bright light. “Abandon the wagons and carry with you what you need to survive. We must reach the circle in time, or darkness will consume us.”

Bodies litter the valley, but fortunately most of them belong to orcs. Even so, the Twinhorns have lost many of their warriors and may not be at their full fighting strength for whatever lies ahead.

@Table GMs: The Bloodied Convoy condition on page 31 is in effect. This concludes Part 1.

Sovereign Court

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★

“My Pathfinder allies, thank you for bringing us much needed support,” says Medda, the Twinhorn following’s spiritual leader. She stands beside Anok, her phantom and constant companion. “After the orc ambush sapped our supplies and strength, we pushed north to our winter home. We are only hours away from the stone circle and our encampment—if we are going to make it there by midnight, we need to press on. Once there, we will use Ivvora’s hilt to perform our time-honored ritual and keep evil from our lands.” Medda produces the small hilt of a broken weapon with only a fragment of its black metal blade remaining. “Let us move. There are dangers in these ancient woods: orc raiders, bears that topple trees, and worse. Stay in groups and don’t get lost.”

As the Kellids and Pathfinders reach the top of the hill next to the Twinhorn encampment, they notice splashes of blood and the occasional corpse dotting the landscape. Medda raises her voice, calling, “My brethren, our families are under attack! Secure the camp and drive back any who oppose you. Pathfinder allies, join us in defense of our home!” The landscape opens into a burned hillside where blackened trees stand like lifeless sentinels. A crude blockade shields the entrance to a natural cavern.

Quickly you rush towards the cavern to provide aid, but in doing so attract the attention of those who were attempting to break through the blockade. A couple of humanoid heads turn, but to your shock and horror, they look dead. An undead army of men! They are also accompanied by one monstrous looking being. Thick muscle and jutting bone from multiple corpses fused together form a winged, humanlike predator is one way to describe this monstrosity. The creatures charge straight towards you without hesitation

Then she follows after her smaller companions to prepare a battle line against the undead charge. Kitajo, you mentioned you were charging but did not move your character, might have caused a bit of confusion as Torrel and Liliana's strategy depends on the zombies coming to the group. So am going to ready action your attack instead in line with the roleplay that's happening. This will be fun!

Hangust fires a arrow towards the creatures. Some sort of a warning shot probably as the arrow flies above the undeads. The undead does not comprehend the danger they are about to face and charge right into towards the pathfinder.

The zombie with red blood drooling from it's mouth runs straight in Kitajo's direction. Kitajo has been anticipating the attack and slash right into it, Seren within the immediate vicinity lends a hand and finishes off the zombie before it was even able to lay a hand on Kitajo.
One down.

The zombie with the blue pants follows suit, but charging right towards Varuna. Varuna had also prepared himself, but did not anticipate the speed in which the zombie can run as he slams his whole body against him.

Green shirt zombie does the same, but with Hangust as his immediate target. After witnessing the attack on Varuna, Hangust knows what he should do, and dodges as the zombie runs in his path.

Blue vs Varuna Slam: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 241d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Green vs Hangust Slam: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 101d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

The purple hat zombie moves forward aimlessly as it does not have a clear target in sight.

3 are in range and activates the ready action!

Torrel gives the lead and Liliana follows as they unleash their divine powers simultaneous. The positive energy to vanquish the dead as Liliana would say. The zombies howl in excruciating pain as all of them disintegrate into dust. The horde of undead is almost gone, but the heroics of Torrel and Liliana lead the path right open for the monstrous zombie to fly right into the pathfinders.

The group is able to take a momentary breather, and soon are greeted by relieved Khellids. A group of Kellid warriors come cautiously out from behind the barricades they were manning. “You were magnificent! We have never seen the like of warriors like you!”

One of the warrior recognizes Medda and steps out,"Medda? Medda is that you? You must bring the heroes to meet with the elders. There is much debate going on. We are concerned. We don't know what is happening." The warrior speaks in a gravely concerned manner as he seeks out Medda. Medda agrees and asks of you to accompany her as she seeks out the elders. You start to walk towards the settlement.

Another warrior, equally concerned, mentions in the background as you travel, about more undead creatures about to embark an attack. This seems to be taking place on the other side of the settlement. Some are of the opinion the troops could use some help, especially of those with powers they've just witness here. Medda, in earshot, seems more concerned with meeting the elders and pays no attention to the background discussion.

You have a choice of meeting the elders or deciding to move to help the settlement fend of the undead. We'll go based on majority vote as usual. If there's no clear vote in 12 hours, I'll likely move us based on majority vote.

The group unanimously decides that the greater good would be to vanquish the undead before more lives are lost prior to seeking the elders. Medda knows that this is for the best and does not intervene. The group are lead by the few warriors quickly to the other side of the settlement to face unknown dangers.

A stream of glowing mist winds its way through the trees as the air takes on a sudden chill. As you approach the misty areas. , you observe a few incorporeal creatures making a ruckus. A slimy, shifting mass has the shape of a humanoid, but is made out of what appears to be some form of sticky rope or cloth. Its body lurches jerkily, struggling to maintain its horrid form. It runs around chasing the Khellids.

At first, it appears to be an ordinary suit of armor, this imposing being begins to move, its lumbering movements slow and methodical. It throws objects around the place, destroying everything it can.

ECTOPLASMIC HUMANS, Drawn from energies of the Ethereal Plane, ectoplasm is a vile substance resembling thick tangles of slimy linen or dripping goo. It shapes itself into the form of an undead creature, creating a host for a soul unfortunate enough to be confined within it. The existence of an ectoplasmic being is a cruel one, and few souls willingly choose this painful form of undeath.

Seren seems more distracted than normal while the group is deciding how best to proceed. The fervent mumbling to herself helps seal the idea that it might be best if she isn't taken to a significant elder meeting at the moment. While they are lead to the new threat she stops several times to flail wildly at the air with her sword and shout something menacing in a rather vulgar tongue before darting off to catch up.

When they reach their actual battleground Lilianna's words have an unintended side effect, stirring the will of a different one of Seren's spirits. Instead of her whirling movements she drops into a stomping, wide legged dance. Her normal weapons are sheathed and she beats time on a small shield with a dwarf sized mace.

"YA HEARD THE LASS! THE DAWNFLOWER BE CALLIN' ME BACK, AND WE'RE GONNA KICK THEM DEAD RIGHT IN THEIR ROTTEN ARSES! FOR GLORY!" Seren's pale face glances back at the clerics with a rough grin. "We'll shield you lot, you make with the glory and light for my lady of the sun. Nothin'll touch ya, or my name ain't Doran Gloryshield!"

The spirit stomps Seren's body forward to prepare to take a few hits for the tactic.

The Pathfinders move on the offensive as soon as they see Seren's take the hit. A few folk come into melee with the undead. Kitajo and Varuna hit accurately, weakening the undead but not enough to take them down. Hangust misjudges how fortified the armor actually is and only scratches the surface without doing any damage to it.

Torrel and Liliana hand in hand release a magnified powerful burst of positive energy that sweeps over everyone, making them feel empowered, but at the same time disintegrating all of the undead into black ash.

Combat done for! Had also push us a bit quickly here as I wanted to be able to give the team more roleplaying time in the next encounter.

Onlookers cheer on, and praise the pathfinders in what looks to be perfect strategic teamwork! They are impressed, and speak wonders of your abilities. Medda the same, and she thanks you for your work, but she presses the group to meet the elders immediately at a nearby tent.

You arrive at a large tent its thick hide walls muffle the sounds from outside. Medda enters a few minutes before you to try to gauge the situation. Soon after you grow tired of waiting and you enter; iron spikes pin down an enormous map in the center of the tent. Wooden carvings of warriors and monsters lie strewn about the map, marking the location of fighting warriors and the encroaching undead.

As you enter, you hear Medda’s voice. “You’re asking us to leave behind everything we know and care about!”

“Indeed,” rumbles Anok the phantom’s deep and booming voice, “You would have us abandon our sacred pledge to Ivvora.”

“Aye, I’d have us abandon this lunacy!” Another man proclaims as you enter. He is a towering man, broad-shouldered and sturdily built, wearing the cloak of dire polar bear. Covered in scars and with a proud bearing, his presence fills this tent as he paces back and forth. “Surely we can find better winter hunting grounds, where we don’t have to compete for game with bloodthirsty orcs and cursed undead! As for leaving behind what we care about... What I care about is my warriors, many of whom we’ve left behind on this battlefield!”

“Who are we as a people if we abandon our oaths? I demand,” declares Medda, “that we stay and fight for our homes and our traditions!”

In addition to Medda, Anok the phantom, and the towering man, there is a fourth person in this room. An old woman with plenty of scars of her own, is calmly listening to the arguments while she fletches arrows. She has to bring the arrows close to her face as she fletches, but her ears are turned towards the conversation. With tanned and wrinkled skin, white hair cut short, and a weathered longbow by her side, there is an intense focus about the old woman, and the other three leaders keep darting glances her way, as if waiting for her to weigh in.

Then the old woman looks up with clouded eyes at the tent flap opening where you are gathered. Squinting at the sun in her face, she asks with a quavering voice, “Are you the warriors that Medda told us about? If so, I am pleased to meet you, and hear your wisdom. I am Jala the Patient. This bear in human form is Kragr Bloodhand. You already know Medda and Anok.” She pauses, grabbing a drink from a leather water skin and licking her lips. “Speak. We are at a decision point.”

Now you have an opportunity to influence the three Leaders of the Following (Medda, Kraugr, Jala) to stay and help the fight. Even Medda needs convincing, for the arguments of others have started to wear upon her.

THE RULES
Each of you have 3 rounds/attempts where you can each try to influence one of the members, or discover information about them that might be helpful you figure out how to influence them best. Each round you may make a single skill check to 1) discover, 2) influence or 3) aid another to someone else’s roll, if you wish to use a spell or what not, I will consider it as a round of attempt (including guidance)

You may always take ten if you feel confident. Creative and great roleplaying is always encouraged and rewarded! If you're not sure, ask away.

Each of the Leaders: Medda, Kraugr and Jala need number of successful checks to be convinced to stay. The number of checks needed for each one of the leaders varies.

Decide amongst yourselves how you want to spend your attempts. I'm leaving this very open for roleplaying opportunities.
