Jostrum Finderwell |
I did forget it, but technically, I took the extra attack last round and I assume since LC is an immediate action, it happens before Jostrum could change the blessing. If the GM deems it ok, add +2 to that roll.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
I was going to mention that Auke :) Good for Julian at the very least! And yes, Jostrum made the extra attack so he can't switch quite yet...
Jostrum tries as he might, but even with the bardess's boon, the behir's grasp on him is too great!
If Elindriel does pull off the crit, though... think you won't have to worry Jostrum :P
Elindriel Firesong |
Ah, sorry, didn't see the crit there. Also, Elindriel took the +2 to attack/AC, and she didn't count that either...
Critical Confirm (Falcata +1 (2H), Blessing of Fervor, Power Attack): 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 2 - 2 = 20
Critical Damage (Falcata +1 (2H), Power Attack): 2d8 + 14 + 12 ⇒ (6, 2) + 14 + 12 = 34
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
And that +2 did make a difference :P
Elindriel tries to aid her fellow half-elf after getting into position and cuts into the distracted behir, right behind the end of the spinal cord causing horrific damage to the creature!
Behir has now taking 79 points of damage!
Jostrum Finderwell |
Actually, it's better to stay in the grapple to just before your turn. Currently you are keeping it from taking attacks of opportunity.
I thought the same thing, but my thinking was that since LC is an immediate action, the check was an immediate action as well. Actually, after looking at the spell, I think that is the case. Well, Jostrum will just be a behir squeaky toy.
Julian Bastille |
My turn Maul says as he steps forward.
1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 2 = 291d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 2 = 311d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 2 = 251d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 = 191d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Ki Amon |
With little else to do Ki changes the creature (if its still up after Maul has his way with it.) Ki draws his sword and both he and the pig attack. Before charging he calls out to the creature Have at you. I shall slay you in every time stream I find you. Fight me if you dare. challenging the creature. His attack is also a power attack.
Spirited Charge with sword: 1d20 + 12 + 4 - 2 + 222 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 4 - 2 + 222 = 2422d6 + 14 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 14 + 6 = 25
The pig also get in his gore.
Tusk: 1d20 + 8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 4 + 2 = 261d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Note both attacks have been increased by +2 for flanking. I believe this is a flank but am not 100%
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
@Ki: I know Ki is pretty good with his accuracy, but I'm fairly sure you didn't roll a 242 to hit :P
Ki and Sty move forward, savagely rending the magical beast with blade and tusk. In it's weakened state, Maul then bites into the creature, bringing it and Jostrum down with a thud before then splitting the creature in half with his powerful claws.
A mild headache ensues again before the party sees the behir body gone and Rozimus standing in the slain reptile's location. With a concerned look, the errant Pathfinder looks at the blood-covered Maul and injured Jostrum, mouth agape. "What happened to you guys?"
Ki Amon |
Was it the +222 to hit that gave it away? Not sure what happened there. I was typing on my phone and trying to get the right plus signs in the right places. Sorry. Oh, and one of my challenges used. Seemed like a good idea. I am now envisioning a mod where the group fights the same creature over and over again in a stuck time loop, but each time the party has fewer resources and hit points…
The blue lizard thing attacked us. We dispatched it. Where were you? Ki's voice holds a hint of suspicion.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Rozimus raises an eyebrow at Ki's suspicion. "Hey now, you guys just stood still for a bit, so I looked on ahead. Then I turn around and the big guy Maul is covered in blood and that guy's nearly dead!"
Then looking around one more time, he asks. "And what blue lizard thing? I don't see no body and we killed it already, unless there's a second one!"
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
"You're tellin' me!", the exasperated man raising his hands up into the air. "Anyway, here's them faces. You just gotta stick your hand in and get stamped so ya can open them doors up there."
Ki Amon |
And my head hurts. It started when you first vanished. The hurt again when you came back to us. Anyone else? I think that is somehow related to the time twisting going on. Ki speculates somewhat wildly.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
"YOUR head hurts? I've been convinced by people who have supposedly met me that they're here to help explore the dungeon that murdered my comrades. If I wasn't sure that someone slipped me a mickey before comin' in here...", Rozimus mumbling the rest of his line to himself.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
"Statues?", replies the rogue with a confused look on his face. "We didn't fight any statues, but the room that took Aelee and Garuke was past the blue door."
Jostrum Finderwell |
Jostrum picks himself off the ground gingerly, dusting himself off. "Thanks Miss Dominique. I'm glad I was able to "preoccupy" that thing for you."
@Dominique: Jostrum has his own CLW wand. I can take the charges off of that.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Miss Dominique, still the brave one, moves over to the red-faced demon mouth. The hand orientation is designed to be usable for either left or right hands. Seeking to perform a viable experimentation for the class, she places her hand inside the contraption...
The stone mouth immediately closes onto the schoolmarm's appendage and doesn't let go and the painful touch of a seal is pressed against the top of her hand! After six seconds pass, the mouth opens again, and a red sigil made up of a triangle with three eye-shaped marks in each corner, is branded upon Miss Dominique's hand.
"Yeah, Aelee complained 'bout it, but Garuke thought he was tough shit and got both of his hands done.", quips Rozimus.
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
"At least one of each color; that person can open the door for the others."
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
"No no no... I mean, as long as one person gots th' stamp, then that'll cover it for yas. Me, the others said it was painful and didn't want to injure my hands, so the others covered that duty."
He does nod at Miss Dominique's second statement, though. "Yeah, never did get ta see what else was down there past a coupla hallways, but you should be able ta open it."
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
When the party follows Miss Dominique up the stairs, the door to the statue chamber closes.
The Desnan places her hand upon the door, which glows briefly before opening.
This room bears the same unnerving feeling pointed out before, still under whatever aura is against the eastern wall. A single door to the south blocks the next passage, but a trio of the same azlanti-styled statues against the wall immediately move out from their stations and move to engage the party!
"Whaaa?! So those're th' statues you talkin' bout!", shouts Rozimus.

Elindriel steps forward, imbues her blade with arcane power, and brings it to bear once more against the stone inhabitants of this level.
Move action: As indicated on map
Swift action: Imbue falcata (arcane strike)
Standard action: Attack statue
Attack (Falcata +1 (2H), Power Attack): 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 2 = 27
Damage (Falcata +1 (2H), Power Attack, Arcane Strike): 1d8 + 7 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 6 + 2 = 18

Critical Damage (Falcata +1 (2H), Power Attack, Arcane Strike): 2d8 + 14 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (5, 3) + 14 + 12 + 4 = 38
Miss Dominique |
That Falcata is doing you right Elindriel. Ki is going to ready to attack the next one that comes up with a lance charge. as I assume that one is down.
"If these are the same statues as before, make sure you don't break your weapon!"
Miss Dominique takes a 5 foot step back and uses a wandcharge to heal
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM BPChocobo TK2 |
Reverberation damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3) = 10
Oh yeah... broken condition on weapon, so -2 on damage and attack rolls! Albeit... double critting the thing isn't making much of a difference there.
Despite the crack formed into the metal, Elindriel finds the same weak point as before and cuts the statue in half, much to Rozimus' surprise.
"Holy motha of sand dragons!", the rogue shouts in awe of the half-elf's blade. "You are one tough dame!"
Rozimus, for his part, moves up and attacks the next closest statue.
Rozimus dagger @ C2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage on hit: 1d4 + 2 + 3d6 - 5 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (5, 3, 4) - 5 = 13
Reververation damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) = 5
Before the statue has a chance to act, the rogue moves in, quickly finds the same joint Elindriel abused, and stabs it, causing a large crack to appear down the center of the statue.
"Huh, you made it look so easy.", is all he can answer.
