So I have to admit to having played through this somewhat recently in a home game. And while I try to keep the two games separate as best I can, and really try not to use player knowledge every I have to admit that my addled brain seems to have mixed up some of what I know between the two games. I am sorry for that and will really try to keep that to a minimum.
On the positive side the home game is changing up a lot of things and, as home games move much faster there is now considerable separation of events.
I thought I had recalled we spoke to Level 21. I guess it had to be in the other game. I am embarrassed.

We met with them once just haven't been back yet, on a separate note.
Will be leaving on a family vacation next week. Will not have access during the cruise to update, so from this Sunday until next Sunday I will have no access to internet, please bot as needed to progress.

Apologies on the split screen scenes gang - was my first thought to allow the specific groups to infill each other on what's happening.
Can easily drop it as a storytelling device so allow complete player clarity (more than trust you lot not to meta-game)?
Hope everyone is enjoying the game - am going to try and kick up the pace a little, but we're deviating quite a bit from the AP at present but I'm enjoying running things.
Ed Shirren |
yep, enjoying. I'd like to know what other folks think, but I'm for limited use of spoilers. I think it was fine in the Club to prevent out of character knowledge spurring intervention in the next room, but when we're in totally different sectors where we really can't interfere, I'm for just straight posting.
is Bendriss being referred to as a fixer?
Noah 2.0 |
I too would prefer not to use spoilers much and not split the party much. But it certainly made sense this time.
I appreciate all the detail you are adding with the messages and the like Galactic Master Black Dow. I know you are putting in a lot of work. Everyone is RPing well too and I feel a little slow with the character as I both learn the rules better and grow his personality.
I would be in favor of moving a little faster, but do not want that to cost anyone their enjoyment of the game. I am here for the long haul.
Galactic Master Black Dow |
Cool - thanks for the input folks... I'll dispense with the split screen spoilers going forward unless we come across a similar situation like the Fusion Queen.
Once we're past this first chapter of the AP (which has been extended somewhat) then you'll be operating pretty exclusively as a singular group. Will try and up the ante a little - juggling a few things so am hoping to get back on track over the next few days.
Cheers for the input - from my pov everyone's doing a standup job and defining new races and classes well. Appreciate the effort :)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Bedriss was the fixer Ed, if I remember correctly.
ditto the other comments GM, non spoilers are good for me as well when groups are spread out.
and the amount of background work you're doing making up the bulletins and such, kudos
Paeon Tel'domah |
Yeah love all the detail and the urls with pictures etc. Really enjoying all aspects so far.
I do need to dive back into the handbooks and may rework Paeon a bit with our level up once i do some more reading.

Source CRB page 233
Universal Polymer Base or UPB is the basis for most technology in the Pact Worlds, the Veskarium, and many other systems. Each UPB is a tiny multifunction component, not much larger than a grain of rice, capable of being configured to act as a brace, capacitor, circuit, diode, fastener, insulator, lens, modulator, pipe, resistor, and dozens of other constituent parts. UPBs can even be spun out into fabric, broken down into component chemicals, reconstituted into new chemicals, or supplemented with base materials (such as dirt or sand) to form massive braces or walls. The right combination of hundreds or even thousands of UPBs can create everything from a comm unit to a laser weapon to powered armor. In their raw form, UPBs have a bulk of 1 per 1,000 UPBs, though when aligned and configured they can easily take up less bulk, and when configured for a specific purpose that calls for a minimum size and bracing (possibly combining them with inert materials), they can have a higher bulk.
They can be used in repairing equipment that is broken (but not destroyed) - Engineering/Mysticism DC is dependent on the complexity of the item. If it is broken but not destroyed, you must spend 10 UPBs per item level each time you attempt to repair it. UPBs can also be utilised to repair damage sustained by ships.
UPBs are so ubiquitous that they are usable as currency in many major settlements and trade hubs. While credsticks are a more convenient and secure way to carry value, UPBs have the advantage of direct utility and untraceability. They are a popular way to pay smugglers and criminals, but they are also useful for trade missions to systems with UPB technology that don’t use credits as currency. The value of the Pact World's credit is based on the economic utility of a single UPB.
Price of 1 UPB = 1 credit.
Ed Shirren |
I suggest we keep the UPBs then. They sound really handy.
Noah can play caddy for party gear if he's holding the bag ; )

Is Shadowine considered drugs or trade goods?
Galactic Master Black Dow |
Trade goods Ed - merely dark elf produced wine. Starfinder's would likely serve it at functions for dignitaries etc.
Consider it sold unless any of you lot want to hang onto a bottle or two?
For the record we'll presume that the drugs are off station and arriving at King Curney's with the Dealing Duo.
Ed Shirren |
So throwing drow shadowine in goods is final total = 2,717.4
do we want to weight this somehow for folks that got less gear or divide equally? I got the big ticket item so far with the pistol (that really doesn't sound more expensive than an artillery laser, but tech?)

I'd advise just a straight split - I'm not a GM who'll typically short change players, so if something is majorly lacking in say gear or items I'll try and fill that void for the PC(s) in question.
If we find that characters are getting the lions share and plenty o' cred I'll adjust future loot accordingly or we can revisit.

Hi Guys,
Recent events have had me re-evaluating my commitment to the games I'm currently involved with here on these boards.
As you've probably noticed I've had a few noticable absenses this summer, again due to the fact I've become quite
a bit more busy, usually leading to a rushed decision late at night...do I logon and get some posts in?
Ultimately, it began to feel more like a job than a hobby...<< I have to get a post in...don't want to hold the game up >>
It slowly dawned on me that I just wasn't looking forward to posting, even though I enjoy each of the games I'm in immensely.
When something you enjoy becomes something you don't, it's time to re-evaluate.
Though it's a hard decision, I've decided to take a hiatus from the boards.
Apologies to players and GMs leaving you in the lurch, so to say.
Extra thanks to GMs for allowing me in to your games.
Happy gaming and take care, Al.
Galactic Master Black Dow |
@Al/Spaz: Know its never an easy decision and appreciate your honestly and your input into the games we've shared. We've collaborated in some great story telling in the past and hope to do so again mate - as such you'll always have a place at my virtual table.
Take care and see you down the line.
BD/Gary

Glad to see the boards are up (again) - am not convinced it'll stay this way, a month of creaking stability has not left a good mark upon me.
I'm mulling moving this game to another venue - Myth Weavers, Obsidian Portal or Roll D20 being those off the cuff that have merit.
Not a given, but I'm exploring possibilities if (when) the boards melt down again.
Would anyone be hugely opposed to this - bottom line I'm running the game for you stellar lot, so not about to move house without my lodgers :)
Kris-7 |
If the system continues to crash I'm up for a venue change as it's hard to keep things going in a campaign taking a week or 4 days off at a time.
Galactic Master Black Dow |
Okay so general consensus is we stay put... for the time being.
I appreciate the input and ideally would also stay put, know from the official feedback in some of the website threads, suggestion is we might experience some issues for a short time as everything gets ironed out.
Am accepting of that, but if we have frequent drop offs like the last 14 days (and spotty connecting since early August) then I'll definitely revisit.
Right... let's get this show on the road :)
