Targost |
Unable to use magic on the elf, Targost slowly moves once again to get the enemy in line with his bow.
Not sure if this would do anything, but if I cast prestidigitation on myself would it clear off the swarm that is infesting me?
GM Auke |
If you move out of the swarm, the swarm will have to go to you again to damage you (but your spellcraft tells you that if the caster doesn't concentrate on the spell, the swarm will disappear after 2 rounds). 5 foot step and shoot is possible. (remaining in the swarm will allow point blank shot though!)
EDIT: (as it is clearly the smartest thing, Targost stays in the soon to be gone swarm and shoots at the crazy elf)
Ghosting Targost

Talwin Bernhold |
Talwin labors upward, grunting with effort, slowed by the spell.
Again, I think it's Targost that is poisoned not me.

Targost |
Arrgh the spiders are making me weak!!! Will not be able to do much soon!!! I believe I am down 3 str ?
Finally having the distraction of the spiders fade, Targost struggles to pull the bow to its full length, but still fires at the elf.

Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Currently 3 strength damage (but only even counts, so -1 on all strength related rolls).
Bow(to hit) = 1d20 + 3 (base) + 3 (dex) + 1 (point blank) +1 (magic) -2 (penalty for using wrong strength bow) -1 (slow) = d20 + 5[ooc]Bow(damage) = 1d8 + 1 (strength), +1 (magic), +1 (point blank) = d8+3
Targost shoots an arrow and hits the elf!
GM Auke |

Talwin slowly closes in on the enemy.
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Was going for the DC 5 check. But I failed by 5 or more...

Muluk vs. Abysiel: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage (scimitar): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Talwin Bernhold |
Talwin stands, spear in hand, then moves over to Ebon, grinning at the idea of attacking from below. He calls down Abadar's judgement, seeking justice against the wicked.
Unless falling made me drop my spear, in which case it's 2 move actions to retreive then stand.

Any chance I could position myself to flank with Muluk? Kind of odd, but if we're opposite each other, that seems like it still might work.

Targost |
Targost slowly walks towards the others, speeding up as the spell finally lapses and he can move normally again. Still weak from the poison, he congratulates his comrades in successfully defeating the mad elf.
Talwin Bernhold |
Talwin sighs wearily, then joins in congratulating his allies.
After this, Talwin is still feeling mostly healthy so he begins to explore the perimeter of the room.

This chamber contains many ancient tools and earlier experiments in manipulating time. Among the salvageable items are an alchemist’s lab, masterwork artisan’s tools, a wand of magic missile, and a wand of daze. there is also a set of goggles of minute seeing and a potion of haste. Scattered throughout the room are a variety of coins brought here by the morlocks as offerings 5,500 gp. The greatest treasure, however, is Izryen’s Hourglass, which can easily be removed from the grand device with 30 minutes worth of work. There is also a diary from which you can deduce the maze's backstory.
In time, the whispers came to Abysiel. So quiet it strained his mind to listen, these whispers spoke of impossibly complex diagrams and an elven artifact, Izryen’s Hourglass, which could hold back the tide of years. Desperate to save the humans for whom he had grown so fond, Abysiel acquired the hourglass from a Chelish antiquities dealer. He then secretly constructed the diagrams on a massive scale as an intricate series of rooms and halls deep beneath the city of Absalom. His project eventually became a maze of impossible angles and curves that twisted the mind. Abysiel’s Tangle tugged at the boundaries of reality and slowly drove him mad. On its completion, Abysiel’s whispering patron betrayed the obsessed sorcerer. A force from the void reached through the Tangle into reality, binding the elf in chains to complete the diagram and summon itself to Golarion through the elf. But Abysiel’s broken heart provided too weak a spark, and the ritual fizzled. Abysiel’s whispering patron fled from the elf ’s dangling body, and so Abysiel hung like a broken marionette in the heart of his failed endeavor for 15 centuries, magically protected from the ravages of thirst, hunger, and time.
Talwin Bernhold |
Leaving the loot for now, Talwin walks over to the minotaur. He holds his empty hands out to show he means no harm, then casts a healing spell on the creature.
CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
If the minotaur becomes conscious:
"Nuar, I presume? I am Talwin, an agent of the Pathfinder Society. We were sent to return you to safety."

GM Auke |
Nuar regains consciousness, but he's still chained up.
"Yes, indeed, I am Nuar Spiritskin, also known amongst Absolom's inhabitants as the Minotaur Prince. My mind seems to play tricks on me, as I have no recollection of how I came to be here." He seems to sniff the air.
"Hmmm, we're currently in the center of a marvelous maze under Absalom itself. How interesting!"
"I went to sleep in my home and awoke in a cave where I was nearly beaten to death by a horde of vile beings."
Talwin Bernhold |
While Targost worls on the hourglass Talwin uses his adamantine spear to pry apart the chains binding Nuar Spiritskin.
"Well then, Nuar Spiritskin, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. It seems like you have a natural affinity for mazes. Would you care to do the honors of leading us out?"
Before going Talwin will help recover coin and other valuables.

GM Auke |
You grab all the loot and follow the minotaur. He quickly and easily leads you out of the labyrinth and back to the Ivy distict.
He thanks you for saving him and tell you he will make sure that everyone in Absalom will know of your good deeds.
+1 to all charisma based checks in Absolom.
