Gabriela listens quietly, nodding as Simeon reminisces. "Overall, I think we've got a few options. First, we definitely need to know who's in the house at what times. Could be we can burn the place down, make it look like a message from the Badger Lord, and have Anders' death just be included in the fire. If he's here. Otherwise, if we wait til Sunday, he'll be watching that play from his private box, so we could murder him there, and then come back here to burn his house down."

She pauses thoughtfully, watching the grounds.

"We've got a few days yet. I bet that fancy-looking servant closing everything up knows exactly who's coming and going at all times. We can probably press him for the information, but then he'll need to be dealt with as well, so it's probably best we don't raise the alarm early by snatching him up before we're ready to move." Gabriela shakes her head, clearly tired from the day's events. "S%~~, we could go in there now, find the traitorous Chelaxian Lord, burn the place down and have done with it!"

Frustrated and unsure, she turns and begins heading back into town. "We've got time, let's bed down and see tomorrow what we can find out about Anders, his manor, and this play."

I really don't know what we should do. I like the idea of interrogating the head manservant to get our insider info, but clearly we can't let him report our questioning, and I'm sure his absence would be noted, so that's something we need to handle carefully/deal with just before we move. But I don't know how we should proceed without that info.

"You know, we could break in tonight and pretend to be simple, honest thieves going after a few jewels. Get a look-see, then run away."

Simeon shrugs, ambling along and seemingly not too worried. "Or we could grab this Lord, take him someplace quiet, and ask him the questions that need answering. Then we do him in, and burn the rest of his stuff down at our leisure."

Sighing, Gabriela matches pace with Simeon, agitation slowly fading in the face of the young thug's nonchalance. "Good suggestions, although I think it's best we don't show our hand until everything's actually going down. Even if they wave off a break-in tonight as nothing more than a group of daring thieves, they'll likely tighten security, making the eventual larceny and murder/kidnapping that much harder to pull off. I think we should definitely question Anders, though, before we carry out the Badger Lord's will. If only to get a better sense of who exactly, this man is slighting by turning to Asmodeus, that they not only want him dead, but an example made and a message sent."

"Sounds good. We tonight we rest, then tomorrow we... what, exactly? "

Simeon meets everyone downstairs, ordering a heaping breakfast that he lays into with gusto. Speaking around a mouthful of food, a flagon of cream in the other hand, he leans forward. "All right. I say we spend our morning gainfully employed in capturing ourselves a servant and tickling him till he gives up the goods."

He chews and swallows. "Then depending on what we learn, we make a move on the house. Sound good? If so, one of us can watch the house, and mark when the servant leaves it. The others watch our point man from a distance, and follow a block behind him. Every block or so, we rotate a team member into point so the servant doesn't notice us. We track them to wherever they go, and then on the way back we grab them at some spot we identify on the route out. Sound good?"

Gabriela pokes at a light breakfast, humming softly as Simeon outlines the kidnapping plot. "Sweet Simeon you rascal! I was just going to say we should grab the guy when he comes out of the manor, but your plan is much better. We'll probably want to wait to move on the house until night, but we'll see how things look once we have a better idea."

Pushing away the tray she'd been picking at, Gabriela stands and runs a hand over her hair, turning her long white curls bright green. Prestidigitation! "Actually," She starts, as a thought occurs to her, "Before we stalk and grab the servant, we should check out the theater where Anders' play is being held. Try to get access to his private box & the area around it, if we can. Best to do all the least conspicuous research first before we make any moves that might put Lord Anders or the authorities on alert."

She shrugs, slowly shifting on her feet in an absentminded little jig. "I guess we don't have a lot of time either, though, so maybe nab the servant today and scope out the theater tonight? All this covert stuff makes me nervous."

Hames comes down last, as usual, arriving just in time to pick up the jist of the party's plans. Offering no insights of his own, he simply nods and smiles, "Just tell me where you want me."

The group agrees; survey the manor today, then that night, examine the theatre. They duly make their way to outside Anders' house.

Describe where you're standing and what you're doing to look non-suspicious. Neighbouring buildings include a small cafe, a glaziers, and four blocks of houses. At least one house-block looks currently unoccupied.

Dieuwer enters the cafe, orders a cup of coffee and sits down on a table near a window. There could hardly be anything less suspicious than a man enjoying his morning coffee in a nice little cafe, could there? Besides, sitting in a cafe is far more comfortable than standing outside or creeping around in abandoned houses.

The glazier looks up at Hames and merrily starts talking. He recounts his recent adventures into using a higher sand ratio than usual, his new cutters allowing him to create edge windows at a much greater size allowing for spectacular conservatories that are making him the darling of many noble houses, his concerns that his apprentice will fail to woe his darling Daisy who works for a miller just outside of town, his hopes for rising to Glazier Third Rank Wizard in the Most Noble Society of Glazietry, and his fears that a recent termite infestation will prove more calamitous than it first indicated.

He shows no indication of ceasing talking any time soon. Say something to allow you to hang out here silently or start rolling Will saves vs Wisdom damage

The group get into positions, and start surveiling the house. For some time, the only figures of interests are arrivals- government bureaucrats and the occasional food delivery, judging by the carriages. In each cases, the front or back door is opened by an armed and armored man wearing a small symbol on his chest.

Hames is quite interested in the glazier trade, smiling and nodding, but the Cleric is on a mission. He uses his skill with language to try and seamlessly turn the tide of the conversation, giving him a chance to speak. "Speaking of noble houses, have you done any work on the house over yonder?" Hames points to Anders house across the way. "I saw a piece that looks remarkably similar to yours. I was wondering if you would accompany me to take a closer look at it, since you might know the man who lives inside. I hear he has quite the taste in art, and I was kind of hoping to meet him. I'm a martial artist, and I have a friend staying with me who's an excellent dancer."

Simeon's hanging down at the end of the street, watching his friends and allowing them to make the call. As far as he's concerned, two hours is early days yet, so he simply chews on some jerky and waits, arms crossed, leaning against a post.

The glazier blinks in mild befuddlement. "I fear I'm just a simple commercial glazier, I leave the artsy-stuff to the younger fellows; of course I feel a proper window is an art-form with itself, working with the sun and proper angles..." he continues talking.

From his position down the street, Simeon spots a small group leaving from the back of the house; one squirrel-looking man with glasses and a thin frame, and three Blackjack mercenaries. In a tight procession, they move off east, deeper into the city.

Stealth to follow them without being seen or Survival to follow them from a distance, K Local for probable destinations, higher K Local to guess at a good ambush spot ahead of them, Perception to look for an ambush site should they return.

Gabriela busies herself by the seemingly abandoned houses, trying to look like she's inspecting the properties for purchase. Unable to make out the mercenary's symbol, and seeing no other unique opportunities, she sits on the ground in front of one of the buildings and pulls out sandwich. She continues to watch the business going on around the manor, while keeping an eye on her companions. So much for tailing that servant today - we should've followed him when we had the chance last night.

Unhelpful Glazier is unhelpful D8

Hames strokes his chin, "In that case, can I buy a window right now? My friend needs one for a particular dance she's doing. If you're commercial you surely have a display piece or two. Oh, and can I get your name and the name of your business? She'll want to know."

Human Rogue 3 | HP: 24/27 | AC: 17 (11 Tch, 16 Fl) | CMD: 16 | F: 3, R: 4, W: 3 | Init: +1 | Perc: +8 | Active conditions: None |

Simeon nonchalantly pushes off his post as he sees the group leave, checks his nails as if for dirt, then gives a little whistle to catch the attention of the others. That done, he winks and starts to saunter down the street after the small group, always conveniently sticking to shadows, ducking under awnings, finding his way behind carts and carriages, and generally keeping himself hidden from the group as best he can.

When the others catch sight of his mug, they see that he's grinning, and clearly enjoying being back in a city.

The glazier gives the details to Hames and starts showing him through a few cuts and displays.

Should have made clearer; you can do the knowledge along with the stealth/survival or the perception, but you can't do the stealth and the perception together. I'll assume, Simeon, you just do the stealth.

With Simeon's incredible stealth, the party almost move sight of him as he folds his way into doorways, behind carts and even almost disappears in plain sight like a Tien ninja. Thinking hard, he guesses they're heading for the Egorian Chamber of Commerce. He is also able to recall a small alley-shortcut half a kilometer ahead; it's an alternative to two busy streets with high roofs, if the bodyguards want to avoid a ranged assassination, they'll probably take the shortcut. And if he runs, he might be able to get there in time.

Having long since finished her lunch, Gabriela comes to a spinning stop at the sound of Simeon's whistle. By the the time he waves for them to follow, her upturned hat is back in place, and her boots are snug on her feet; the few coins dropped by passerby slide smoothly into her pockets as she strides after the savvy sneak, moving from the bustle of the crowd to shadows shadowing Simeon.

Aasimar (Musetouched) Swashbuckler 1/Bard (Dawn Dancer) 2 | HP: 19/25 | Init: +4 | AC:22 | T:15 | FF:17 | CMD:17 | Fort:+3 | Ref:+7 | Will:+2 | Darkvision 60ft | Perception: +5

Dancing between the three attacking blades, Gabriela staggers, nearly sent to one knee as she takes a heavy blow from one of the guards. "Hames!" She calls, hoping the resourceful priest might be able to provide some relieving boon for the group.

Quickly regaining her feet, Gabriela slips away from the enemy formation, using her graceful movements to cover the opening in her defenses as she retreats.

P:Dance (tumble): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23 vs CMD to avoid AoO

At a safe distance, she casts a small healing spell on herself, chest thrumming briefly with healing energy.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

"Now's a good time for some spooky magic!" She calls to Dieuwer.

Move action half-speed run away. Standard action cast CLW.
