He kicked open the door before moving into the hallway.

Spectrum moved in behind Reynard, the dragons on his shoulders now while the warriors took point. He still held his explosive in his hand. With his other, he drew a potion and handed it to Reynard.

Nodding his thanks, Reynard drinks, then heads after Wyam, pausing to glance down the stairs before following the paladin into the room at the end of the hall.

This filthy bedroom contains little more than a lumpy mattress heaped with twigs, mud, and hopefully little else, although the stink of sewage in the room indicates otherwise. Dozens of humanoid fetishes crafted of bits of leather, straw, corn husks, twigs, and bones hang from cords
throughout the room.

Ah, my bad.

This dark room stinks of putrefying flesh. Eight wooden chairs with grinning bleached skulls crowning their backs circle a monstrous four-foot-high oak dining table covered with a crude tablecloth of crinkly human leather. The centerpiece of the dining table-a rotting human head, its stringy red hair thankfully draped over its mutilated face-serves as a gathering place for a host of buzzing, bloated flies.

"Well that works too. Now lets see who's left." Wyam said, as he moved through the now safer room to the closer of the two doors.

This simple room is strewn with "toys," some of carved wood or bone, while others appear to be little more than partial animal carcasses. Old bloodstains mark the walls; some resemble crude, childlike paintings and feature images of dismembered horses, a ridiculous grinning horned devil tossing children off a cliff, and a big lake with a black reptilian monster sprouting tentacles from its back. Bookshelves rest against the wall, but instead of tomes they hold skulls of all shapes and sizes.

Two ogres, nude but for crude hemp wrapped around their waists, busy themselves pushing a large cow skull around on the ground. At the sight of you they turn, and raise their thick ogre fists. One has malformed, stumpy legs and a mouth filled with ragged teeth.

Blasting out with golden, blinding dust and a slumberous hex, the ogrekin prove quite unable to withstand the magical assault, and are quickly overwhelmed.

Well since we've already decided that the Ogre-kin are all evil, no reason to stop here.

Grimacing, Wyam executes the two Ogre-kin children.

He glances around the room, noting the paintings on the wall.

"It's perhaps better we killed them here. But I have to wonder, where did that other person who got away go? And where are the remaining Rangers? I saw some stairs leading downward. We should hurry and check down there."

With that Wyam turned from the room heading back the way they came.


I can't much argue with that, I admit.

Finding a staircase, Marshal leads the descent into a musty basement.

Spectrum followed close behind Wyam, letting Isme and Reynard scout ahead.


This dark, recessed corner of the basement smells of rot and old blood. Piles of gore-spattered skin lie heaped on the floor. A horrid rubbery face robbed of its supporting skull and muscle rests on top, its toothless mouth agape and empty eyes revealing only the layer of tan flayed skin resting underneath.

Spectrum went paler than usual, fighting back the wave of nausea that swept him as he saw the gruesome piles. Spectrum was a fairly stoic person, but it was clear that this was getting to him.

Nose wrinkling in disgust, Reynard holds back his last meal. Just. He then backs out, and heads for the door at the end of the hall, carefully checking for traps, though he's beginning to doubt these creatures are much for such subtleties.

This low-ceilinged room features a floor of hardpacked earth stained in many places by blood and mold. A lumpy mattress lies heaped against the west wall, and what appear to be several half-finished chairs made of flesh and bone lie against the eastern wall.

A brawny ogrekin with hair lopsided on the right side of his face and a tiny from with the proprotions of a baby strapped to his shoulder, grunting and gasp, the creature is turned away from you at first. "Crowfood, told you, trip trap, no fix until-" he turns, and reddened eyes widen. Two rats the size of dogs, hairless and hissing, face you similarly.

"AHHHH!" Reynard screams as the attack cuts deeply into his side. Responding quickly, he slashes at the ogrekin with each of his two blades, then, summoning rage within him and a spear of electricity, he steps back and launches a blast of lightning at the creature.

Reynard, I think you have your attack bonuses wrong; one of those hits should be at full BAB, another at BAB-5.
Also, lightning bolt does not require an attack roll to hit.
I'm assuming the reflex DC is 20 until you say otherwise.

Gritting his teeth, the ogrekin is rocked by lightning.

I'm taking the bonuses straight off the HeroLab sheet. I've got it open right now looking at it. Wait, are you thinking he's taking iteratives? My BAB is only +5. I'm TWFing, one gladius in each hand. One of the good things about Psychic casting is that I don't need a hand free because psychic spells don't have somatic components.

Attack bonus calculated as follows: +5(BAB)+5(DEX bonus from Weapon Finesse)+1(Weapon Focus)+1(Enhancement)-2(Piranha Strike)-2(TWF)-2(Spell Combat)=6

BTW, I'm hoping it's less than 7 minutes since we ran up on the two Ogrekin children upstairs, so that my Shield is still up. If so, my AC is 26 and the rat misses.

What is the bonus on Coordinated Defenses?

As soon as Reynard cleared a little distance, Spectrum shook the bomb he'd been carrying to catalyze the mixture and tossed it right into the ogrekin's chest. The blast was much more contained than the one he'd used int he engagement with Ironbriar's cult. The noxious cloud it left behind was smaller than the ogre.

Swift action Alchemical Weapon adds a Tangleburn Bag to Spectrum's normal bomb.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Stink Bomb Fire Damage, Targeted Admixture: 4d6 + 16 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 2) + 16 = 27 No save, no splash damage
Tangleburn fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Target is Entangled. DC 15 Reflex save or be stuck to the ground (as Tanglefoot bag). DC 20 Reflex save or catch fire (1d6 additional fire damage per round until extinguished).

The Ogrekin's square (and only that square) is filled with noxious gas that lasts for 7 rounds. Any creature that moves through that square (including the ogrekin currently in it) makes a DC 22 Fort save or be Nauseated.

I did stack the -2s. As to its possibility, note the bolded line (from the PRD):

Turning, the ogrekin lumbers its way to the far side of the room, and with a hefty blow, tries to smash a hole in the wall. "MUCK! MUCK! Help me!"

Raynard backed up to fire his lightning bolt. Pretty sure that means nothing is in melee with it, which is why I took the opportunity to throw the bomb. Did I have that incorrect?
