"To Goblins, no." Spectrum said with a disdainful glance at the cooling corpses around him.

When the gristly business was done, he nodded to the two little dragons. They scouted forward again.

"This is going well." he mused.

Spectrum nodded and moved toward the main entrance.


The doors of the fort push open with a hideously distracting creak. The floor of this room is hard-packed soil, as if the builders either ran out of lumber after building the walls and roof, or as if they simply never thought about building a floor. A number of poorly preserved horse and dog heads are mounted along the eastern wall, while along the southern wall hangs a pair of large batlike wings tacked to the wall with daggers.

Isme flies in and begins a birdsong that seems to urge caution.

Spectrum turns up his lip at the gristly trophies. He moved to the wall opposite the horse heads and quietly moved deeper into the room.

We should all communicate telepathically so as not to alert the other denizens. Array, Glimmer, please relay for us.

Looking at the map, I think I'd prefer to open to doors toward C13. Spectrum is the sort to work the perimeter rather than head straight into the middle.


Spectrum moves with the rest towards the west.

An open flight of wooden stairs winds up to a trap door in the ceiling, thirty feet above.

Spectrum pointed up and sent Array and Glimmer toward the trap door.

Can you move us on the map, please? I want to be sure of where we are before I start posting intentions.


The little dragons flew up to the trapdoor and put their heads against it to listen.

Then Glimmer impulsively decided to try to push it open.

Not sure she's strong enough to do this. Lift weight for a diminutive quadruped is 15 pounds.


The little dragons open the door to find a small watch tower, manned by two snoring goblins. Several smashed pickle jars and pickle scraps lie around them.

Spectrum's eyes widened a bit. Goblins were tougher than they looked. A stinger to the eye might not be enough to kill one. It might just make it make a lot of noise. His hands started charging a spell.

If it wakes up, touch it.

Readied Action, Shocking Grasp via Share Spells to allow Glimmer to finish off the goblin if it doesn't die or fall asleep

The little dragon stinger punctures the goblin's eye, scoring a direct path through to scrape the brain, what little of it there is. The goblin expires soundlessly.

Array wasted no time and slammed his tail down into the other goblin's face.

I recall there are two goblins mounted on dogs north of us, Isme says. I wouldn't say I'd like to, but I suppose I'll scout for Chief Ripnugget or their allies.

Isme heads through the trapdoor and begins quietly investigating the other floors.

I'm not certain that's what Spectrum is going for, but I'll say not opening doors just yet but scouting ahead possible entrances. Doors can be left for later.

Ah. Then I won't be going forward without the rest of the party. Nothing I can't do alone that can't be done safer with a group.
