Janusz can't really say much more than "Thank you again Talia" as the innkeeper shows him to his room and makes all the preparations for a long awaited bath - "And please, no need to address me as 'Master' - I am a long way from being one" - he smiles.

Diplomacy?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Once the tub is set up, he just lays there soaking for some time, realizing how close he had been to never getting back to a 'civilized' area and enjoying every moment of it before finally beginning to scrape the dirt off.

Once done, and convinced most of the insidious smell is gone, Janusz slips into the only clothing he has left - a plain, long sleeved chemise and linen pants - putting his dirty, ragged ones in the bucket as instructed by Talia, but doubting if they will be 'wearable' even after washing.

With nothing more than that, a weapon belt with a light, silvered mace, his gold pouch, and a dagger on his boot, he moves downstairs to the common room, where the smells and sounds again invade his senses.

Noticing the gathered group, he moves there - "May I join you?"

Braylee Mulciberus wrote:

She turns to Delfi and answers her. "All of the bad ones. It was terrible. We were over run on more than one occasion. Luckily, Felix and Riley were able to save us all." She gives the boys a teasing grin.

Delfi's first reaction was one of awe and then her brows knitted and she pondered the true meaning of Braylee's words. The girl opened her mouth to speak then closed it without any words coming forth. Her hazel eyes moved from Riley to Felix and back to Riley. Delfi still seemed to be pondering the quest they had taken on and was unsure how close to death they had come. In a subdued voice, the younger Orem answered, "I'm glad you all survived and came back to us. You saved the town and you are heroes." Her customary soft dimpled smile appeared for a brief moment upon her declaration before growing silent. Perhaps Talia was right to have worried so ... The terrible kobolds had fought hard and they were so many against a few. Delfi shook herself out of her reverie and put on a warm smile. "Lady Origena is sure to be very happy! Perhaps she will put on a feast in your honour! That would be fun."

Talia smiled upon the newcomer's statement. "My family have been innkeepers for generations. Politeness and courtesy were highly valued by my family and essential to our patrons and business. But as you wish, I shall call you Janusz. There is lavender soap, wrapped in a linen square, inside the dresser. I will keep your food warm for when you return to the hall." Talia inclined her head and closed the door behind her.

When she noticed Janusz descending the stairs, Talia gestured for him to join the group. "Come, sit down and eat. We have ale and mead on the table, but if you care for something else to drink, please let Jax know and he shall bring it for you." Talia filled a bowl with the hearty rabbit stew and added a chunk of each bread and a wedge of cheese and set it before Janusz with a spoon and linen napkin.

As soon as Rhialtyra was done with her bath, she sent word down that she had a nasty headache and could some food and tea be brought up to her room for she would be retiring early this night to recover. Talia organised a tray and brought it up to her room as Jax was taking out the bath and buckets. Jax had a quiet word with his mistress in the hallway, "The newcomer's clothes are filthy and torn. Not sure they'd survive a laundering. He and Jorje are of the same build and I'll ask if he can lend the man some clothes until Mister Janusz can visit the General Store or Soorey's. I'll take Mistress Rhilatyra's clothes and put them in a bucket to soak. You will find them there when the washing is to be done." Talia thanked Jax and after bidding Rhilatyra a good night, rejoined the others at the table, below.

Janusz tried to eat calmly and with parsimony, but in all honesty he could not - on the one hand the food was delicious and well balanced, and on the other he was honestly still starving from the days spent in that hole with the kobolds - the mead in particular went down fast.

"As far as I am concerned, you honor your business family tradition" - the man pauses to compliment Talia - "The food and mead would be perfect regardless of me being starved or not" - then turns to the younger girl at the table - "Apologies for my manners - I am Janusz" - he offers in an apologetic tone.

"Eat in the manner you're compelled to, Janusz. The supper is just for your party as I have turned away other patrons this night," Talia smiled reassuringly before taking the seat across from Riley and Delfi and serving herself some food. Talia called Jax and Jorje to join them and eat.

As Janusz addressed her sister, Talia nodded that it was alright to return conversation, and the girl (who appeared to be around 14 or 15 summers old), smiled her pretty dimpled smile and responded, "I am Delfi Orem. It's good to meet you, Janusz. I've not seen you in town before. Where have you come from?"

Felix has been uncharacteristically quiet these last few hours. It seems his brush with death and feeling his lifes blood leaving him has left him shaken. Moving about in a sort of trance, he answers questions in single syllables and seems to not hear when someone is speaking to him. Finally he breaks from his reverie and looks around as if seeing everyone for the first time since the battle. My sincerest apologies, my thoughts took me away for a moment. What were we speaking about?

Sorry for the lack of posting but I'm getting back on track.

Riley looks at Felix and wonders what caused the charismatic 1/2 cat 1/2 man's trance. "We were about to hear Janusz's story. What brought you hear, mate?"

Janusz takes a long drink as Delfi inquires where he has came from - "Not from that far away Miss Orem" - he replied, staring at his own mug, then lifting his eyes to look at the girl and offering a smile - "Though sometimes it feels like I've traveled across the world"

Sense Motive DC5:

Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Clearly this is not one of Janusz's favorite subjects.

"I hail from Absolom recently. Learned to use one of these for something better than simply whacking someone over the head with it" - he nods at the mace at his waist - "Yeah, the Society has been a good part of my life for the last year or so. But originally I came from further north, the region around Arthfell Forest. Not sure if you know the area - it is a beautiful place" - the man stares at his drink again.

Riley "Lucky" Rylin'dar wrote:

"True, true. I was digressing" - he smiles again - "There is really not that much to it, except me being a fool - I was not in a particular mission or task, but had heard there were some opportunities to make a coin in the area, since 'humanoid' activity seemed to be at an high" - he shakes his head - "I decided to come down here on my own, even though my officer at the Society advised against it. Never been much into the 'line of command thing'..." - and shrugs.

"And this time I regretted it - some red scaled kobold and her two skeletons ambushed and captured me on the road. They brought me to be presented as some sort of tribute to the Chieftain of the tribe to curry favor for the one which took me in - I think it worked" - he nods.

"Then they just kept me as a 'pet' - he grumbles - "Chained in that cage, hands bound, mouth gagged, you know the drill - it wasn't pleasant" - the warrior finishes with another drink - "But I am here now"

Xemne's pale blue eyes fixed on Felix. The catfolk did seem out of sorts and more quiet than she had noted before. She wondered what had passed in the kobold lair for it to have had a marked effect on the adventurer. When the newcomer began sharing his story, her attention was diverted back to him.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

As he answered, vaguely, as to where he came from, Xemne was quick to note Janusz seemed hesitant to speak of it - as though he would rather not discuss it.

When he spoke of his misadventure on the road with the kobolds, Xemne interceded, "That does not make you a fool. The kobolds have been playing havoc on our town these past days and you were caught in their mischief. To be caged is a terrible thing and it is good that you are free and among civilised company. Do you mean to stay and try your luck in Belhaim, Janusz? Oh, apologies for I didn't introduce myself - I am Xemne, the town's apothecary, and cousin to Braylee."

Delfi's Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

She felt his reticence and did not push for more.

"You may call me Delfi. And it must have been exciting travelling far and wide. I have only ever known Belhaim." The girl gave a soft sigh as if she thought she would never travel or know of faraway places. But she could not be parted from Talia, Jax or Jorje and the girl's large, expressive eyes moved to Riley and she wondered if he would go away soon. Riley had shown some interest in Talia, but would he enjoy a small town like Belhaim? She didn't want to see her sister's heart hurt or broken. Delfi realised she had been staring at Riley a little too long and she returned her gaze and smile on Janusz. "You may stay here, for a while, like the others." Delfi looked across to Talia to see if she would be agreeable to having another lodger as it would mean more work for her and the others.

Talia quickly added, "You are welcome to a room and meals until you get back on your feet, Janusz." There was a hint of worry in Talia's dark eyes over the cost of having lodgers who were not paying for room and board, but it was not her way to turn people away after misfortune had befallen them. She and her people would make do - they always did. Talia gave the man a soft, encouraging smile.

Jorje, having finished his meal, moved toward his playing chair by the fire. He opened the case and picked up his violin and began to play a quiet, haunting melody while the others ate their supper and talked.

After tasting the ale, he carries on - "Staying and trying my luck seems like a good thing. I have never been so welcomed as a stranger in... Huh... Well, never I guess" - he smiles, more at ease now - "Though I get the feeling 'Belhaim's finest' have already addressed all that needed addressed" - he turns to those who released him - "And in the process saved me. So I thank you for that again"

"Traveling the world is perhaps one of the most amazing experiences one can live through I think Delfi" - he nods acknowledging both her words, and her request to be called by first name only - "I have seen much, and yet so little of what the world has to show, and that was one of the things that struck me most hard when I was caged - the thought that cave might be the last thing I would ever see" - again the man shakes his head, looking at Xemne with a smile - "Nope, no more commiseration. Just a fact"

Turning back to the young girl, he adds - "Though, for all the travels in this world, I still have the feeling nothing compares to having a place you call 'home' - where you know you will be welcome, and for a change, things will be as they always were, and not unexpected. I'm not sure I am explaining myself correctly" - he chuckles again.

"As for my stay here, and without demeaning your kind hospitality for which I will not thank again, lest I become boring" - he now looks at Talia - "I have gold, and I intend to pay for it. Starting with the bath and meals today, and finishing whenever I leave The Wise Piper" - his face is resolute - "Unless this offends you somehow Master Talia" - but still he jests with the title the innkeeper used with him before.

A small town can breed small minds, so be wary of who you meet here, Janusz. Earn the town's trust and learn more of the townsfolk and your troubles will be lessened."

Talia has been a little caught off guard with the recent overtures, first from Janusz and then Riley. In a voice as discreet as his own, she responded, "Your rewards for your endeavours are yours and I make no claim on them; none of my people do. If you would pay for room and board, then I accept, as it will help with supplies and the wages of my people, and would mean I would not have to take on more paying lodgers. We are fortunate for we have a garden and we have the skill to make most things we need. But we must make an income to afford the taxes and other expenses to keep the inn afloat." Talia's cheeks had turned pink for seldom did she speak of business with other people except those of her House.

"As to cleaning, Delfi will wash up the tableware and I will wash Rhia's dress and put it in the kitchen to dry. We have water on the stove for your bath and the other two. I'm afraid there isn't much time for putting my feet up tonight - Are you seeking a bath after the others have bathed and gone to bed?" Talia wasn't entirely sure of his meaning because on one hand he asked if she had time to relax once supper had ended but spoke of bathing after the others were settled for the night, but she couldn't manage the tub and water on her own. Mayhap she was missing something in his question ... Did he want some alone time with her once the others had retired? She was not readily versed in the art of words and subtle meaning or she was simply out of practice these past years and suddenly felt like an unsophisticated miss.

Riley responds to Talia, "I was offering to help on both...finances and cleaning because I care about you and your family. It is what friends do." He pauses, wondering about the formality of the conversation. "If you have no need of assistance and no time to relax and talk, I will take my bath at the same time as the others. Thank you for preparing the water." He nods and smiles kindly.

He turns his attention back to the newcomer, "Here is to your time in Belhaim, Janusz. We meet Lady Origena in the morning. I would like for you to join us if you are available." Riley lifts his cup and toasts the warrior. He chugs the remainder of his rum. His dark eyes remain down, peering into his empty cup as Jorje performs.

As Riley turned his attention to Janusz, Talia, uncertain of how she had given offence (even with his smile and words, something did not seem right), stood from the table and collected her bowl, spoon and mug. In the quietest of voices, she responded to his side profile, "I do want to talk. I have waited and worried. You've had a long day of fighting kobolds and I did not want to give you more work. Forgive me; I will do as bidden and leave you to your company," and with straight back, not looking at anyone, Talia moved to the bar and then toward the kitchen, disappearing behind the doors.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Noting Talia's strange and abrupt departure into the kitchen and Riley fascinated with the bottom of his cup, the apothecary leaned over and very quietly spoke to the Half-Elf, not caring if she incurred a retort, "You won't find her at the bottom of that cup. Go to her; she's been worried all day," before straightening, placing a smile on her face and letting Jorje's music wash over her.

Riley in the kitchen:

Talia was scrubbing a stain on Rhia's dress when Riley walked into the kitchen and started stacking the bowls neatly to one side, ready for washing. She rubbed the garment with the chamomile soap and then left it in the water to soak a little longer. She dried her hands on the cloth by the bucket.

When she turned at his voice; Riley could see a film of tears floating over her deep brown eyes. Talia listened to him as he offered explanation, and, when he reached out his hand to touch her, she did not pull away. She turned and stepped forward so she was standing right before him and looked up at him; and when she spoke her voice was very soft, "I have told you private things. Telling you about the finances of the inn is one of those private matters, for none but my household know of such things. I was trying to let you in; be honest with you, and I meant no formality in my tone or manner. I'm practical and my words are practical. That is all. I'm sorry you thought otherwise. I was trying to understand your meaning regarding the bath - please, next time just tell me you want to talk to me alone as you bathe. Even if I have work, I will set it aside to spend time with you." The shimmering tears were not wholly gone from her eyes - they held and made the brown of her eyes richer. She lifted her hands up to his face and felt the familiar stubble. "I care for you, too. I worried for you and wished you were not away from me." And with the words spoken, Talia stood on tiptoes and brushed her mouth against his, gently at first and then more ardently. She pulled away a little after the kiss; her breathing more marked, and softly added, "You are no mere guest, Riley. You haven't been since the moment our eyes met."

Felix raises his goblet as well in the toast to Janusz, his eyes traveling to the man. I also welcome you Janusz. Forgive my prior lapse in attention. Perhaps I could favor you all with a song in recompense?

Felix stands and begins to tap on a goblet with a small knife he carries, a pleasant ringing sound issuing forth. He then begins to sing , his voice like a gentle breeze carried across a sunlit field.

Felix's Song

Jorje's violin piece came to an end and before he could start up with another, the elder man saw the catfolk musician stand and offer to sing for the company's pleasure. So instead, he lay his instrument down in its velvet-lined case and moved to the bar to pour himself a mug of rum. Jorje then happily listened to the sweetly-sung melody as he sipped his drink.

The evening passed in good company. With supper finished, Xemne and Braylee took their leave and returned to their home. After Talia and Riley concluded their own discussion in the kitchen, baths were readied for Riley and Felix as Delfi cleared the table and washed up. Talia finished washing Rhialtyra's dress and hung it up by the stove to dry. She then joined Riley for some private conversation as he bathed, and, around 9 o'clock the bell at the front door rang and Jorje, in his sleeping robe and cap, answered the inquiry. A single female was thereupon given lodging and she climbed the stairs and took to her room without much small talk. She told Jorje she would be sleeping in and not to be disturbed in the morning. The night passed uneventfully at The Wise Piper.

Welcome to Level 3!

You all wake to the happy bustle of the people downstairs preparing food for their lodgers and getting ready for the day ahead. Fragrant, welcoming smells find their way to the top floor bedchambers and greet you as you descend to the dining hall.

On the table, you can see laid out: pumpkin scones with a homemade berry compote, a pot of warm porridge with a hint of cinnamon and honey, a selection of smoked meat and mild cheese, and two loaves of freshly baked, crusty bread (with a dish of soft butter on the side of the bread). Wooden bowls and spoons are set neatly for your use.

Riley:
Riley, your Strength is restored to normal with a good night's sleep/rest.

Delfi greets you in the hall with a warm smile, "Good morning! It looks like it's going to be lovely day." Jax is at the bar and Jorje is tending to the fire in the hearth; adding another log. Talia is not in the main hall, however you can hear her soft singing coming from somewhere behind the door of the kitchen.

I have decided to go with them as it is safer and more pleasant to travel with company. I know this sounds rather sudden, but after the encounter with the kobolds yesterday, I find I cannot undertake such work for it goes against all that I am as a healer and I must follow the path best suited for me. I am content that you have a fine healer in Janusz now to help you here in Belhaim. I am most grateful for your companionship and wish you only the best. I do not seek a portion of the reward for the kobolds - my share can go to Janusz for all his misfortune at their hands. May the gods protect us all." Rhia folds the note, and, moving to the kitchen, has a word with Talia, handing her a few gold coins for her troubles, and gathers up her clean, dry dress. She returns upstairs, finishes packing her bags and then returns below to break her fast before the wagon would come to fetch her.

Xemne and Braylee enter The Wise Piper as Rhialtyra sets her bags by the door. Rhialtyra tiredly smiles at them and explains she will be departing for Cassomir shortly. She bids them thanks and farewell.

You all hear a wagon pull up outside the inn. Rhialtyra turns, a shimmer of tears over her pretty eyes, and Jax helps her with her bags and getting up onto the wagon. The petite oracle and the man and wife you rescued wave and the wagon sets off. You watch as the wagon crosses the bridge and sets course east along the Verduran Highway. Then you turn and move back inside the inn.

Rhialtyra is now officially out of the game.

Talia in the kitchen:

Riley listens as Talia speaks. When she lifts up on her toes and kisses him, he closes his eyes and takes in the sweetness of her lips. Tears come to his eyes as she speaks softly and kindly. He reaches around her waist and pulls her close. Hugging her tightly, "Forgive me...I still have a lot to learn." He leans back and looks into her eyes again. "I care for you and would not do anything intentionally to hurt you or your family. I know you have a lot of responsibility here. Please just let me know how I can help."

He steps back and slides his hands down to grasp hers. "We meet with the Baroness tomorrow. I am not sure what will happen, but I intend to stay here indefinitely..." He pauses to judge her reaction.

Riley wakes and moves down to the common room. He feels well rested. He greats Delfi with a hug and then tousels her hair a bit. "Morning, trouble." He sits down and enjoys the meal. The food is outstanding as usual. "I may have to purchase new pants if I continue to eat this well!" He jokes with his companions.

He stands as Rhia announces her decisions. "I wish you the best, Rhia. This lifestyle is not one I would wish on anyone I cared about. Unfortunately though, there are ugly people in this world and someone has to deal with them for others to have peace. Continue to heal and do good. Your gift makes a difference." He sits and begins eating again.

Retcon with Riley in Kitchen the night before:

At his admission and upon his own tears, Talia gently replied, "Nothing to forgive. We will know each better with time. And, I see how you care for us. I do accept your help."

As he grasped her hands in his own, she looked up at him and after his intention to remain was made clear, she lifted his right hand and brought it to her lips so she could tenderly kiss his knuckles, before replying softly; a delicate rasp in her voice, "That makes me very happy. I want you to stay."

Delfi's smile grew wider at Riley's affection toward her. "I'm not trouble, Riley. I'm a perfect angel;" there was a mischievous glint in her large, expressive hazel eyes.

Riley:
You now note that among the hazel colour of Delfi's eyes there are areas of blue in each eye, just below each iris. Strange you didn't see that upon your return last evening.

"You work hard, Riley, so you deserve to eat well! You'll just work the food off," was the girl's quick reply to the portions of food they served.

Drawing closer, she sat down and quietly added, "It's my birthday in two days hence, Riley. Talia is putting on a party!"

Riley:
During your conversation with Talia last night (when you were bathing), she told you about the upcoming birthday party. She asked you to pretend like you don't know about it, so play it how you see fit with Delfi. ;)

Felix comes downstairs and when Rhia moves off he steps forward and flourishes his hands before a single red rose appears in it. Handing it to her he says May your roads be smooth and your stars bright. I wish you nothing but the best.

Returning, he looks to Riley and nods in approval at his statement about the food. I quite agree Riley. If this keeps up I will become a literal Fat Cat. You're not making the food so good to fatten me up to cook me as well are you Delfi? He says playfully.

He then tucks into his food, famished due to the exertions of the previous day.

Braylee moves in and sits with the men. She sees Rhia move out with her gear. "I guess she just couldn't stomach all this?" She helps herself to the fine meal. "This is delicious." As Felix mentions being a fat cat. "I noticed the waistline, but I didn't want to say anything." She grins at Felix.

Riley doesn't say anything about Delfi's eyes, but he takes note. He acts surprised when Delfi mentions the party? "Really? I better be invited!" He gauges her reaction. "I happen to love celebrating birthdays!"

He greets Braylee. "Sleep well?"

He smiles at Braylee's teasing Felix.

The girl giggled. "Talia does most of the cooking! I'll ask her not to put so much flavour into it." Delfi looked at the cat-man, finding it hard to believe he could get fat based on his lean, muscular form. It was then Braylee joined in the conversation, praising the food and teasing Felix.

"Yes! You're invited! All of you are. If you miss it, I'll be most sad."

F Human (Ulfen) Shaman 3

Below stairs the voices and sounds were growing louder and Sigrún rose begrudgingly from the cot, wiping the sleep from her eyes. Lifa's golden eyes were fixed on her and the woman gave a grunt, "Yes, yes, it is past time, I know." Moving to the pitcher and bowl on the dresser, Sigrún splashed her face and neck, letting the water revive her. How I wish I was bathing in the river that flows here, she mused inwardly. Lifa chirped from her makeshift nest on the chair, sensing her mistress' emotions well enough. "Yes, you would hunt for fish as I bathe, I know." Dressing quickly, Sigrún moved to the side of the room, closest to the window, and opened the shutters to feel the breeze on her wet face and let in the sun. The shaman warrior sat down on the clean wooden floor, laid her greatsword long ways by her legs and gave a quick *whistle*. Lifa stretched her wings and rose from the "nest" to fly over and land on Sigrún's crossed legs. In rich voice, in her native tongue, Sigrún began the words; Lifa's succession of chirps attending,

"Spirits, veita mér visku, hugrekki og sigur. Spirits, veita mér Primal styrk þinn og vera mér við hlið."

Common translation:
"Spirits, grant me wisdom, courage and victory. Spirits, grant me your primal strength and remain by my side."

Together, mistress and raptor remained so, in pure communion, and, the hour passed and the spells were chosen for the day ahead.

"Þú sem velur veginn, horfa á verkum mínum og þegar minn tími kemur til að keyra himininn með þér, verði endalok mín sem verður lagsins."

Common translation:

"You who chooses the slain, look on my deeds and when my time comes to run the sky with you, let my end be worthy of song."

With her final words, and Lifa's high-pitched whistle, it was done and they rose, and readied themselves to face those below stairs.

Felix pats his belly in mock offence and says You wound me greatly Braylee! My feelings have been hurt that you mock me so! Only more of this great cooking can make me feel better! He then returns to the food with gusto, laughing with his companions.

Talia moved out of the kitchen carrying a pot of hot coffee and set it down on the table.

"Good morning," her eyes moved about the group, before resting tenderly on Riley.

"A messenger arrived at the back door and delivered a note. It has the Lady Origena's seal on it." She pulled it from her pocket and handed it across to Riley to open and read/share with the group.

Delivered Note

Current time: 9.10am.

Current Map

As soon as the missive had been opened and read aloud to the group did the most recent patron descend the staircase to the dining hall.

The tall, robust female had long blonde, braided hair, pale blue eyes and a fair face touched by two prominent pink scars - through her right eyebrow and through the right corner of her mouth, and, a tattoo of a bird under and to the side of each eye. She was dressed clean and well - her cloak was trimmed with ermine. On her hip was a finely crafted greatsword.

On her forearm, on the falconry gauntlet, sat a very small raptor - an osprey - speckled white, black and brown and it watched you with keen, golden eyes.

Image of Woman

The woman's pale eyes - the colour of a winter's morning - flit from one person to another, noting every aspect of the room before moving to the front door of the inn, opening it and giving some foreign command to the osprey, "Go, fæða, Lifu, og aftur þegar þú ert búinn." The raptor took the air and flew out the door toward the river.

Common Translation from Skald:
"Go, feed, Lifa, and return once you are done."

The woman left the door partially open, so the osprey could come in once she was done, and then took a seat at an empty table nearest the door.

Jorje moved dutifully to her table and enquired respectfully, "I hope you slept well, Mistress Sigrún."

"Well enough,", came the plain response in a rich, accented voice, and remembering her manners before the gathered company, added "I thank you. I would break my fast."

Talia gazed at the woman - only hearing of her arrival from Jorje in the morning when they had began preparations for the day ahead. "Welcome to The Wise Piper. I am Talia Orem, proprietress of the inn. I will bring you some food and drink." Talia ladled some of the honey and cinnamon porridge from the pot into a bowl and added a spoon. On another wooden plate, she placed a sample of the other fare and brought it over to the table. The woman's blue eyes bore into Talia, and, as soon as the food was set before the fair woman, her new patron asked, "Have you mead or buttermilk?"

"Aye, we have both." Looking to Jax she motioned to him to bring the woman's desired drinks. The blonde woman gave an approving nod and spooned the porridge into her mouth.

Time: 10.00am
Date: Starday, 2nd day of Gozran
Location: Devy Manor
--------------------

With breakfast finished, the group readied itself and left the inn; making their way up the hill toward the baroness' estate.

Once more the party is greeted at the door by a male house servant and shown into the drawing room. A moment later Origena, Arnholde and their private guardsman enter the room and take their respective positions. The guard and noble son eye the stranger (Janusz) among the group with some curiosity and suspicion.

Lady Origena, in her ornate sitting chair, hands clasped in her lap, addresses the party, "I have been most anxious to hear news of the kobold situation. Have they been dealt with for good? Is the town safe from their trickery and attacks? I see the pretty healer is not among you. Did she perish in the endeavour?"
