Exiel rips off the window boards and 42 scans the fog for magic. At first he does not detect any magic, however, just before he lets his spell drop, he suddenly feels a blip of magic. Exiel pulls 42 back as the fog advances on the hut.
The fog continues to advance, and 42 steps in to cut it. He sends a massive jolt of vampiric energy and sucks out the remaining lifeforce from the aberrant mist, causing it to dissipate.

As he looks up, he sees another face taking shape in the fog and advancing towards you!

Rhon blesses the party and Mike blasts the mist while the rest of you wait for the mist to get closer. However, the trench mist drifts closer but stops just at the edge of the fence. Seconds later, multiple cracks ring out from within the mist, and each of you feel sharp lances of pain as bullets fly out from within the fog, catching you all off-guard and making you easy targets none of you have uncanny dodge, attacks vs flat-footed-touch AC.

Pathfinders are up. You cannot see where from inside the fog the bullets are coming from. Worst still, you are almost certain that the sounds of guns firing would have been heard by the guards in the nearby watchtowers!

Exiel curses as he takes a hit again.

"Well, this place is doing hell for my streak of getting through missions unscathed," he mutters. "Hey Mike, if either of you have spells or abilities that affect an area, I think now would be a great time to use it. I also think that we're likely to get more company pretty soon, so we're gonna need to act quickly if we wanna check out the stone building on the other side!"

Mindful of the need to conserve his power for dimension door spells to facilitate their escape, Exiel opts for defence using his simpler spells. He moves so that he no longer has line of sight to the mist and readies an action to cast silent image over the window once the rest of the party is done with their actions. An image of a stone wall appears, rising up on the inside of the building, blocking off the window.

"It's an illusion," he hisses to his allies once he finishes his spell, but not so loud that the enemies can hear him easily. He is also careful to use Taldane, which apparently most of the people on this planet do not understand.

DC21 to disbelieve. The rules say "a character faced with proof that an illusion isn’t real needs no saving throw." Would a statement by the caster to his allies count as proof?

Anyone in a 5' radius burst must make a reflex save (DC 24) or take 8d6 + 29 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 6, 4) + 29 = 55 damage quartered, or 13 damage. the Reflex save halves the damage. The area will grow to a 10' radius burst next round and a 15' radius blast the round after that.
