Hey guys - I'll be heading up to a remote mountain cabin tomorrow afternoon and won't be back until Monday. There's no phone signal up there, so I'll be off the grid for the duration of the trip.
Feel free to have Valamont on auto-pilot while I'm gone.
Valamont touches his sword and whispers, ”Strike true this day, mother,” (Using arcane pool to give sword +1 enhancement) before stepping forward and attacking the creature. His attack is horribly off-balance, however, and he angrily spits out a few words. "I said strike true, not through the floor!"
LOL - well played, sir, well played! I like it! There aren't many times where I can say I enjoyed someone rolling a natural 1 for me in the heat of combat, but this is one time when I can =D

Hey, it happens. Reincarnation is the least expensive of the resurrection spells, and can have some interesting results. My elf fighter/wizard came back as a kobold... It was different being able to touch the eyeball with the tongue.... definitely weird.

Ogres have a 10 ft reach, so its hard to do any maneuvering at all without granting the ogre an attack of opportunity. But unless it had Mobility or Combat Reflexes or whatever that feat is, it probably should only have one opportunity attack each round.

At first I thought that the ogre had already taken one, but when looking at the initiative order I believe the AoO on Adolphus was round four and the one on Dreygard round five.
I'm down to my last point in my arcane pool (not a huge deal) and I still have both my spells left. I'm hesitant to turn around and head back now because it feels like we only left Cauldron like, 20 minute ago.
Conversely, being dead is no fun for that character's player.
Personally, I prefer to favor fun over any other considerations, so my vote is to return and get Dorian back in the game as soon as possible.
To weigh in, I generally would prefer all players having fun, especially with the pace of PBPs. Dorian could be out of action for several weeks in real life if you continue to explore. That's a good recipe for losing a player's interest.
Of course, it's also up to Dorian, if he wants to continue.
I agree with Valamont. We return and see what happens. If Dorian cannot be revived, maybe another character can be 'rolled up' (sounds like an archaic term these days in PbP).

We should go back. Even though it was probably only 20 minutes, having a colleague chopped in half by an ogre can make those 20 minutes into a full day. Immediate priority should be to get Dorian back to the priests and see what they can do.
I can't imagine a mimic would be alright being set in a rancid pile of feces and other excrement - but if it is a mimic maybe it'll be so hungry it'll eat the ogre's corpse while we're gone. No evidence! =P
I'm good to keep playing either as this character or another. I'm in some other PbPs so I'm keeping up with this game when I post in the other ones. So don't worry about rushing up to bring me back if you'd rather keep exploring. :P
Return, take Dorian's body back, see what happens then. If Jenya has some immediate solution we can continue adventuring, if not we can wait a day or so.

I've updated Valamont's profile now with his level 2 stats. With Dorian and I swapping spells, I'll pick up jump from him and take color spray along with chill touch from my level instead.
Note: my arcane pool won't make my weapon +1 any longer, instead, burning a point will give me +10 to my movement speed and +2 AC vs AoO provoked due to moving for 1 minute
Does copying spells from one spellbook to another cost anything material/gp wise? I thought it was just a check, but Dorian's post about not having money for new spells has me unsure of myself.
Writing any spell into your spellbook always costs money except for the spells you get when you level up. The cost for writing a spell into your spellbook is the (level of the spell squared) * 10. So a first level spell costs 10 gp.
Copying a spell from somebody else's spellbook also requires a Spellcraft check equal to 15 + the spell level. This is pretty much never a check that needs to be rolled, however, since just about anybody who can do this has enough ranks in Spellcraft that taking 10 is good enough to do it.
Darthal is out of town - probably why he isn't posting much, but everybody else except Valamont is nearly MIA. Need some prompting from me on where to go/what to do?
Regarding HPs at level ups - do we get 1/2 the hit die or 1/2 the hit die + x? I'm confused by the "Max HP at first level, half rounded up after that". Hit Die are all even numbers, so there's nothing to round, right?
He popped into the Ask James Jacobs thread earlier this week, but those kind of posts are a lot easier than pbp-GM ones I'd imagine. I wonder if his (x new) notifications fell off? I'll shoot him a PM just to cover our bases.
I apologize for the absence. I've definitely lost notifications as well, which didn't help, but the bigger culprit is real life - it's been really hectic recently, cutting into my Pathfinder time, and just about all of that has been consumed by the non-PBP games I play and GM for.
I am enjoying this game a lot, and I'll try to get back to updating it - I have most of the next post ready - but the updates are most likely going to be more sporadic than I'd like.
