@Luccinus, this is the remnants of a TPK Legacy of Fire. If they are ok with you joining, and if you are willing and able to participate in a round robin GM PFS PbP of indeterminate length (no cap on number of consecutive scenarios) then we will see what the others say...
Kenji Nishida |
I tried to drag my avatar onto the map, but it simply places the picture on a blank black page, the map disappears when I do it... Any ideas?
Akinra |
Just swapped to windows to see if I could replicate, and I did!
On windows:
1) Right Click your character's Avatar here on the Paizo Forums.
2) Select the "Save Image As" option, and select a save destination (preferably somewhere you will remember!)
3) Follow the link to the maps and missions folder, found HERE
4) Select Insert
5) Select Image
6) Drag your character avatar onto the blank space provided.
7) Select a corner and drag to resize so the avatar fits in one of the squares.
Feel free to put yourselves in marching order on Map I, also feel free to place icons on the other maps if you like. There are several other maps (well 2-3) but those come with the book, and I will post them in the future.
Also! I put the chronicle up in the folder, but hid it. If you can see it, let me know, and I will take it down pending completion. When we complete, I will finish editing, and then make downloadable so you can fill in the player parts.
Kenji Nishida |
Thanks for putting my icon on the map, because I could not get an 'insert' option when I right clicked. As a side note - I am not able to manipulate my character image on the map either, so I'm glad where you put him is fine with me.
Akinra |
ok, I will play with windows more tomorrow at work. I never use windows anymore so my windows-fu is weak-sauce.
Akinra |
When I am at work, I will try from a PC, I have the google drive app installed on my mac and ipad, so it all works easy peasy, but others have told me they have issues, so I will build a Windows Tutorial as best I can tomorrow over lunch.

Options are good!
Option 1:
Continue Citadel of Flame
Once the home to a cult preaching self-sacrifice by immolation in order to achieve paradise, the Citadel of Flame in Qadira's Meraz Desert was presumably wiped out decades ago after Sarenrae dervishes led a crusade to end its morbid message. An enormous sandstorm swallowed both the citadel and the army attacking it, burying both beneath hundreds of feet of sand. Thought lost forever, the citadel's rediscovery prompts the Pathfinder Society to send you deep in the unforgiving Meraz to finally close the book on Qadira's most mysterious cult.

Option 2:
Start Godsmouth Heresy
Deep below the anarchic city of Kaer Maga, someone—or some thing—has begun stealing corpses from the city’s most prestigious tomb, the Godsmouth Ossuary. Fearing the worst, the clerics of Pharasma in charge of maintaining the crypts quietly call for aid, not wanting to risk their own members in combating whatever horrors may have crept in from the tunnels and hidden chambers of the legendary Undercity. Yet when the PCs venture below the closed-off sections of the crypt, what they find may be more than they bargained for. For beneath the infamous crypt lies a temple from an ancient empire devoted to sin, and a former Pharasmin cleric who’s weathered his goddess’s wrath to create an army of undead minions, their dead flesh standing ready to support his heretical plans.
The Godsmouth Heresy is an adventure for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world’s oldest RPG. It takes place beneath the cliff-top city of Kaer Maga, an ancient prison colony turned den of thieves and refugees, fully detailed in Pathfinder Campaign Setting: City of Strangers. In addition to the adventure, which features ancient tombs, horrifying sin magic, and a crazed alchemist, this module also contains statistics for the new rune guardian constructs and a map and overview of the Godsmouth Cathedral, the city’s primary temple devoted to the Lady of Graves. Though this adventure is set in the frontier region of Varisia in the Pathfinder campaign setting, it can easily be adapted for any game world.

Option 3:
Start Crypt of the Everflame
The young heroes of the town of Kassen are ready for their coming-of-age ceremony, an old tradition in which they retrieve a piece of the eternal flame burning in the tomb of the town’s founder. Yet when they arrive there, they find only the corpses of their fellow townsfolk, dead bandits, and mysterious animated skeletons. The novice heroes must brave the traps and perils of the Crypt of the Everflame, discover the source of the corruption that has awakened an ancient evil, and defeat a menace that seeks vengeance against Kassen and its people.
Crypt of the Everflame is a dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world’s oldest RPG. The adventure map uses the same layout as the 2009 edition of Paizo’s GameMastery Flip-Mat: Dungeon. This adventure is set in the forested land of Nirmathas in the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting, but can easily be set in any game world. It can be used on its own or combined with its sequels, Masks of the Living God and City of Golden Death to create an even greater campaign arc.
Designed specifically for the new Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules and designed by the new game’s primary designer, Crypt of the Everflame spotlights exciting new rules updates and character abilities, making the ideal introductory adventure for Pathfinder RPG players. A new era in fantasy roleplaying begins here!

Option 4:
Start Murder's Mark
An urban mystery adventure for 1st-level characters.
Everyone in the fishing town of Ilsurian is excited when the legendary Umbra Carnival rolls into town—even if the show is run by members of the much-maligned Varisian ethnic group. With strange and exotic beasts, scandalous performances, games of chance, and all the other fun of a traveling fair, who could resist such an opportunity for entertainment?
Unfortunately for both the town and the circus, however, entertainment isn’t the only opportunity the carnival presents. Hidden within Ilsurian, a guild of thieves and scoundrels has been waiting for just such an occasion to launch a campaign of theft and murder—leaving the strangers from the circus to take the blame. With tensions mounting between locals and performers, and the body count rising on both sides, it’s up to the PCs to uncover what’s really going on and clear the circus’s name before the entire town erupts in a firestorm of ethnic violence.
Murder’s Mark is an adventure of mystery, illusion, and mob justice for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world’s oldest RPG. This volume also contains a gazetteer of the traveling Umbra Carnival and a brand-new monster pulled from history and mythology, all of which can easily be adapted for use in any campaign setting.

Generally the longer modules award: (OPTIONS 2, 3, 4)
3 Experience point (enough for 1 level)
4 PP (you can gain a maximum of 6 on 3 scenarios)
Generally, a Scenario awards: (OPTION 1)
1 Experience point
1 PP with potential for a Faction Mission bonus PP
---------------------------------------------------------------------
A module takes less time than 3 scenarios, offers roughly average gold for 3 scenarios, but has the potential for a PP deficit. Note: You will likely NOT get every PP available in a Scenario, but you do get the PP for the Module assuming your characters survive.

Ok so I figured out what I'm doing.
I made a Half-orc mindchemist Alchemist but I need help with which faction would fit. I took child of the temple so I figured he was raised in a temple to a god of knowledge in Absalom. Also, how do I get a PFS number for the character?
Akinra |
At the top of the page, click "My Account"
99% chance it will ask for password; enter it if needed.
click submit
->On the left side, the first box should be personal settings
->the second box is Message board Settings
->The third box is Message board aliases.
->The fourth box down on the left hand side should be Pathfinder Society.
Click Pathfinder Society
You should be prompted to register and to register a new character.
Register the character alias you will be using online.
It will auto assign a number (I think we are in the high 80k now?)
Akinra |
once you click on Pathfinder Society, there should be an option to register a character.
I downloaded Crypt of the Everflame, I hope no one has done it. It is a lot longer and drops you right to level 2!
Side Note:
Once you have 3 exp, before you start a campaign as a level 2, you get a rebuild. Complete and total.
You can go from a 7 Int Aasimar Paladin named Boris to a 20 Int Tiefling Wizard named Svetlana if you want, keeping all the stuff you have earned along the way. . .
Kenji Nishida |
I haven't played Crypt so it's fine with me.
Akinra |
Ok, Relaunch as soon as everyone is set! I will set up a Maps folder. There are no missions for Modules, you just get a bonus PP for showing up!
Kenji Nishida |
You might want to rethink your choice of faction, Drelsh - apparently Lantern Lodge and Shadow Lodge are being phased out or restricted - as of mid-August sometime, you will have to pick another faction anyway and change - I chose Lantern Lodge first too, and got told I would have to change it.
Kenji Nishida |
relevant text:
Below are a few of the changes we wanted to bring to light that are coming down the pipe in the next few months, culminating at Gen Con in August.
We are removing two factions from the campaign as character choices. The first to be phased out will be the Lantern Lodge faction. When Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-21: Way of the Kirin is released in late May, members of the faction will get to participate first-hand in the culmination of their faction's plot. At PaizoCon in early July, Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-23: Rivalry's End will similarly conclude the Shadow Lodge faction's involvement at a PC organization in the campaign. Members of each retiring faction will receive a special boon in their respective retirement scenario exclusive only to members of the affiliated faction.
Members of eliminated factions will be able to join one of the eight remaining factions at no cost of Prestige Points, and must do so by August 14, 2013. Characters will be able to keep faction-specific traits, boons, vanities, and prestige awards received while members of the Lantern Lodge and Shadow Lodge, with one exception. The "no one left behind" prestige award found in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide will no longer be available for play.
YOu can read the entire thread here
SO per the relevant text, you COULD pick Lantern Lodge or Shadow Lodge now if there's a trait you really want from that Lodge, but you would still have to change factions in August, but you could keep the traits, and perhaps participate in the special scenario for the faction's end. You'd have to talk to our DM about that...
Akinra |
I am at a CLE tonight and tomorrow until 7 pm. I will update as often as possible during that time, but I make no guarantees other than once to twice per day.
Akinra |
The special event has to be done at or before August 14, 2013. There is talk that that will be extended for PbP. Unfortunately, you have to be level 3+ to run in the scenario (Rivalry's End for Shadow Lodge, The Way of the Kirin for Lantern Lodge). It is highly improbable that this will be done on or before the 14th. However, there is some debate as to whether or not you can run a pre-gen for the Boon. I will double check, and if possible, I could run the Rivalry's End scenario contemporaneous with this so you would have the boon if it is legitimate.
Akinra |
Keep on having fun RPing.
Post a watch list when convenient.
WIll continue on tomorrow afternoon. Right now I need sleep!
Akinra |
So for I posted this in game play as well in short. Long version is because you have a ranged type, it would be a little beneficial for the remainder of you to generally hold action until after he throws since he uses splash weapons. Soon, Alchemists get the ability to exclude people from the blast radius, but until then it is probably best to hold so he can get clear shots off at the enemies.
If you all fiat that this will happen, I will just start resetting initiatives with that in mind, as in I will operate under the default notion that everyone without a ranged option holds action until after the alchemist.
Akinra |
Your cleric is at -2 HP
Your Ninja made his heal check.
Drelsh will heal 2 hp over 8 hours with the care of Kenji.
This will leave Drelsh at 0 HP in the morning, and conscious. He can then cast CLW.
Kenji will be fatigued for not having slept unless you are nice and let him sleep from 6 am until noon, for example, since he was nice enough to nurse the cleric. . .

The trees begin to thin, revealing a field of short, green grass that leads to the shores of a wide, calm lake reflecting the overcast sky above. A dense fog hangs over the center of the lake, obscuring the far side. Near the shore of the lake, a dark form lies next to the water.

ooc sorry i am on my iphone and the brackets are a pain to do, so I didn't do the group reflexes. i can when i get home in a couple hours if you haven't yet.

I am going to (as a general rule) wait for at least 4 players to respond to each post, investigate, make checks, etc. before I advance. I don't like to leave too many behind. In the event that you will be missing from action for a couple days, please let us know and nominate another active player to NPC you. I hate GMNPCing players, just because I know the plot and what has to be checked and all that in advance.

I am going in for surgery this morning and have no idea when I'llbe ablr to post again. Hopefully within a couple of days. DM - please bot me until I get back. Thanks.
Kenji Nishida |
Just a quick update to let you all know I survived surgery and am on the mend. Still in the hospital for now but healing well. Looking forward to some roleplay to pass the time while I recuperate!
