Dahr grabs Eli and pulls him into his corner around the building from the bleeding halfling with the axe. He then steps 5' into the square and attempts to push the halfling backwards into the Female wearing the mask and barking the commands. The halfling takes the opportunity to swing at Dahr...
attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 1 = 10
dmg: 1d10 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
But in his fury swings wildly past the warrior as he gets pushed back into the female leader of the band. He stumbles past her into the edge of mist, as she roughly shoves him past her.
Dahr is out of moves/actions at this point, so cannot move into the halfling's space
Elindriel is able to maintain her song as she steps up over Eli and draws her curved blade, ready for action.
GM Aarvid |
Thosar is able to cast his spell and magical force now protects him.
Meanwhile the eagle swoops down for its last attack on the green clad lady...
claw: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13
dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
claw: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24

dmg: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
GM Aarvid |
From behind the eagle you see the rogue step out of the mist, onto the roof and take a stab at the pesky eagle with his rapier.
rapier: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
He skewers the valiant bird, and it disappears as it returns to its plane of existance.
The halfling yells to the masked woman "Deandre, you need to heal me...I am gravely wounded and cannot fight for long!" he sets down his axe and starts digging through his backpack.

You once again hear the giddy female voice casting a spell, and a flash of light emerges from the mist, striking Dahr for

The masked female yells "Healing? HEALING? Why you #&@!#* little coward...how dare you ask me for healing you worthless piece of $#^!"
As she turns and stabs her shortsword at the unarmed halfling...

Stabbing him in the neck and he drops like a limp kitten.
"Now, where was I?" as she turns back towards Dahr...speaks 'ycoptac' and two of her step towards Dahr laughing with blood dripping from her sword.
Archmoon Saevan |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Archmoon aims his longbow at the masked female and loudly addresses his companions:
"It seems that one is a healer, strike her down first!"
Round 3, 8/10 HP

GM Aarvid |
Archmoon lets loose with another arrow at the pair of masked females

The arrow passes through an image which disappears, leaving only the true opponent.
Up Next....
Dahr
Elindriel
Thosar
Elindriel Firesong |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Elindriel, hearing Archmoon's recommendation, grins. "Okay, but she's killing her own people - why not leave her 'til last, and let her help us all the more?"
Free action: maintain bard song
Swift action: arcane strike
Standard action: attack
Attack (bard song): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 1 = 12
Damage (arcane strike): 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Dahriakt Tolumeh |
Im not sure if I was able to equip the shield on the last round, I will assume I did, if not I will attack with the trident once and equip the shield.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Perplexed at the woman stabbing her own comrades Dahr gets even more infuriated but says no word, instead proceeds to attack the woman:
Trident Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Trident Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Shield Bash Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Shield bash Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
GM Aarvid |
Elindriel maintains her singing as she tries to slash the crazed masked woman. The enchanted elven curved blade swings wide of her mark.
Dahr equips his shield and attacks once with his trident.
between the bardsong and no penalty for 2WF, he barely hits....but it is enough.
The lady in green spits out a final insult "No....NOOO...I will not be defeated...by the %#*#! Garundian" as she falls to the ground, bleeding from 3 deep puncture wounds to her mid-section.
The rogue looks on as his leader collapses. From the roof he hurls a dagger..."Take that!
dagger: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
at the archer, Archmoon, hitting him in the leg for 3pts of damage
and then turns and retreats back into the mist.
GM Aarvid |
Round 4
Seeing her leader and her meat-shield bleeding on the ground, a young blond woman with crazed, steely blue eyes and thick red lips steps out of the mist...
She laughs with glee "Do not worry Deandre! I will avenge you! Die you Pathfinder pawns! Die..."
As she points in your direction, a vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from her hand...
will saves from Archmoon, Elindriel, Dahr
Thosar Seltenmus |
"Oh no, you witch! You don't get to do things like that for free. Didn't they tell you that enchanting a Pathfinder is dangerous business?"
With a loud exclamation Thosar casts an acid dart towards the direction of young blond enchantress.
Acid dart ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 vs. her Touch AC
potential acid dmg.: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
GM Aarvid |
Archmoon and Elindriel avoid the blinding rays of light....
Thosar, We will still need to resolve Dahr's save and action to see if he is still up...and providing cover from ranged attacks...
Dahr is next...
Elindriel Firesong |
Elindriel presses the attack.
Free action: maintain bard song
Swift action: arcane strike
Move action: move around the corner
Standard action: attack
Attack (bard song): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 1 = 18
Damage (arcane strike): 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 1 = 12
Dahriakt Tolumeh |
Dahr Attempts having no way to maneuver, attempts to throw his trident at the blond female that is in front of Elindriel.
Trident Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Trident Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
I assume i must roll something else, since Elindriel is in front of me, and I get my strength to the damage roll when is thrown too? If not please remove the +3
GM Aarvid |
Elindriel moves up to stand over the fallen woman and slashes the blond sorceress, dropping her in a single blow.
With three of the assailants down, Dahr and Thosar do not see any sign of the other rogue that was last observed on the roof.
If either of you want to move into the mist or take other actions, please let me know.
Remember that due to poor visibility, movement in mist is half speed.
1d20 ⇒ 10
1d20 ⇒ 3
1d20 ⇒ 19
Thosar Seltenmus |
He is a true rogue and you suspect he is running...also any actions with the 3 bleeding foes or 1 fallen friend (Eli)?
The best Thosar can (and will) do unless there's someone "better" to it, is to try an Untrained Heal check.
Sensing that the "ambush" is over, wizard dashes towards their fallen comrade. Noticing that Eli is not bleeding, he would move to the closest fallen enemy and try to prevent him from bleeding out.
Untrained heal check: 1d20 ⇒ 11
"Guards! Guards! Healer! We need some help over here!" - Thosar shouts as loud as he can, trying to attract attention.
Only after all is said and done, when/if any of the hurt persons were stabilized, he would try to cast Detect magic on his fallen foes.
GM Aarvid |
Thosar has no luck in stopping the bleeding. All three of the foes are in bad shape but the halfing and the blond sorceress seem to have stabilized. The masked red-head is still bleeding and close to death.
Archmoon hears running footsteps through the mist, presumably the rogue. Guards can be heard coming from several blocks away as the alarm had been raised. It will take them half a minute or more to arrive due to the crowds.
Dahriakt Tolumeh |
I assume that since Elindriel felled the blond woman, Dahr previous action did not happen? if so, he will step into the mist
Dahr looks around the rogue from his current position, and realizes he is not to be seen from where he is standing. With trident and shield in hand, he moves to the mist, slowly and with caution, expecting to be jumped at any moment.
GM Aarvid |
Dahr moves forward into the mist. He hears running footsteps heading away down the alleyway. He also spots the Halfling in the mist, axe on the ground at his side and a glass vial in his right hand.
Archmoon can tell Eli is already stable, so additional first aid will not help him. The red headed female leader is still bleeding out if you want to try to stabilize her?
Dahriakt Tolumeh |
Is the halfling unconcious? If he is, an attack is needed, feel free to roll for me, or i will check before i go to sleep to roll.
Dahr kicks away the vial from the halfling hands on his way after the running footsteps, If he is able to get a good view of the guy running away and he is at range, he will throw his trident at him.
Thosar Seltenmus |
Seeing that most of the fallen people are not bleeding out anymore, and that Archmoon seemed much more knowledgeable in healing people, Thosar stops with his paltry attempts.
Seems that the guard is coming, let us get to more practical things then - he thinks to himself while casting detect magic spell over the fallen.
GM Aarvid |
Archmoon stabilizes the red headed leader. All three of the assailants are unconscious but in no immediate danger. The forth ran away and Dahr sees no sign of him in the dark alley as the last rays of sun set on the horizon.
After half a minute, the mist clears and a small contingency of city guards arrive and start asking questions, trying to sort out the mess.
There is not enough time to strip them of their armor, but the thugs have various gear and weapons (some better than your own) that you can take before the guards arrive. A full list can be provided later.
Shortly the Sargent of the Watch walks up with his squad "Alright, alright, what is going on here? We heard there were reports of fighting and harmful spells being cast in the city. That is not allowed. Medic, check these wounded..."
He looks at the fallen halfling and pokes him with his boot.
"Ah, some of these I recognize, we have had problems with this halfling Ledford before. Troublemaker. Who are the rest of you? I do not recognize the two females or other male. I need some answers or we are taking all of you down to the station."
GM Aarvid |
The guards start to put manacles on the two females and Eli and the halfling as the medic gets out a curative wand.
The rest of you are pulled aside and for questioning by the sargent.
Thosar Seltenmus |
Prior to the arrival of the guards, providing there is enough time, Thosar would advise/ask his comrades to retrieve the vials from the fallen enemies.
"Two magic emanating vials are on the red headed female, also two on that blond sorceress, plus the one Dahr has just kicked from halfling hands. Please pick them up - we can analyse, maybe even use them later on. I will get these for now, and tell you later what those are."
With that, elf reaches to pick up scrolls and wand from the sorceress.
Archmoon Saevan |
Archmoon followed Thosars advice and picked up all the remaining vials.
He then stares at the fallen halfling and addresses Thosar:
"This is the halfing from earlier, that was following us, is it not wizard?"
Archmoon was in some pain from the rogue's dagger attack, and that was evident - he would frequently put his hand over the wound, but did his best to hide such pain.
"My only regret is that the sneaky one that attacked me from the roof escaped. I hope some day I'll bump into him.. if luck is on my side.. before the end of his short life."
Elindriel Firesong |
Elindriel does her best to put the guards at ease, but realizes she doesn't have much time, and if the guards take them to their station, the group will miss their deadline.
"Our apologies. We are pathfinders, and we have been followed all day by the halfling - Ledford, you said? These few and one more were laying in wait for us here in the alley. You can see that we have done what we can to prevent their deaths, so they can be brought to justice. We were only seeking to defend ourselves from these villains - if we hadn't, we would be dead by now."
"Thank you, sir, for your assistance in dealing with them. If there is any other information we can give you, please let us know. Otherwise, we really must be going..."
GM Aarvid |
"Ok, if the four of you are Pathfinders, I will dismiss you based on Valsin's trust in you. He has done some favors for us in the past. Glad the four of you were not seriously hurt. Although, you might want to stop at a temple...some of those wounds look deep." He looks at Dahr and Archmoon with the last comment.
"Ok, men. Bind up these other four up and haul them off to the main station. We can heal them up there and question them behind bars. I will put out an alert that there is one more that escaped."
With that, the sargent waves you on and then has his guards load the two injured ladies, Eli and the halfling onto a waiting prisoner's wagon.
To the crowd gathered around...
"Ok, folks, nothing to see here. We have four prisoners that will be tried and convicted of their attack on these Pathfinders. Everything is safe, go back about your business."
So do the four of you head back to the main Lodge?
Thosar Seltenmus |
Wait they loaded Eli as one of the suspects? Or simply because he was injured?
"Thank you sergeant. If you would be so kind to give us your name, we will make sure Venture Captain Valsin is aware of the assistance you have provided to us today." - Thosar bows slightly in front of the guards commander, before continuing.
"However, one of those people" - and he motions towards Eli - "is a fellow Pathfinder, who was hurt by these ruffians. He valiantly placed himself in front of the danger, so he could protect others. Would you be so kind to have him healed here, if possible? Also, this halfling fellow, what did you say his name was - Ledford? Is he connected to someone? What would he gain in assaulting us?"
Pursing his lips and placing an index finger bellow his chin Thosar thinks a bit, trying to recall if he had heard of Ledford or Deandre.
Knowledge/Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
After the guards are gone, Thosar will try to concentrate on understanding the content of the vials, scrolls and the wand.
GM Aarvid |
"What's that? He is with you? Men unlock and release him."
To the medic...
"Give him a tap. "
clw : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Eli regains consciousness...wondering what happened and when the guards arrived. :-)
"Ok then...get back safely. I have to get these 3 down for questioning. Probably petty theft was their only motive...or to make a name for themselves. Well, that did not work out as planned. Good luck Pathfinders. "
GM Aarvid |
You make it back to the Lodge without incident at the end of the day,
Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin meets with you.
"Ah very good. I see you survived the day...or well most of you. What happened to the spunky Halfling? No matter. The society thanks you for your service today. I and assure you that not every mission for the Pathfinder Society involves running errands about Absalom. I congratulate you on proving your teamwork, skill and responsibility, and I promise a new assignment in the near future to take you beyond Absalom’s unassailable walls if you are interested. We can talk about it over a drink...First round is on me!"
GM Aarvid |
Thosar...not much more was known about the thugs. They identified the leader, Deandre as a follower of Norgorber. That is about all besides Ledford.
Potion shield of faith, 4 potions of clw, scrolls of burning hands, shield, unseen servant, wand disguise self, some daggers, tin with mustache wax, small bottle of whiskey.
You are able to sell the loot for 129gp
So combining all loot including rewards etc, each person receives 401gp on their chronicle. I should have those out this week. Session has been reported.
