GM Aarvid - PFS #4-05: The Sanos Abduction - A (Inactive)

I am starting recruitment for running a Pathfinder Society adventure, PFS #4-05: The Sanos Abduction. Tiers 3-4 or 6-7.

This will be an open recruitment accepting a table of four to five players ( I have 1-2 already on the list)..

If you have played other PFS scenarios, then it is the same but running as play-by-post rules. This adventure will lock in a new character for about 8 weeks if posting daily. Pre-generated PFS characters are also acceptable.

However, for players not familiar with PFS or posting here, I'll post a few guidelines.

• You need a legal PFS (Pathfinder Society) character. PFS information is here.

• Post your legal character. (Paizo People --> Aliases).

  Here is
  Fendahl Silvermane for example.

• Be able to post about 1-2 times per day for 7-9 weeks

• I do not require your previous Chronicle Sheets. I assume you will be honest with me and your fellow players. If a question of an item or race comes up, I may ask to know where and how you got said item.

• Maps will be posted through google docs. Please make sure you can access this service if you sign up.

I'm interested but have questions. I'm still new-ish to PFS and need some clarification on levels. I have one free PFS character who is level one - too low for this I think. Can I make a new character at a higher level, or does PFS require a character be brought up from level one through PFS scenarios?

I would like to play a pregen if possible. I'll pick one after we see what else people are playing.

I too only have a lvl 1 free. Gunslinger. But tier 3 is a bit high.

PFS provides pre-generated characters that are legal to play (1st , 4th , 7th level)

Pre-gens

There are rules in the PFS guide on how you can apply the chronicle to a first level or other character after you complete the adventure.

Hey Aarvid, I have a 2nd level Fighter (Archer) that I could run in this if you think he would be able to handle the tier 3-4.

August, if you can get him to 3rd, you could play him. You cannot play out of tier on PFS mods.

With the release of the new PFS rules taking effect this weekend, once we have a table, I will have to read to see where we fall tier-wise and how to calculate gold etc.

Likewise, Eldanar, have you selected your new faction yet since Shadow has retired?

My occupation is currently homemaker so I am online during most of the day. I will however be traveling Tuesday-Thursday this coming week and only be able to post first thing in the morning and in the evening.

As a note I have GMed the Sanos Abduction once when it was new but I have not yet had a chance to play it. If that's at all a problem for you, please just let me know and I'll withdraw my application.

I do have a lvl 4 Paladin I created for a game but wasn't picked, rules were twenty point buy and 6000 starting gold. Is he acceptable?

@Shore, you would have to be a PFS legal character. Check out the Org Play rules.

Estelle: Time difference makes little difference, the message board is always here, and as long as you post at least a few times within each 24 hour period, the game will keep moving on pretty steadily. It's normal in PBP, from what I've seen, for each round of combat to take between half a day to a day, if not longer.

As for dice rolling, under the post box, where it says "How to format your text" click "show" and the message board markup will display. Use the DICE tag as it shows you and it will roll for you. Once useful thing with PbP is you can preview your dice rolls and see how they will come out, and then post a roleplayed reaction to what happened.

E.G.

Attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 A hit! a very palpable hit!

@GM Arvid: If we get more than 6 people, and people who posted later than me are wanting to play actual characters, as opposed to pregens, I'll bow out.

Speaking of pregens, I thought the only pregens allowed were Fighter, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard -- has that changed?

I also thought the pregens were limited to the 4 core and 3 APG classes, but I checked and they added all the core classes as available....so nice.

Would have to do that before the game.
This char is through Crypt of the everflame and Snows of Summer, but it can´t be reported somehow at the moment.

Just running a test to see how it works
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 132d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 6) + 10 = 20

Cool :) Dunno if I hit but I hit hard

can't play with wreck in this game, but since we have a hitting contest...

Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage Roll: 1d12 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24

I'm going to be driving across the country Tuesday-Thursday. I should have internet access in the morning and evening, but will not be on all day as is common.

It looks like we have enough to start. I decided on this line-up, giving preference to characters over pre-gens. Tier = 25/6 = 4.17

Lavode's data is all in the alias. The plain text output from HeroLabs is kinda odd. So if something doesn't make sense to you, just let me know. I will be happy to provide details.

The only thing still in progress in the alias is the details on what scenarios he has already run. But that doesn't really make any difference to this one.

Due to popular demand, I am going to try to muster a 2nd table of Sanos Abduction...so I am recruiting for a few more spots on table "B" if anyone is interested.

I am starting with preference for alternates from the first table first.
