Lys grins at Arlan, seeing his reaction to finally being close to his enemy. "We all got an ugly thing protecting, us, Arlan! But ours has a better personality!", she shouts as she sees him climb. "When you're ready, give me a hand!", she shouts as she runs next to the ledge with Arlan and sheathes her crossbow.

Wonder if it's possible for our very own personal Mr. Hyde to pull us up one by one? Lys would volunteer to be first. If not, she'll run around, or through the smoke, to go around. I managed to go on roll20, but I can't remember what the blue jagged lines are? At any rate, one or the other.

Brief Summary Round 16

Mohs pulls out a scroll of Create Pit and follows the crew making better time avoiding the mist.

The troll howls and wildly attacks Arlan. Fortunately, the claws don't land a hit.

Nerak now had a clear view of the troll and his rage was not quelled at all. He quickly took into account his comrades and the proper measurements. No matter how furious he was, he would not harm his own if he could help it. It was a gamble but even Nethys could appreciate destruction when caught in the right mood. He uses his most prized scroll he withdrew earlier and chants the words that would manifest his fury.

Fireball: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 4, 1, 5) = 21

A tiny red orb appears on the tip of his finger which his points at the spot of his mental measurements. The little red dot streaks to the location and the world turns to fire in the blink of an eye. Consuming all as it explodes.

"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR PISSING OFF A WIZARD, YOU BLACKENED B**CH."

With that and his suddenly exposed person, he turns tail and flees behind the mist. If anything was left his comrades could deal with it for the moment. His spirits were lifted at the repaid debt.

I tried using the circle shape but it would not come out to the right radius, so I free handed it. Please excuse my lack of drawing ability. x)

Arlan smiles devilishly and sniffs the air as his foes' flesh burns in an instant.

Nice knife, he says to the alchemist. Need me to cut your meat with that, now that it's cooked?

The soldier begins to circle around, hammering at the troll furiously and screaming in its face.

5 ft step--note, I'm moving after the fireball. It now looks like I'm in the AoE. ;-)

All the dice rolls:

First flurry, power attack, fighting defensively: 1d20 + 8 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 2 - 1 = 22

Nonlethal Damage, PA: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9

Intimidate free action from Enforcer: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

If that succeeds the troll is shaken for 9 rounds and I will use lethal damage for my second flurry. If that fails I'll use nonlethal for my second attack and try to intimidate again.

Second flurry, power attack, fighting defensively: 1d20 + 8 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 2 - 1 = 17

Nonlethal Damage, PA: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 = 10

Intimidate free action from Enforcer (retry penalty): 1d20 + 13 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 13 - 5 = 18

So that is either 9 nonlethal and 10 lethal with the troll being shaken for 9 rounds, or 19 nonlethal (and potentially shaken for 10 rounds).

In this case, the bomber faces certain death if he leaves, while there's a small chance he might survive you. And, he is absolutely the last combat for the book, so you are almost done. Cheers.

It's all good--I don't mind that he's behaving appropriately. It'll be that much more satisfying when he's caught. Don't forget hero points, guys. I would've used mine and could've caught up to him, but I only have one left. If the opportunity presents itself, we could have Mohs double move 60 ft, then cast create pit with a hero point on him. Even if he doesn't fall in, we cut off his escape route.

I don't mind he's behaving appropriately either, it's just really boring as we have no way to catch up. If he didn't have expeditious retreat we could have chased him and have some chance while dealing with everything (Birds, trolls, wolves). As it stands it's kind of a slog (as it's move, move, for 2 rounds to the next 'set piece' as it were. That's happened for at least 7-8 rounds of this combat).

"Lorn towards the other entrance."

The scumbag was good at running but he was sure that the troll was his last and most potent ally. Otherwise he would not have run into a dead end. The only exit was indeed guarded by their people, the orckin would surrender or die. Personally he cared little for ether outcome.

Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Yay for Neutral Good... It did felt in character, though, and I'm going through with it.

H.hex:

Whether or not people go for the kill/knock out option Beltzer responds with after the fact.

"Та чин сэтгэлээсээ түүнтэй адил хуржээ АХХ ярьж болно гэж бодож байна уу? Би тэр болгоомжилж байх байсан ..." Beltzer shrugs wearily "Та бас townsfolk түүний хоолойд даяар зүгээр нэг налуу зураасаар -аас түүнд маш муу үхэл өгч чадахгүй гэж бодож байна уу?" Beltzer asks thinking of the kind of punishment that could ensue.

Orcish:

You honestly think that a crazed orc like him will talk? I'd be wary of that... Beltzer shrugs wearily "You also think that the townsfolk wouldn't give him a much worse death than just a slash across his throat?" Beltzer asks thinking of the kind of punishment that could ensue.

If it's Varin, then I've really messed this finale up. Varin in full plate definitely doesn't have the move to get to the bomber. Plus, I forgot to check if he has improved grapple to avoid the AOO. If we use the bomber's attack roll, he still gets another attack on whomever with his poisoned blade. Let's just say you've got the bomber alive and the combat is over. Continue to role play. Cheers

Yep, it was Varin, not me. I have just enough duration left on my mutagen to try an intimidate.

Speak our language, I don't know what the hell you're sayin'!

Arlan snaps at the others as he approaches the restrained orc. He sets his spear down and cracks his knuckles, then leans down inches away from the captive's face.

You fought tough, I'll grant ya. But you came to my home and threatened my family. You're gonna die for that. Whether you die with a blade in your hand and a chance to meet your gods proud, or screaming like a coward while I wring your neck is up to you. Why are you down here? What are you looking for? I won't ask again...

The last word lingers on his lips like a growl, sinister intent clear.

Varin stares with a confused expression on his face, as Lys and Bel speak at him in Orcish. When the Archer shoots the Orc in the knee he frowned but kept his mouth shut. He wasn't one for torture, not at all.

Lys, what are you readying for?

The half-orc bomber spits in reply to all the questions.
