simply M Draco Electricus Wannabeus Expert 1, Armchair Expert (PrC) 8,

What I need to start is for everyone to create an alias with their character. Then post here to let me know that is accomplished. There are several ways to set up your "sheet" & I dinnae really care which one you use. I would like to see links to non-CRB abilities if they are being used. I do not need to see chronicle sheets, unless it looks like you have something really strange. (at second level frex no-one should yet own a holy avenger. )

Two other things I would like to know is if there are regular days times when you will not be available. I am not usually posting on Sundays and Mondays (my days off) but will lurk during those days and can respond if needed. Also I need to know how to get a chronicle sheet to you, which probably means I need an address. Electronic or otherwise.

On format I would say use standard grammar, but the PBP have their own way of doing things.
"Bold and parenthesis" for things your characters is saying out loud.
italics for things your character is thinking.
No special formatting for things your characters is doing.
out of character for things you the player is thinking.
I will link to the maps when we need them, and assume your characters are making tactically sound moves.

I will make another post here once everyone has checked in. I want everyone to reply to it filling in the necessary blanks.

Any questions?

After you post, you can edit your post to roll a confirmation if you need. Note that the original roll ill not change, even if you go in and edit in other modifiers, or even erase it, change the roll, or delete it and roll again.

Silver Crusade

HP 59/59 , Init +2, AC: 21, T: 11, FF: 20, CMB: 19, F: +8, R: +3, W: +10 (constant Prot from Evil (+2), no Food or Water, Natuve Outsider) Perception +8 <Darkvision 60ft>, Channel: 4/6 used, 4d6, (DC 20 +12 vs Undead, +4 vs Evil Outsiders) NG Male Aasimar Cleric 8.2, Sunflare: +9/+4, 1d6+3 (18/x2) S

I will be able to post (usually) throughout most days. When I'm at work, I may or may not be able to look at pictures or maps, however.

Should I not be availible for play for a time, I would like my character to go defensive as much as possible, and then to basically Ready an Ation to Heal (channel) if someone gets seriously hurt (less than half HP and still a large threat). I would always like to reserve a Channel to blast Undead if possible, (and this really makes me wish there where a Teamwork feat we could take to boost Channel Energy to blast Undead in order. . .).

The only thing I can think off that is a little outside of normal is that I took an alternate Favored Class bonus for Aasimar Clerics (from Adv Race Guide) that lets me add 1/2 my level to damage vs Undead or Evil Outsiders when I channel Energy, combined with the Sun Domain, I have +1 & 1/2 level to Channel vs Undead, who also get no Channel Resistance. I'll link it when I can, as well as the spells and everything.

I'm here! I'm thinking, though, maybe that the rakshasa-bloodline isn't that good and I might be a liability to the party. I'm just looking at the feats and it just doesn't seem to be very good. I have rebuilt my character but I was wondering if I could switch to the arcane-bloodline. But the problem is the GM referenced my lineage in the last game and it would be hard to explain how I suddenly got a familiar. What do you all think?

Silver Crusade

HP 59/59 , Init +2, AC: 21, T: 11, FF: 20, CMB: 19, F: +8, R: +3, W: +10 (constant Prot from Evil (+2), no Food or Water, Natuve Outsider) Perception +8 <Darkvision 60ft>, Channel: 4/6 used, 4d6, (DC 20 +12 vs Undead, +4 vs Evil Outsiders) NG Male Aasimar Cleric 8.2, Sunflare: +9/+4, 1d6+3 (18/x2) S

It's not an issue. With the new rebuild rules you can change any and every aspect of your character except the PFS Number. Abilities, Class, Race, Feats, Skills, Class Features, etc. . .

simply M Draco Electricus Wannabeus Expert 1, Armchair Expert (PrC) 8,

Rakshasha bloodline is fine especially if that is how you want to play Aram. It seems to fit the character well. If you try match to the adventure or group every time, you will struggle with organized play. It changes for every scenerio. The basic rule is play what YOU want to play. :) If it helps, think of yourself as a Pathfinder first, a half-orc second, a sorcerer third and fit in the bloodline wherever you want. I will do my best to make whatever YOU want to play the most enjoyable. (& your description still matches the arcane from last adventure).

One advantage to PBP is that I do not have to come up with things on the fly. So I will try and work a bit of everyone's back-story in, especially when they work it in (consider it a reward for RPing). I could not do that at a table when every session has a new set of characters.

Cool this is the sort of thing I need called out. FWIW I dinnae own a Ultimate Combat or Ultimate Equipment. I am dependent on y'all to call those things out. It will help me a bit too if you can list where your traits are from, since those are not on the PRD (or if they are show me where :)

Your right. I really think the rakshasa bloodline fits him well too. It's just I'm afraid that choosing something that's less then optimal would make me a liability to the party. Like the guy I heard of that wants to be a Mystic Theurge and ends up holding the party back. But I really like what I've worked out for Aram: a kindly half-orc unaware of his dark lineage who is bewildered by his urges for wealth and luxury items. I'm just going to play him the best I know how :)

Sorceres are already very powerful on their own before the Bloodline. I wouldnt worry about it too much honestly. Especially once you hit level 4+ you are kind of golden thereafter. Levels 1-3 are difficult for everyone but castera kind of get it the worst.

Thanks Zaryn, I won't! But anyway, how did you and the others put your statistics after your names?

Silver Crusade

{HP21/21 | AC 18 FF17 T11 CMD 16 | F/R/W 5/3/8} Male

List them under the Gender tab on your character sheet.

Silver Crusade

HP 59/59 , Init +2, AC: 21, T: 11, FF: 20, CMB: 19, F: +8, R: +3, W: +10 (constant Prot from Evil (+2), no Food or Water, Natuve Outsider) Perception +8 <Darkvision 60ft>, Channel: 4/6 used, 4d6, (DC 20 +12 vs Undead, +4 vs Evil Outsiders) NG Male Aasimar Cleric 8.2, Sunflare: +9/+4, 1d6+3 (18/x2) S

I put HP, Init, AC and CMD unnder the race section, then Saves, perception and other info under class, and then race and class at the very end. The sections right after Character's full name. It just helps to push the game along, especially if we are waiting on someone in combat, or the DM can just "roll secretly" for things without needing to click on each character.

Silver Crusade

HP 59/59 , Init +2, AC: 21, T: 11, FF: 20, CMB: 19, F: +8, R: +3, W: +10 (constant Prot from Evil (+2), no Food or Water, Natuve Outsider) Perception +8 <Darkvision 60ft>, Channel: 4/6 used, 4d6, (DC 20 +12 vs Undead, +4 vs Evil Outsiders) NG Male Aasimar Cleric 8.2, Sunflare: +9/+4, 1d6+3 (18/x2) S

Copy and paste this to Race -

"HP 8/8, [ooc]Init +5[ooc], AC: 12, T: 12, FF: 10,"

And this to Class -
"[ooc]F: +3, R: +3, W: +3[ooc] Perception -1 <Darkvission 60ft>, [ooc]CMD: 10[ooc], Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1"

Remember to add the / in the second [ooc]'s to make them appear blue, which just helps stats to stand out.

Please make a handful of rolls for my by replying to this thread. These are rolls for reactionary things. I do not want the game to stall if someone needs to respond to something and is not immediately available. I will take these rolls in the order you roll them, & will ask for another one when I use this one, just so we always have one in the bank. Change the X and add the closing bracket, but please include any special modifiers (darkvision, bonus vs spells etc.)

AoO occur with whatever weapon you are holding when someone does something in a space that you 'threaten'. As a spellcaster I am guessing the staff will be in your hand most time (primary), the dagger most likely sheathed (secondary), but might be in your hand for some strange reason. In your case a threatened square is anything within five feet of you. Since AoO is an immediate action, it happens on someone else's turn, & I do not want to stop combat for a reaction action. AoO uses your BAB, + strength modifier, + 1d20. For Aram (sorcerer 1, with 7 strength) it is a 1d20-2. This is the same thing you will roll when melee attacking with either weapon.

Attack of Opportunity (primary weapon): 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8

Okay, but my secondary weapon is a light crossbow. Does that change the formula?

You do not threaten a square with a ranged weapon, so what you have given me is enough. Thanks!

I'm still confused about skill checks. I want to roll for diplomacy and knowledge(local), but how do I add up modifiers? My skill for these are:

Diplomacy: bonus +4 CHA modifier +4

Knowledge(local): INT modifier +1

Also, if I wanted to make an Knowledge(arcana) check, how do I add up these bonuses?

Knowldged(arcana): bonus +5 Trained +3 INT modifier +1

Male Dwarf Druid 6 - Init +5 - HP: 49/63, - AC: 24/T: 14/FF: 21 18/13/16- Perception: +8 <Darkvision 60ft> F: +9(11)/R: +6(8)/W: +9(11) - CMB: +7 - CMD: 20 <+4 vs trip & bull rush>, Speed: 20ft

You add up skills like this:
Ranks (however many skill points you've put in that skill to date)
plus
Ability Mod (if it's a knowledge check and your INT mod is +1, then +1)
plus
Class Skills (if you have it as a class skill, the first time you put a rank in it, add +3)
plus
Other (sometimes your race or class will give you a modifier, like say, +2 to perception)

The total of these is added to a standard d20 roll for a skill check.
Does that make sense?

Okay, for those three checks, it'd go like this?

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Knowledge(arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Well... no. You don't have any ranks in Diplomacy, so unless I'm missing some other large modifier, you'd have (0 + 4 + 0 + 0 = 4) for your diplomacy, using the system I mentioned above.
Likewise, with Knowledge(arcana), you appear to have (1 + 1 + 3 + 0), or a +5 mod to that skill check. But you instead put 9. I'm not sure what math you're using, but it's not what I said to do.

Okay, I see what I did wrong. On my character sheet it was written the total amount of my bonuses, but I was adding up that total while adding up the modifiers. So it would be like this:

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Knowledge(arcana) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Aye that looks right. :)
Using skills
and since you made the knowledge local it is up to you if you want to share the information in the spoiler. (unless it is a secret faction mission, you should share it in PFS. I will let you play it as you want.
