"Kit and the Bard" is a great name for a traveling road show, but I think Lorne would take issue with getting second billing to anybody.

That said, Lorne's got plenty of reasons to have worked with any and all of the gang before. Kit'Arr seems to be a perfect infiltrator, the exact sort of person Lorne would see as an ideal "agent" in his somewhat-less-than-legal expeditions into ancient ruins. Aella's skills would prove useful alongside any adventurer (though, to Lorne's calculation, not nearly as useful- or amusing- as her naivete), and old tombs and weird ruins are frequently occupied by the sort of aberrations she so despises. We're traveling along the coast (and Lorne's hoping for a good chance to spelunk some old Azlanti ruins), where the skills of a water-specialist wizard like "Harry" would certainly come in handy. I'm thinking Lorne's worked with the lot of you before in some capacity, or at least knows you through reputation (just as most of you would likely have heard that Lorne's something of a snake in the grass).

Maybe we've formed up an expedition to investigate some ruins somewhere up the coast or something. Zed may have insight into this. *Looks hopefully in the GM's direction*

I think Lorne is on the right track here. Though Harry primarily works for the Chelish Navy, I could see him doing some 'freelance' work on the side. Plus, as he is a dwarf he would get lonely for the feel of solid ground under his feet for a while. An expedition to check out some ruins seems perfect, especially if they are old dwarvish ruins. Harry would definitely be interested in checking those out!

My understanding with Background Skills is that you get 2 per level. Most people keep putting those 2 into the same skills from first level onward, but as a bard with diverse talents, I chose quite a few for Lorne as he leveled up to reflect his diverse interests. Hope I didn't do it wrong; I'm still fairly new to the whole subsystem, though it's one I consider brilliant.

Looking good with how you folks are setting up the group... I'll read through my funky new Cheliax book and see of there's anything 'round these parts that you could be investigating prior to the adventure...

Hmmm, I'm kind of liking this idea although, to ensure the backstory doesn't derail the adventure itself, how about the bad folks have already been caught and are being taken back aong the coast to face justice?

If you guys are cool with that, chat around whose been caught (and for what)... sort out any final bits in your character sheets and we'll get this show on the road...

Fun idea. We'll need to keep an open mind to trusting one another, of course- in order to preserve the cooperative nature of gameplay. I wouldn't want us to get bogged down for days over whether or not to let the prisoners help with anything.

Lorne is, obviously,the cutest person in any group, ever. At least by his own standards.

I do like the prisoner idea here. Perhaps Harry was hired by Kit'Arr to help her take part in her nefarious scheme? Harry would certainly do such despite his lawful nature and he would definitely be brought in for questioning by the Cheliax authorities.

Or if the thought of working with a dwarf is distasteful for Kit, then he will be part of the good guys then ;)

I'm thinking Lorne, Kit and Harry maybe got themselves in deep - probably stole something from someone from whom it was a bad idea to steal - went on the run and Aella / Marcus finally caught up with them down the Hellmouth Gulf...

...how does Robert fit into this sorry story?

...I will put the flesh on the bones once you've outlined from whom something was stolen - noble? politicians? the Church of Asmodeus? Merchants? ...and what was it that got lifted?

Totally endorse what Lorne says though... When the chips are down, you'll need to be working together... without there being a week long debate about it...

At the risk of over stepping my bounds Harry has a lawful alignment. Might be best to stick him with the law unless he changes his alignment or was dooped/ framed.

I updated my background skills, but looking at my skills something seems wrong. The skills on the profile should reflect all ranks and bonuses (from stats and class skills), correct?


First gameplay post is up!!! I've gone with Aella, Marcus and Robert bringing Harry, Lorne and Kit'Arr back to Pezzack to answer for some crime or other... If you want to work the exact nature of their misdemeanours it into your gameplay posts, feel free...
