(During the boarding of the ship)

Iason apparently comes with a +1, which the others in the group first see when they board the ship: a hulking figure that stands a few feet back from the Chelish man's shoulder, carrying Iason's luggage for him, as well as a live, bleating, unhappy goat under one arm. The man (?) is wearing a heavy cloak with a hood drawn over his face, but this only partially obscures broad shoulders and powerful limbs. In the shadowed depths of the hood, two pinpricks of light glow like red coals, with a third glow above those: a complicated, twisting glyph.

"My bodyguard and porter," Iason says off-hand at any inquiring looks. "He is named Etrigan. Ignore him."

Oddly, given the close quarters of shipboard life, neither the goat nor Etrigan are seen again during the two weeks of travel.

(Anybody who has any experience of summoners or any ranks in Kn: Arcana would no doubt be fully aware that Etrigan is an eidolon. The whole 'glowing rune' business usually gives it away. Even if not, it is fairly obvious that the 'bodyguard' is not human.)

2.5 weeks later...

Despite the 'debates' of the first meeting, Iason has been reasonably good shipboard company. Like all Pathfinders, he has seen a good deal in his time as an agent, and over dinner in the mess, he tells of a visit to the Blakros Museum, of staffs that shot fire yet used no magic, and of terrifying liquid metal that can crawl inside a man's body and take over his will. Another story, drily related, is of an early mission for the Society-- a wearying night-time march through the woods following the guidance of a magical sword... as well as a dozen other stories. In turn, he asks what sorts of things his fellow agents have seen-- even taking a few notes here and there.

He speaks here and there of Cheliax, as they approach Chelish waters, but when they pass the first Chelish navy galley patrolling the edges of the territory, Iason stands at shipboard railing, watching it go by in a silence similar to some of the sailors.

Sense motive DC 22:
You get the sense that despite his smooth words of loyalty to Thrune, Iason is less than entirely thrilled to be back in his 'home' country either.

(Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22)

When the cry splits the fog, Iason's head snaps up, his gaze scanning over the fog-shrouded black waters. "Did you hear that? Where...?"

(Sorry, just clarifying: where exactly are we, in relationship to this fisherman? Still on our own ship? On the path on the cliffs? Somewhere else? Assuming we can see the fisherman-and-crab, how far away is that?)

On board

Eshshah does her best to avoid going stir crazy on the somewhat cramped voyage. She spends her time dueling Clandelve or Kiyomi if they're up for it.

Eshshah is however a very frustrating dueling opponent, her attacks always seem to come either too fast or too slow. She's clearly not exceptionally skilled compared to her companions it's just hard to get into a nice rhythm, Eshshah's timing is frequently weird...

I share Iason's questions as to our current situation.

Adjacent to your position along the path is a 30-foot-wide stretch of sandy beach that breaks up into a 20-foot-wide zone of hazardous rocks bashed by the pounding surf dense rubble. Also, Etrigan is usually buffed with mage armor if he is present, since it lasts 6 hours.

Out in the surf, the yellow-skinned monster advances on the crab with a ferocious grin. Iason glances that way a moment, debating recalling his servant, then shrugs. A crab is far from the most objectionable thing his servant could be venting his penchant for violence-- or taste for raw flesh-- upon...

(GM: Etrigan intends to fight, kill, and eat the crab. I mostly mean this as flavor goofiness and I don't want to slow the game down with the need to run a combat for it, so, if you're okay with this being a "thing going on in the background" that's fine, and if not, then I'll just say that Iason orders Etrigan back to shore.)

Etrigan grins toothily down at the little fox, and waves the crab claw at her, before discarding it into the surf and making a dripping way back to Iason's side. The now-sodden hood of the cloak is replaced over his inhuman visage, but does not conceal the eyes now glowing like coals. (Or the stink of raw crab.)

"I don't know exactly, but I think because of some Azlant research. This village is cursed, I'm telling you. You look like you are used to it, but I am not. I will return to my home village for the next few days. You find Gerlach's home directly in Blackcove. The island of Nal-Kashel is not hard to find, it's the one with the ruins. When the sea is calm you can easily reach it with a rowing boat."

Adler provides directions to Blackcove, explaining that it is hard to find from this road — the locals don’t like strangers. The village lies about 5 hours north of this location.

The man thanks you once again and abandons you to return to his home village.

So the man did not care that much for his wife after all. Not enough to risk his life anyway. Mollok thinks with some sadness watching the fisherman leave. He pats his monkey and resumes his walk to Blackcove. The pet tries to bite his fingers but gives up on it after the second trie.

Clandelve watches as the man leaves.

"Sounds like our destination'll be Blackcove, then. We best start walkin'," he suggests.

Isn't that what I said awhile ago...

Eshshah nods to Clandelve and heads off towards Blackcove.

@Mollok: that's exactly the same what I thought when I read the module the first time

You follow the coast road for about 5 hours until you finally reach your destination. With Adler's directions you have no problem to find the village.

Hidden from the coastal road by overhanging cliffs, the battered homes and hovels of this ramshackle fishing village cling precariously to the coastline, tightly nestled among the rocky crags. The tall, worn, stone tower of a lighthouse perches on a natural jetty that intrudes rudely into the surf, breaking the waves at awkward angles. Old boats tug gently against several rough wooden piers as hard rain pelts the coastline.

The village of Blackcove is small and isolated, nestled among the cliffs and crags of the Hellmouth Gulf and protected, for the most part, from both outside intrusion and government interference. Due to its position far below the road, many travelers pass by without noticing the sheltered village below.

When you arrive in Blackcove in the late afternoon, the village proper is almost totally abandoned. Many villagers are out in their boats.

Kiyomi pads along, sniffing constantly for dangers and watching the buildings of the village with interest. If scent is ever specifically useful, Kiyomi constantly has the ability.
