Leekoo |
"Leekoo Weekoo spot a boat! Leekoo Weekoo see it float!" Leekoo yelled out in excitement. Maybe he could blow it up!
Payn |
Payn is too busy wondering if she could get away with cutting into someone else tonight to care about whatever nonsense the goblin is shouting about.
Lukasz Alazario |
Seeing the boat in the distance, Lukasz grabs the nearest crew member and says, "Get the captain. A boat approaches from Daveryn." To his associates he says, "Shall we see if we can stay under the radar? The less of a ruckus we can cause, the better it will be for our mission I wager." With that, the features of his face shift to an older, stern face one would expect from an army commander. The emblem on his helm shifting to match the Talirean military symbol 'embossed' on his disguised armor. He keeps the forged documents close at hand and ensures that his holy symbol is tucked under his armor.
Disguise: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
I am assuming the disguising power of the iron circlet acts like a disguise self, so included the +10 to disguise that comes with it in my roll. Subtract 10 from the final roll if that is not the case.
Dexter Quigley |
Dexter sits on the deck staring at the hoods he has packed away, frustration mounting on working with the materials for so long and having nothing to show for it. Am I the fraud they said I was? No it cannot be, I simply need more time to perfect my craft. Goddamn boat it could not be a wagon where I could still work it has to be a Godforsaken boat!
As the ship approaches Dexter dons the circlet to make himself a shorter man with more hair. He also places the holy symbol of Mitra around his neck, the one taken from Sir Balin.
Disguise1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
He stays in the background, it is not his place to speak but the place of the Captain.
The Indescribable |
“The Blade of St. Martius” is smaller than the Frosthamar, a single masted fully-rigged pinnace only thirty feet long. The captain shouts out. Heave to in the name of the king!
The men comply as Kargeld moves towards Lukasz. Time for you to earn your keep, hands on your weapons. If they look at our cargo they'll know we're smuggling.
Payn |
As the captain calls for a fight, Payn looks out over the open water with an open smile. It is the smile of a young child placed before a large table burdened with all manner and variety of sweets. She looks at each man on the Blade of St. Martius as a young girl would look at a peppermint poff or a fluffy cherry sweetcake. She looks at all of the sailors, one and all, as if she must pick one, but can not, for she loves each and every one.
Within a minute of the ship coming along side, she drawns upon dark powers and fortifies herself for the coming celebration of blood.
Shield. Bulls strength.
Then she draws blade and kneels down. "Oh most generous dark lord, we give you thanks for the copious bounty thee hath placed before us this d--"
Then Kargeld, coward that he is, says words that indicate that they'll let them come on board. She stands and sheaths her sword, throwing up her arms in quiet frustration.
She takes a place behind Lukasz and tries to look like a menacing swordswoman guard under pay.
She hopes she's giving the desired effect.
Lukasz Alazario |
Whispering, Lukasz says, "Then we will ensure that they don't Captain. Hold back but be ready should this go south," As the ship drew up, Lukasz stood guised as the military commander persona he had put together. Standing tall at the railing on the side the ship approached from, he called back, feigning the pomp and confidence he had heard military commanders use in the past "Approach. But know that you will not board until I know who proclaims to speak with the King's authority." Lukasz makes sure to stand so that his military helm and symbol of rank are clearly visible.
Lukasz Alazario |
Keeping the stance of a man use to being listened to, he calls back, "Well I am Major Janis Held of His Highness' Army, and my orders are from the King himself. Those aboard have been hired or requested to assist with the King's business to the North. Now let us continue on our way, Captain or realize that you work against King and Lord by detaining us." He purposely give no more information than he needs to and stands resolutely after giving his order.

Allyson "Allister" Zoren |
Allyson waits on baited breath until the ship is out of view before finally letting her disguise slip.
"I have to admit, I am impressed. I expected that to go far worse. Well done."
Leekoo |
Tucking explosive supplies back into various pockets, Leekoo looked around sadly. Still no booms! Walking up to the holy man, Leekoo asked, "Leekoo Weekoo not make boom? Leekoo Weekoo feeling gloom."
Lukasz Alazario |
Gaze fixed on the ship as it moved out of view, Lukasz's face shifts back to his own as it does. "Better than those who were promoted above me. I hope to be able to use these skills against them in the near future. I appreciate the praise, but let us hope we can make the rest of this journey unmolested."
At Leekoo's outburst, Lukasz grinned calmly before responding, "Worry not little one. I have a feeling that there will be time and room enough for your 'booms' in our dear Master's plans."
With that run-in now past, Lukasz attempts to get comfortable as the ship continues on its journey.
Dexter Quigley |
"I don't think Payn shares your sentiments Lukasz, well about the unmolested part anyway. I wonder, are your skills going to be useful with the "allies" we will soon meet. Should the Goblin be a better face amongst monsters?"
Leekoo |
Without looking it up, I believe that bugbears, being one of the goblinoid races -- goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears -- they tend to enslave and eat my kind.
Lukasz Alazario |
"We shall see. I can speak their tongue if need be, but let's just hope this Fireaxe is wiser than I have heard most of their kind are. If not, then we will simply have to demonstrate why the Cardinal put us in charge of this task," Lukasz spoke confidently with a grin at the end, hinting that he was not above using might and intimidation, if need be.
Payn |
Sry, was at a conference the past two days.
Payn waits until the boat has sailed out of easy eyesight, then sinks down and collapses, consumed with grief that she shall not slay any of the fine, upstanding young men on yon boat. "Concurrence, Master Dex. Do not shurk combat so dearly, dear sweet Lukasz, that we find ourselves back in chains with steel undrawn!"
In time she slinks off and spends the rest of the trip sulking on a pile of ships-rope.

Hearing the sounds of splashing water, Allyson's eyes flutter open and she kicks up onto her feet, moving to the edge of the deck peering into the darkness. "Who the hell was on watch. What's happening?"
Move to stand. Move to edge of deck.
Leekoo |
At the sounds if splashing and yelling, Leekoo opened his eyes widely and sat up, looking around wildly. Hearing the wings of She as she landed next to him, he grinned and jumped up before mounting onto his trusty steed. "Leekoo Weekoo make you dead! Leekoo Weekoo cook your head!"

Lukasz Alazario |
Startled at the commotion, Lukasz lookes up to see water moving up onto the deck of the small ship. Suddenly surrounded by water that moved on its own, Lukasz keeps and eye on the creatures around him. "Attacking a ship unawares? What honor do you have?" He calls out as he stands and incants a blessing onto his comrades.

Payn is slow to act, feeling no great bloodlust at slaying creatures that do not seem to even bleed normally.
She instead calls upon her newfound powers, and sends clawing tendrils of ephemeral mind-demons at the creature engaging Allyson. Slow darkness stalks it's ability to remain conscious, and sleep unnatural lays over it like a blanket that grows heavier and heavier.
