Cornelius spends his time making sure that the tents he set on fire don't remain on fire. He casts drench on them to make sure that any valuables, or valuable information doesn't go up in flames. He is ready to make a move once the situation better reveals itself.

FF 1-02

When the commotion begins, shouts emanate from the smaller tents to the south. Two guards emerge, then draw their longswords and ready their shields. "We're under attack!" Hol'Tos discovers a third guard in the larger tent, but his attack doesn't penetrate the man's armor. The guard draws his sword and takes a swing, but misses.

Inside the large orange tent, Enlil discovers a female aspis agent wearing light chain armor studying maps and paperwork. He catches her by surprise and his arrow strikes home. Tsadoc's stone also strikes true. Cursing, the woman whips up a hand crossbow and points it at the entrance, but doesn't fire--instead, she quickly downs some liquid in a small flask at her hip.

Cornelius discovers quite quickly that most of the tents are too damp to be set ablaze, but the orange tent must be covered in oil, for it alights at the slightest spark and begins to slowly burn. His drench spell stops the flames from spreading any further.

Daverin takes one final swing, but the guard deflects the blow and continues to flee. As the men vanish into the desert and the dust settles, the Pathfinders douse the last of the fires and ensure that no documents are in danger of being damaged or lost.

The woman that the Pathfinders knocked unconscious in the large tent is still alive, but without healing it will likely be a few hours before she awakens. Let me know if you want to interrogate her at all, or just turn her in.

Among the objects recovered from the camp are records of Prince Zinlo's involvement in the Consortium's scheme, including a detailed provenance of every resource he provided the Aspis agents (mainly information about the Emir's planned defenses). The note describes plans to send multiple decoy transports to confused would-be-thieves and to move some vials of the elixir "by other means entirely." The records also show that Prince Zinlo and the Aspis Consortium conducted extensive trades with each other at favorable rates.

Later, in a meeting with Ziralia, she conveys Guldis's gratitude for testing his convoy's defenses and tells you that your actions will help Pashow move toward economic recovery. She personally thanks you for disrupting a plot that would have bankrupted Pashow, and requests a detailed report of all the weaknesses you noticed in the convoy's defenses, as well as anything you found that might suggest that the Aspis Consortium was not the only threat.

That's actually a wrap! Post your report and/or some final RP, and interrogate your captive if you like. I'll get chronicles to you soon.

We will inform her of the halfling Varnic. I am not sure if he was related to the Aspis or not.

Weakness include: dancing lights signals (thinned the gaurds out too much), not enough guards inside the caravan (& that magical chest-thingy is dead). Decoy elixers might work, but not well (except the guards would have benefited from them). Scooby snacks. Poor screening/hiring process, the teachers should have been on the caravan. Some of the following will be a repeat from Mike the GM's last post.

The guards reveal that “Ivira’s boss” hired them help test the sun orchid elixir’s defenses. The only other information they know about the person who hired them are a pair of initials, K.A., from the bottom of the letter explaining their duties. Ivira may know more.

Intimidate DC (13):
Ivira would rather die than face the wrath of the gold agent of Aspenthar. She falls silent and refuses to elaborate.

"Thank you for disrupting a plot that would have bankrupted Pashow," says Lady Ziralia.

Recovering ledgers from the orange pavilion provides a detailed account of Prince Zinlo’s political maneuvering throughout Thuvia, both in public negotiations and black market dealings. Lady Gloriana thanks you for this information, which helps her identify Aspenthar’s allies and casts Zinlo’s ambitions in a negative light.

Ziralia sighs and admits that she feared Prince Zinlo's ambition would pull him down a dark path. She makes no promises about where her loyalties may lie should Thuvia descend into civil war. However, she tells the Pathfinders that she has always been an advocate for the sovereignty of independent city-states, and assures you that she will not forget what the Pathfinder Society did for her and the people of Pashow.
