FF 1-02

This thread is for discussion of the Freelance Forge community's PFS game: #7-21 The Sun Orchid Scheme, run by Mike Kimmel. This game is invitation-only.

Liberty's Edge

Male Sylph Rogue (unchained) 1; HP 9/9; AC 16 (t 14, ff 12), +2 AC vs. nonmagical ranged attacks; F +1, R +6, W +1, +2 vs. [air] or [electricity] effects, or electricity damage ; CMB +0, CMD 14; Init +6; Speed 35 ft.; Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft.

Dotting with my sylph rogue. If it looks like we need a different character I can switch before diving in too deep, but I know I won't be playing this character in a live game any time soon, so I'd like to use him.

This is CW, by the way ^_^

I will have my dwarf barbarian ready after work tomorrow.

Liberty's Edge

Oread, Saurian Shaman 7, hp66 AC 21 t: 11 f: 16 (+2 vs rays) ! CMD 20, F: 7 R: 3, W: 11

Dotting in.

What is everyone playing?
dwarven barbarian
Sylph rogue.

I have Wiem Weem Finyik is a grippli druid/magus
or oread saurian shaman 2.

Grand Lodge

Dotting...

Dwarven Ranger, Level 1, Ranged Ranger build with a distinct distaste for the undead vermin that should all be put back in the grave.

Bessie, my large crossbow agrees mightily!

Sovereign Court

Human Former naval officer 1; 11/11 hp; Init +7; AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16; CMD 14; Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +0 (+1 vs. fear); Perception +6

I'm playing a new human Pathfinder Society member.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Barbarian 1

My dwarf barbarian is ready.

Liberty's Edge

Oread, Saurian Shaman 7, hp66 AC 21 t: 11 f: 16 (+2 vs rays) ! CMD 20, F: 7 R: 3, W: 11

dwarven barbarian
sylph rogue
dwarven ranger
human officer (melee?)
oread saurian shaman

Melee seems to be covered :) I am going to stay with Sem. This fills the divine, but not arcane. (I am not worried about covering arcane.) If I have not done so already, I will purchase a wand of CLW. I still need to update his profile, but the basics are there & my hardcopy is up to date.

Just FYI, I'll be out of town Friday-Monday, with probably pretty limited posting ability (i.e. between minimal and none).

If anyone can point me to a PBP formatting guide, so I can learn about italics and stuff, it would be a great help thanks!

I'm trying my hardest, but this is my first ever PBP game >.<

And Enlil, how do you get all the really useful tag stuff to appear, my ranger toon only shows level, race and class?

No worries, everyone starts somewhere! Here's a handy guide to PbP stuff.

I get those tags by listing all the information under "Classes/Levels" on my PC profile.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

I'd also point you to Building a Better Doomed Hero: Painlord's Advanced Play-by-Post Play, another must-read, IMO.

Also, while I know the tag stuff is common (and I need to add it in to Daverin), I like using a spoiler'd set of stats. I know as a GM and player I find that very helpful, especially at higher levels where you can have a TON of modifiers that are hard to keep track of. See my post here as Sanders for an example.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 4, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 32

I love those guides! Thanks for sharing them, everyone. Saves me the trouble of going and finding them again. I should probably just link them in my GM alias profile or something.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

I believe both are stickied, so if you just click on the online campaigns link at the top of the messageboards, you'll get to them right away.

Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

Reading the whole thread is monotonous, just the first page should get you lots of good advice. Welcome to play by post. & Welcome to PFS for at least one of you :)

I have added the links to my GM alias, I usually add them to an early post in the discussion thread. :)

Mike, what information would you like in our race/class lines? What are your posting expectations?

Grand Lodge

I don't know what the internet will be like when I get to the hotel for Paizocon...

I shall try to keep up and be active, but if things go quiet from me between 25th May - 4th June, it's because hotel web sucks -or- I'm having a Paizocon / Seattle sightseeing blast! :P

FF 1-02

I think everyone has posted so I'll move things along!

As for posting expectations, ideally people can post every day, but I understand if that's not realistic for some folks. During PaizoCon especially we'll have to be lenient. If you have particular posting limitations (can't post on weekends, can only post every other day), just let us all know here. And if you'll be unable to post for a few days, let us know so that I can cover for you (or have another player cover for you).

If you could include information in your spoiler tags similar to what I've done for my character Thovar, that would be awesome.

Liberty's Edge

Oread, Saurian Shaman 7, hp66 AC 21 t: 11 f: 16 (+2 vs rays) ! CMD 20, F: 7 R: 3, W: 11

I think everyone else is on their first adventure for this particular character, but I will ask anyway: does anyone have any chronicles under their belt?

I have the research specialist boon on this character. :)

Liberty's Edge

Male Sylph Rogue (unchained) 1; HP 9/9; AC 16 (t 14, ff 12), +2 AC vs. nonmagical ranged attacks; F +1, R +6, W +1, +2 vs. [air] or [electricity] effects, or electricity damage ; CMB +0, CMD 14; Init +6; Speed 35 ft.; Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft.

First actual adventure for this toon, although he has the race boon and the bonus trait boon from 5-99.

Male Human (I think) Level 57 Dad

OK, I need to transfer more stuff onto my notes section and rearrange a few things, I will do this on Wednesday when I'm settled in the hotel and have the internet sorted.

Packing progresses, so I will catch up with the play thread this afternoon and post later tonight if I need to add anything.

FF 1-02

I'm in a meeting all day today. I'm going to try to post this morning/afternoon but it might not happen until the evening. Thanks for your patience! I should be able to post every day this week, and then it's PaizoCon this weekend so things might slow down a bit.

Silly me (Neal from Freelance Forge) got distracted by buying and selling houses and may have missed the proverbial boat for this one. If not though, Cornelius Darksmith the Dwarf Wizard 1 is ready to head into the fray. Either way excited to see how this thread/game progresses!

Jump right in! Still room.

FF 1-02

PaizoCon is underway for some people, so we'll go on official hiatus until next week. Feel free to post, but there's no expectation that we'll start up again until next Thursday. Hopefully by then we at least know what role everyone intends to fulfill in the pre-heist investigations.

To those of you at the con, I hope I'll see you Saturday! To everyone else... you're missing out. :)

Were the 2017 dates announced? I am much saddened they moved it to my anniversary weekend.

Any thoughts on edutainer fitting? No worries if not. :)

I will purchase a wand of CLW with 2 prestige and now a saddle-pack for Tiger 5 gp. I think I shall spend 20 gp on relevant desert gear as well.

FF 1-02

I created a Google Drive document to track your infiltration.

Here it is.

You should be able to edit the document.

I would appreciate if everyone placed their role and intended skills in the appropriate columns. Remember, using different skills each day is the most ideal strategy. Repeating the same skill makes your later checks more difficult. However, you can't change roles unless the narrative makes sense. (For example, maybe you sneak around on day 1 and then show up for work as a guard on day 2.)

We'll do 1 day at a time. If you're not sure what skill you're going to use after day 1, that's okay. Leave it blank.

I'll post an intro to day 1 for each location, and you can post your skill roll and narrate your actions. Then I'll post the results of your actions and introduce the next day.

Male Human (I think) Level 57 Dad

Okay, catching up with everything now I'm back safe in the UK - looks like I have to edit some info to that google doc - which I will do as soon as I get home from work to my character sheet! Now to read on where things are at game play wise ... >.<

I am traveling for work this week, may not be able to post much.

Thanks for letting us know. You already rolled for the infiltration so that'll keep you set for a day or two.

If we reach combat, can someone bot Hol'Tos?

Sorry for the delay. I had a meeting all day today and did not have my usual level of internet access. However, tomorrow I should be around all day and I think we can wrap up the infiltration by the weekend and get things moving along!

Is it summer break yet...? (Not quite. Next Friday!)

Hey guys - I am afraid I am having to drop out after all - life took a serious turn last night when I found out my mum has been taken terminally ill.

Needless to say, I cannot commit to anything now and so I don't want to get in the way of the game any more than I already have.

I hope you all understand. Sorry. Ant.

As has unfortunately been said too many times, family's more important than gaming. Obviously go take care of her, yourself and the rest of your family and we'll "see" you when things get better.

The weekend was busier than expected (writing deadline, family things) but I am now officially on summer break! Daily posting to commence.

So if I have the plan correctly, Daverin goes after the caster. Enlil goes for the elixir and the rest of us take care of the guards and dogs.

Anything seem wrong with that plan?
