The tunnel is sharply angled down, too steep for a average human to climb.
Looking down you can see that the bugmen used their acid guns to tunnel up through five sub-levels of the medical center. At the bottom lit by red emergency lights You can make out some moving shadows at the bottom and can hear faint cries for help.

Once the group starts heading down, Subject 114 changes into melee form and glides down. If gliding isn't feasible, he will wall-crawl (and can probably carry someone if they need it).

No smirks to herself as she continues walking despite the steep incline allowing her suit to do the work of keeping her stable. With the cowl switching to darkvision she keeps an eye open for any dangers

You notice as you descend the parts of the tunnel that intersects the first four sub=levels have been purposely blockaded from the inside, almost as if the bugmen didn't want people to accidentally fall into the tunnel. Making you wonder why they were grabbing people from the surface when they could have gotten them from the centers research labs.

@Liberteen - You jump down the hole and are probably expecting to land on a solid floor but instead you sink up to your waist in a reddish brown paste, kind of like un-cooked hamburger meat. In addition to the grossness of the situation the meat begins to envelop and compress around you.

The tunnel down leads to a large wide corridor covered with a squishy reddish-brown meat like substance. Liberteen's jump ends with her waist deep in the stuff and targeting lasers lighting up the haze.

Unexpected weekend plans kept me away from the internet til now

The corridor is about 10' tall (15' without the meat covering) and 10' wide. The walls are mostly clear of encrustation due to the four laser turrets that are now targeting you. A mechanical sounding voice is broadcast through the tunnel WARNING STERILIZATION PROCEDURES IN EFFECT: ALL UNAUTHORIZED BIO-SIGNATURES WILL BE TERMINATED! At least 5 people can be heard in the background screaming for help or just screaming. In a low frequency that is barely audible to humans a third voice speaks, Yes come to me you glorious ones. Come see the outcome of your cause, see the reaction to your existence. Become one with me or become my doom I welcome both as I welcome you.

The muck squeezes the breath out Liberteen dazing her.

Jo scowled as qutie suddenly the once quite inactive cave sprung to life as the girl plummeted down into some sort of paste like substance that made up the floor of the cave, luckily the majority of them appeared to have some means of avoiding the floor like the plague it was but as perhaps a means of mitigating this a voice began projecting itself throughout the cave, which then heralded the voices of what appeared tio be some of the innocents dragged down below and a strange low frequency voice whispered a rather disturbing welcome to them and of course to top it all off four turrets sprung to life and began taking aim on them.

"Lets get rid of these turrets before we find out how tough they are, Chris try and get her out of that stuff if you can." o shouted as she began running along the side of the wall looking to get behind the nearest turret keeping herself in a defensive position in order to prepare for her next plan of action.

Turret 1 fires a burst down the hallway trying to hit everyone except cat who is out of the firing arc of the multi-attack. bizarrely Liberteen gets the benefit of full cover from the paste trying to eat her.

Re-do, Capt. Cosmos also did not get hit. I thought your dodge was lower but you're a nimble little minx.

QNetic manages to pull of the armor shell of turret 3 but it is still operational.

Chris puts a huge dent in the armor casing of Turret 1 and totally demolishes Turret 2. A shower of sparks from the destroyed turret erratically light up the tunnel. The low frequency voice speaks again, Destroy the metal minds, free me from their logic, free me so the mass can bring oneness to the world. Come to me, free me from the mass, kill me and save the world...heeheeheeheehahee...ARAGG!....

Scowling over the strange voice Jo begins working on taking down her turret searching for somewhere to gain access to whatever powers the turret and them promptly beginning to remove anything and everything that appears to provide the turret with the ability to function normally.

Mucking with the Turret, Technology: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26


Cat deftly bypasses Turret 1's armor and disconnects from it's power source. Turret 1 impotently targets the others but can do nothing else.

QNetic telepathically rips apart the last turret. As he does the mechanical voiced warning abruptly falls silent.

The low voice once again speaks; "Yes my saviors, my doom, you freed me of the machine now free me from existence. Learn my horrid truth, learn...

The humans screaming get more frantic with that last pronouncement.

Liberteen rushes forward, following the sound of the human screams.


Liberteen you round the corner and get a view of the lab, the source of the low voice is a 6 foot bloated head with large cables fused into it's skull. The screams come from about 5 homeless looking people in the cells. 3 suits of empty bugman armor hang from hooks attached to the ceiling. On the far lab table is a suits of bugman armor that looks to be in the process of being fused to a victim.
The head sees you and in response coughs up a couple of large lumps of the meat-like substance that covers the floor and walls. The lumps sprout legs and fangs and chitter towards you.
"Preform for you masters monkey child, prove their work. Slay me, free me and answers to questions unthought will be answered.

Libertenn can still take a standard action.

Spider 4 leaps at Liberteen attempting to grab her, ATK: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14, and somehow misses her face. The spider lands in the corridor, hisses and bares it's fangs at the rest of the team.

It was at times such as this that Jo was quite glad that her cowl did an excellent job of making it difficult to discern her exact expression as at the moment it was one of extreme disgust over the horrifying meat-spiders, the creatures were disgusting to even LOOK at yet alone actually attempt to HIT as some of the others were already in the process of and it was in times such as this that Jo found herself thankful that she was not the sort to seek out physical combat.

The others would almost certainly be FAR more capable of dealing with the disguisting meat-spiders which meant she could forgo touching them in any manner in favor of providing aid to those that were most certainly in need namely the men and women imprisoned and most importantly the not-yet fused bug-armor. If that thing finished fusing then not only would there be meat-spiders but on top of that a 'bugman'

On top of that there was the big and equily horrifying face, the sort of thing she'd only seen in gore-y horror movies, thankfully if that particular line of thought was the case then killing it would most likely end all of this... or result in a horrible explosion that covers them in hundreds of meat-spiders. Jo was quite hopeful that it would be the former.

With all that in mind Jo decided it best to try and find a way to stop the fusing of the suit and with that she would dash forward doing everything in her power to avoid any and all meat-spiders and make her way to the lab table hoping to locate something that might be used to end or better yet reverse the process.

"meat-spider" is perhaps the single worst phrase i have had to write in a VERY long time.


Liberteen swings at the meat-spider that jumped at her missing as badly as it missed her.

@Cat - give me an acrobatics check DC25 to avoid the meat-spiders.

@Cat - Forgot about your wall crawling, it would give a reduction to the DC but not enough to avoid the spiders seeing you.

QNetic pulls the air from the head fatiguing it.
