Darthdy hatefully throws a flame after the fleeing boars and burns the sow's back. Seems like this druid doesn't love all of nature.

I love nature but I hate ungrateful boars.

Darthdy goes in the garden again and mourns about her flowers, vegetables and truffles. She needs some new flowers, vegetables and truffles and for this she has to go to Magnimar. She packs her adventure gear locks the door, places a sign "food to go for animals" and goes.

As Darthdy walks through the wood a spider ropes itself down from a tree. The timing is perfect to lond in darthdys face. Dows she have the reflexes to avoid this. Save DC 15

Darthdy sees the spider at the last moment and jumps back.
reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Darthdy grabs the spider and pets it.
grab: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
grab: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Darthdy try it again
grab: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Darthdy grabs wildly at the spider hanging from it's thread. The scared spider lets itself fall on the ground and runs away.

Sad.Darthdy countinue her walk to Magnimar.

How much empty space is there around and between the two destroyed houses?

Ok, so tear down those two buildings with the Golem, how long do we say that takes?

Also if you have roll20 working can you join my game so we can draw on the map?

Lets say if you flatten the houses and don't care about distances to the next buildings you can get 80 by 150 feet rectangular space.

The golem can kick at the house and it is going to collapse mostly. What you need is a lot of people carrying the remains away, or sorting them for recycling.

Have fun recruiting dozens of people, buying carts, shovels, pickaxes, donkeys, whatever you can think of.

Use the golem to break large pieces into smaller pieces.
Go stand outside the buildings with flats in them, blow my horn of pursuit, wait for people to freak out, tell everyone I will employ them to work for me building

That's fine. Write it out in as much detail as you like. Either as employing people for salary. Or more abstract as buying work and goods.

Well, shall we start applying downtime rules?
How many kids in the orphanage?
And how many people in the flats, total?

I said 30 people in the one building. We had 32 kids. You can decide how many people you want to house eventually.

Underbridge Population: 1,023 permanent, 602 itinerant

You have fun building your complex here with the downtime rules. I have fun reading your progress.

But now I have to go to bed again.
Good night.

Ok
This is going to be an orphanage for 32 kids then.
For this Orphanage we need:
4 x Bunks
1 x kitchen
2 x office
2 x common room
1 x Laundry
1 x Lavatory
1 x Infirmary
1 x classroom
2 x Garden
1 x storage
2 x bedroom

Costs are
4 x 400
1 x 160
2 x 120
2 x 300
1 x 120
1 x 120
1 x 370
1 x 250
2 x 180
1 x 120
2 x 300
Total: 4540

Jimmy can afford that after the sales and gold distribution.

I have done a rough map of design on the roll 20 game

Time for different rooms to build, up to you to decide what can be built consecutively:
Room Time in days
Bedroom 20
Bunks 24
Classroom 14
Common Room 16
Garden 12
Infirmary 16
Kitchen 12
Laundry 8
Lavatory 4
Office 8
Storage 8

Would you explain how you want to use the rooms? With our current personnel this seems to be rather tight.

A bunk room can sleep 10 people. 4 bunks for 32 kids. 2 common rooms. for meals and other activities. Kitchen for cooking. Storage for storing. Infirmary to look after any sick kids, or other sick people in the area. Offices for people to do stuff that needs some privacy. Bedrooms for 2 people to stay in, probably a nurse and a caretaker. Classroom to teach the kids

That's what I meant. We have more than two people working at the Orphanage right now. But maybe most of them sleep at home.

Well I also plan on building a housing complex next

How about the building time. Do you take the maximum or do you add them?

I cant actually find the ruling on time.

Then we make one:
There are things that need to be done in an order. Like building the sewer before building the lavatory. Such things are added. Everything else can be done in parallel if you get enough workers. Until you build a second floor. Then everything on the first floor has to be finished first.

Where do I take a look at you roll 20?

CONSTRUCT BUILDINGS
You can use your downtime capital to create a building
that suit your needs, such as a temple, guildhall, or mage
tower. You construct a building out of component rooms
that allow you to configure the building exactly how you
want it (see Rooms and Teams on page 90).
How much capital you can spend per day is limited by
the size of the settlement you’re in (see Spending Limits
on page 80). Once you’ve spent the total capital and time
needed to finish your building, it’s complete and you can
use it immediately.

SPENDING LIMIT PER DAY
SETTLEMENT (GOODS, INFLUENCE, OR LABOR)
Thorp 2
Hamlet 4
Village 10
Small town 15
Large town 25
Small city 35
Large city 50
Metropolis 65

You only spend capital at the start. So, what size city is Magnimar?
Bunks 7 Goods, 4 Influence, 7 Labor
Total is 18.
Magnimar is apparently a large city so can spend 50 a day.
So I can start 2 bunks one day, and 2 the next, then the 2 bedrooms, and everything else filling in gaps in capital spending.

So Minimum is 25 days. You can decide it takes longer or shorter though

Roll 20

Large City.

Added extra lavatory for 120gp:
Total: 4660

Adding a:
DEFENSIVE WALL
Create 5 Goods, 2 Influence, 5 Labor (260 gp); Time 12 days
Size 20–40 squares
To secure the garden

Total cost now goes to : 4920

If you go to roll 20 you can check my layout

I already did. Looks good with the colors in again. All the brown lines are doors?

Indeed

Cost goes from 4920 to 4920 + 3 * 180 = 5460
With addition of 3 gardens

All gardens replaced with 1 farmland.

5460 - 5*180 +600 = 5160

4 x Bunks
1 x kitchen
2 x office
2 x common room
1 x Laundry
1 x Lavatory
1 x Infirmary
1 x classroom
1 x farmland
1 x storage
2 x bedroom

4 x gp or Labor +8
1 x gp or Goods +4
2 x -
2 x gp or Influence +7
1 x gp or Goods +3
1 x saves
1 x gp or Influence +8
1 x capital +8
1 x gp or Goods +10
1 x gp +2
2 x gp or Influence +3

Labor = 4*8 = 32 = 4 per day on take 10
Influence = 2*7 +8 = 22 = 3 per day on take 10
Goods = 4 + 3 +10 +8 = 25 = 3 per day on take 10
Magic = 0
GP = 2 = 0.2 = 1.2 per day on take 10

4 x Bunks (400)
1 x kitchen (160)
2 x office (120)
2 x common room (300)
1 x Laundry (120)
2 x Lavatory (120)
1 x Infirmary (370)
1 x classroom (250)
1 x farmland (600)
1 x storage (120)
2 x bedroom (300)
1 x defensive wall (260)
1 x bath (130)

Total = 5290

Build time calcs:

1 x defensive wall (12)

1st Floor:
4 x Bunks (18)
1 x Lavatory (6)
2 x bedroom (15)
1 x bath (6)

Ground floor must be completed before 1st can start.

Will now attempt to optimize the build queue

I believe I have the best schedule. Will take 42 days.

Day 1:

2 common room
1 lavatory
1 infirmary

Day 2:
1 defensive wall
Ground Floor:
1 kitchen

What about influence and goods?

Not interesting as I have no influence and goods. I only listed labor to see if I could save some money by replacing labor with followers. But that would only make a difference of 100gp. So I left it out of the final calculation.

In case you didn't guess it already. Abomentolor takes leadership too.
