Watcher Uatu |
Dr.Frennel responds "I don't really know much about the Starstone except that it is a powerful device. Even if someone passed the test I suppose taking up a certain portfolio as a deity would be required."
Draven chimes in "I got the wagon fixed, and I am about to pull the horses out of the general store. We might want to get moving as soon as the last body is buried. Oh, I did find this wand, but I don't have the ability to use it."
He then goes to retrieve the wand from another building.
It is an empowered wand of cure light wounds with 25 charges that heals 1d8+3.
Haundo |
Haundo returns with the puppy in hand, his armored bulk is easily heard as he doesn't try to be quiet. His helm is still up and doesn't take notice to any pointed stares at his strange facial features. He points to the buildings around them as he approaches the little girl. "Has all of these been cleared out? I don't want to leave one of them behind. Best we crush them before they gather again..."
He gives the little girl a small toothy grin as he kneels and presents her with her missing companion. "Safe as I promised, a Nightwatchmen never fails."
Dagor Boilkar |
Dagor, without hesitation, picks up his axe over his shoulder and asks which one that would be. Upon direction, unless someone stops him, Dagor goes to check the one building they did not check. "Let's give it a look, then. After that, we head out, right Professor?"
at the courthouse/jail
Approaching the building, Dagor slows to a cautious pace. The ensuing silence is broken by a mild chuckle by him. Reminds me of Saggorak. Always seemed to hide in the last hole left unchecked. Used to sweat like a furnace blower boy back then. Hope there is something in there. Alive and grateful or dead and soon to be just that again. If anyone is there with him, he speaks softly. "Unless you have one of those detect undead spells, follow me in. Expect that they're just drooling in there, itchin' to have a bite of us." He moves next to the door, just offset to the right side of it. Waiting about eighteen seconds readied to strike undead that may emerge, he listens before checking inside.

Andreas Merona |
Andreas a bit slow after looking at all of the bodies now in the pyre and thinking if the power of the Starstone might stop this.
Something gets his attention, one building still might have these abominations in it. He see Dagor grab his weapon and head toward the Jail Andreas follows in silence.
Andreas looks at the building knowing that they will find something horrible inside. Prisoners that had been left inside eating each other making a nice nest. He draws his Rapier, whispering back"I have no spells to check, but I have a bad feeling that they are inside. He readies himself to follow Dagor inside.
I need more useful spells, LOL.
Grey, the Lady's dog |
"Have we checked the exterior of the building? We should make certain there are no additional means of escape for the things."
Pausing for a moment to consider his own words. "Of course, they have seldom seen need for such before..."
Haundo |
@Everyone: Haundo can peer through closed doors, like clairvoyance, 4 times per day. So long as the doors aren't 7 inches think he can perform this ability. So we can do some scouting without exposing ourselves.
Haundo hands the girl back her puppy and follows everyone over to the jail. He reiterates his ability to see through doors in case the others had forgotten in their long travels, before circling the building for anymore entry's/exit's.
Huando is going to search for other ways in and makes sure either their barred or clear before following the others. He is currently armed with his pistol and is ready to defend himself.
Haundo |
@Watcher: I am assuming this is on the otherside of the door everyone is standing by?
Door Sight: 3/4 remaining for the day
It takes Haundo about a minute to detach his spirit, to the others it looks like his eyes take on a dead like stare, totally unfocused as he continues to place his hand on the door. In his spirit like state he passes through the door head first and growls silently as he looks around the otherside in search of possible enemies. After about a minute of looking he nods his head in satisfactory and slips quietly back into his body.
He stands, albeit shakily, as he looks to the others. "Weapons, lots of them scattered on the otherside. Good quality too. May be other things in the piles, so watch your step. Other then that I saw nothing else..."
He keeps his pistol out and, when the door is opened, plunges through the gap Bulwark first and his pistol aimed through the viewport in case he made a mistake.
Time to loot some stuff and arm those NPC's with better weapons :p
Dagor Boilkar |
"If the key we're lackin', then I get to smashin'! This is why you shouldn't build locked doors out of wood. Stand aside." He takes a breath, and begins battering the door with his warhammer two handed, intent to whittle it down with repeated blows.
Assuming its a heavy door, hardness 5, 20 HP. Auto-hits, power attacks.

3rd round: 1d8 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (5) + 6 - 5 = 6 (17)
4th round: 1d8 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 5 = 9 (26)
Haundo |
Haundo, packs up what he can and elects to use the magical battleaxe for now in lieu of his well made axe. From there he follows the others and continues investigating the jail.
Was that all there was for the Jail? If so Haundo is going to begin systematically checking each of the houses, despite the all clear those caravaners gave them. Haundo has misgivings about not checking things out himself. I am sure this is going to land him in a heap of trouble one day. ;)

Uchendu Kybwa'ka |
Uchendu eyes the items that have been collected together solemnly.
"We should be careful with what we be findin' here; who knows when we might be findin' more supplies, with the world going mad..."
Does anyone wish to claim anything specific? Uchendu is not much of a combatant, so he will not claim any of the weapons, but he would be willing to carry the wands (although they would, technically, be party items), and the book.
Haundo |
Haundo continues to search each building thoroughly, electing to use the magical battleaxe because of the tight quarters in each building. He takes anything of use for his group or the refugees and piles it outside of each building.
i will continue to use my door sight to look through any barriers we run into, the last thing I want is to get dragged into a basement full of them.
Haundo |
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
The Absalom Nightwatchman moves inside the more important structures of the town, twirling the magical battleaxe expertly, as he looked for useful items or unseen enemies with the determination of a seasoned soldier.
Sorry guys for dragging this out if I am, just following what Haundo would do. If these things are spreading by inflicting injuries he doesn't want one left in a cellar or something before we move on. Besides we may find something new as well. :)
Haundo |
Haundo holds his ground and signal's the others, once he has someones attention he points at the jammed door and speaks quietly too them. "Three are beyond this doorway, one is wearing decent gear but they can't get out as the door appears to be jammed. I don't wish to leave them behind but they can wait until the other buildings are checked..."
Haundo shrugs these ones off as they are contained, for now, but finds it disturbing that the wagoners had made it seem they had checked the buildings already. His intuition had proven fruitful as they could possible contain what few zombies were left and help keep the menace contained. At least for now...
Haundo isn't going to attempt anything alone and if no one responds he makes note of the building by cutting three lines on the door followed by 'Do not open, Dead Inside' and continues searching the other buildings.
