Also, it's gonna be a while before I can post anything because this crazy lady who owns this IN HOME CARE business that I'm trying to apply with for this weekend job thinks she needs to know where I was born and grew up, what high school I went to, how much college education I have, something about my family, and my freakin' hobbies.

What the hell she need to know all that for? The education...whatever....but all that other stuff....what the damn hell?! What the hell am I applying for?! The CIA secret service caregiver association or some $hit? I mean...really?! REALLLLLY?!

So I have to go write a cover letter now for my resume.

Her cover letter almost sounds like professional trolling.

They usually wait to ask about hobbys until the interview. The type of questions they use to get a grasp on your character. One of those unspoken BS answers you're expected to give to make yourself more appealing as a candidate.

Personal Resume of Karen M. Fortuna

I was born Karen Michelle Stephenson on October 8th, 1975 to Joan and Aurther E. Stephenson at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in Arcadia California. I grew up in Temple City California in a middle class family. My father was a supervisor at a chemical plant and my mother was a stay at home mom and had her own in home day care. We were heavily involved in church activities and participated in the Awana Program as I was growing up. I never really had very many friends because I found more companionship with books than I did with people. I loved to read and play with science and craft activity sets and grew up watching I Love Lucy, Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow, and Sesame Street. Mr. Rogers was my favorite though because he taught us that "You're okay just the way you are." and I think that's something that lots of kids never get to hear anymore.

I went to High School at Rosemead High School in Rosemead California and graduated in 1994, despite being hospitalized and missing over half my senior year. I made it up doing Home Studies which my English Teacher Mr. Douglas helped me with, but I was going through the work packets so fast that they put me in independent study and I finished all the credits I needed to graduate like a month before graduation, so they just sat me in some classes for the last month because I had to be "physically present" in the class to graduate with my class. It wasn't the best time in my life, but I survived and became stronger. I had a lot of opportunities to grow as a person and become stronger, but I won't get into those.

I married my husband Henry Fortuna on January 28th, 2003. We have had a lot of trials but God is good and He has seen us through them. I believe that when there are problems in a relationship, you don't run away from it. You confront the problems and learn how to deal with them, no matter what it takes. There is nothing that God and Love can't fix. We moved to Arkansas after we got married because two weeks after we were married I fell and crushed all the bones in my right ankle and broke the tibia in half. All of a sudden we both had to quit community college and I was disabled and unable to take the job I was offered at Nordstroms, a large department store in southern California. My husband had to take a night job working at a 24 hour RiteAid in Glendale CA while I was in the hospital. We had to stay with my friends mom out there because we had no where else to go since I couldn't work and things are outrageously expensive in CA. Every morning that Henry got off work, he would go to the house, get a shower, get changed and take three buses to downtown LA where I was in the hospital at the UCLA Medical Center. He would spend all day with me, go home, take a nap, go back to work and start all over the next day. He did this the entire two weeks I was in the hospital after my surgery. I was not the easiest patient in the hospital to deal with and I was really angry at myself for ruining our plans by getting hurt. The nurses all loved Henry and told him repeatedly that he had "the patience of Job". He really is a wonderful man and I thank God every single day that He brought him into my life.

I have two older sisters and two older brothers. Robert 59, Gary 57, Joy 55, and Donna who just turned 53 not that long ago. I'm the baby at 42 years old, I was a "surprise". My father is 84 years old and my mother is 83. They have been married 61 years, but it will be 62 on August 30th. I just hope that Henry and I will have just as many years as they have...maybe more, but we didn't get married as young as they did either. My family is very important to me and they live in Northeast Arkansas, so if something happens to them I have to go to them. I'm just letting you know that now. My dad has already broken his shoulder, and my mom has a fractured spine so even though they're still doing pretty well...they need me from time to time. While we're talking about my parents, they will be coming down for Mother's Day weekend so I won't be available that weekend since they stay with us and go to church with us. I also have to direct the music for our Church that Sunday like I am this Sunday because our music director is out after having very painful surgery. The only sibling that lives out here is my sister and she lives in North Little Rock in Rose City and has had her car shot at, so they don't like staying there over night. I guess you could say that other than God, my family is the most important thing to me and I would do anything for them that they ask of me. When I was younger (early 20's, before CNA license) I was going to community college, working, and had friends in California, but when they called me and told me that they needed me to come to Arkansas because my grandmother was ill and they needed my help caring for her, I dropped everything and came. Before meeting Henry I had been back and forth between CA and AR several times. When I broke my leg we couldn't support ourselves in CA, so after I had healed enough we moved back and lived on my parents property for a while until we got back on our feet. That's how we ended up in Arkansas in October of 2003 and we've been here ever since. We've lived in Little Rock at our current location for almost ten years now. We live in an apartment for right now, but we hope to one day have a house and hopefully be able to foster and eventually adopt a couple of children since we haven't been able to have any of our own.

The point is, I come from a very loving and supportive family that have been there for me through a lot of stuff, so I am there for them now as much as I can be with them living almost three hours away from us. They're happy though and we're not going to make them move out of the house that my father built with his own hands just to make it more convenient for us. When that time comes, we will care for them there.

I used to have a lot of hobbies. I liked to skate, ski, roller blade, ride a bicycle everywhere, hike, rock climb. I loved the outdoors and visiting with family in other states where we could go fishing and swimming in rivers. After crushing my ankle I wasn't able to do a lot of those things anymore, but I refused to give up horse back riding. It's one of the things I love to do. I go as much as I can....but we really haven't had the time and it's hard to get my husband to go anymore since he got bit really bad by one he was riding while we were on vacation one year a long time ago in Mexico. We took a cruise and went on a horseback ride through some "Myan Ruins", but all his horse wanted to do was eat grass and every time he tried to get it to go it would bite him in the leg. The bruise lasted for weeks and I haven't been able to get him on a horse since then. We still go hiking together when the weather is nice, but I just can't do the really really rocky trails. One of these days I'd really like to go to Petit Jean and hike around there. I still love to read, and sometimes play computer or video games with Henry. We don't really go out a whole lot and are not into the "bar scene" or whatever. We like to just sit at home and be together, and that's my most favorite hobby of all.

That's all I can really think of for right now. I hope it helps.

That was the cover letter in it's entirety. If she wants it...by God I'll give it to her. I guess it's also because her office is in her home and she wants a grasp on who I am as a person before letting me into her house. It took forever for me to get her to give me her dad gum address. I guess I can understand it though....she's putting me in a house with people and wants to make sure of what kind of person I am. I hope she likes the TEN letters of reference I got my freinds to send her. LMAO

It doesn't help that I did this while super tired after working while hurting all day.

lol

It's basically screwing with them. Like imagine if someone said they needed to be updated on what you were doing, so you decided to call them every ten minutes to tell them what you were doing.

That's trolling. Like punishing someone for asking a stupid question, with an avalanche of information.

Female Skinwalker Barbarian 4/Champion 2; HP: 60/65; AC: 17/18 (in beast form), T: 13; FF: 14; Fort: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +1, Init: +7, Perception: +7

Well...I just did it again then. LOL I guess it's one of those things that I'm so good at doing that I don't even know that I'm doing it. The woman just responded to my cover letter at like 11:30, and asked how my ankle was "NOW"? and where Henry was working....so I told her. I told her about the surgeries and that yeah it hurts, but it don't stop me...but I was a little more thorough in my explanation of course. I wouldn't want to confuse the poor dear. LOL

But see...this is just how I am. I've never been good at explaining things simply cuz my brain just don't work that way. So what is "trolling" to everyone else...is just normal for me. Hehe....

I also told her that I asked 10 people to write her letters of recommendations, just in case some of them didn't get my message and let her know that she should start getting those soon. LMMFAO *innocent smile*

Sorry my schedule is flipped for two weeks and I'm in training for most of the day with minimal opportunity to post.

I feel you on that. Schedule swap with no prep is no fun at all.

Updated the Pinterest page. Enjoy.

I just mean that he seems all proper and educated and evr'thing. Lol Forget the troll stuff....that lady is plain bonkers and I ain't workin' for her. There has got to be something out there that doesn't require me working for insane people...isn't there? It's not my fault I can't do harsh physical work anymore.

I couldn't remember if I told you guys what happened or not....but there it is. I'm sorry...I'm just really tired, and hurting.

Aleister, Ravan, quick question: What Deities do you worship?

Probably Noticula.

As much as I enjoy Ravan's exploits, I don't wanna hold everyone back while my schedule is all flipped for the next week and a half. Maybe a fade to black this time so we can move forward.

I think it's a perfect picture and that you should post it on our board, unless you find one that you like better. It took me hours of searching on Pinterest to find one for Henry's character that he liked.

Fairly certain I mentioned it last time we tried Wicked.

No Pirate to seduce with this time. Interested to see how this plays out.

So, bit of a question that I figured I'd better ask before things get too far, do any of you have any long term plans for your characters?

Or, to quote Hela, "What is your ambition?"

Some level of difficulty is to be expected, after all it wouldn't be any kind of challenge or fun if we could just walk through it. Just some of us weren't made for solving riddles or puzzles. I'm especially bad at it since my mind doesn't work that way, so my characters don't really think that way. I think I lack some critical thinking skills.
