Since Zeke has the scent and everyone seams to agree that we should move one, yell if you have anything you want to do.
Zeke continues to track whatever you're chasing and takes you further south. Walking at a brisk place you put the hills behind you after half and hour and comes out into an open plain. As you track across the plain along the trail closing in on a area where some of you remeber 3 small hamlets lay Vaslo and soon after Sir Gerard spots some silhouettes on the horizon. Some are small but they they are accompanied by a few higher ones.
Logen: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Vaslo: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Sir Gerard: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Sir Voldniq: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Darius: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Sir Gerard Paschal |
"Voldniq and Zeke, double time! Cut off their advance while we hit them from the rear. Assuming those shadows are orcs and golbins that is." Gerard says.
I'm assuming the lion and mounted person are faster than the silhouettes. They can ride/run around to the front of the group and stop them, while the rest of us run up and kill them.
Big OM |
Advancing it is then.
The group sets into motion. Sir Gerars, Darius, Vaslo and Logen head straight ahead towards the unknowns trying to close the distance. They are constantly gaining on them. In the mean time Zeke and Sir Voldniq headed to the right to circle around the group ahead of you. Their speed takes them faster to the right flank and everything seams promising. At this point Sir vouldniq notices that the taller creatures seam to small to be orcs and most likely are humans. As the man and lion comes into the line of sight of the creatures the smaller ones, properly goblins, stop and gesticulates at each other. They then yanks in something and the taller humans fall to the ground. The goblins then begin to fire arrows towards the two however missing due to the distance.
Let me known if this wasn't what you intended and we'll redo it.
Logen Baccus |
Can we get more detailed descriptions of the goblins and captives? I want to know if I can identify a leader (of either group), how well the captives look like they can fight, and how many of each group there are
"Ah bloody hell, hostages. Gorum guide my blade true..."
Logen stays low, using the grass to cover his advance and getting as close as possible so he can quickly attack
Stealth1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Perception (for anything unseen and also details on the group)1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Big OM |
The goblins are clearly focussed at Sir Voldniq and Zeke at the moment. The two are moving ahead as planned and are beginning to circle in front of the goblins, still staying out of range of the arrows.
The rest of the group continues to close in on the enemies. You still have quite some distance to go over an open field.
@ Logen - The grass isn't tall enough to use as cover, so you can't use stealth unless you can find some other way. You aren't close enough to make out the details you're asking about yet.
Logen Baccus |
Ah ok, full on charge then
Logen begins sprinting across the ground directly towards the group "Either way we're getting in there" When the goblins finally notice him, he picks the one that looks like the leader and bellows a bloodcurdling howl at time, still charging
Intimidate1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Big OM |
Sir Voldniq and Zeke completes their half circle and are now in front of the goblins some distance away though well without of range of their small arrows.
The rest of the group continues forward with haste. As you come closer on of the goblins notices you and call out. Two of the four goblins turn towards you with raised bows.
I think I haven't explained myself properly. You do not have a surprise round, you were made. For the battlefield please se below and feel free to revise your action.
Before we continue I would like you to consider what you want to do both groups are 150 ft from the goblins and you have them surrounded
Goblin initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Big OM |
Al right the intiatives have been rolled and you are 150 ft away. By my calculations it takes 2 rounds in light armour and medium armour and 3 rounds in heavy armour to close the gap. Please Let me know if you want to do anything besides heading straight forward? The goblins will properly fire at you 1 turn before you can reach them and then in initaitive order.
Vaslo, let me know from which distance you would like to fire your bow. And please remember to control Zeke.

Run until I'm in charging distance, and then charge the closest one.

Still running behind the others Sir Gerard runs towards the battle. Ending 30ft away, you can charge next turn. Logen and Darius charges the goblins from one side while Sir Voldniq and Zeke charges from the other side. Before the four reaches melee, Vaslo fires an arrow towards the goblins but ending short. Logen slices the aleft arm of one of the goblins while Zeke mauls another one severly. Darius and Sir Voldniq misses with their attacks. With only 3 goblins left they retaliate. This time Vaslo's shot connects as his arrow whistle between his allies hitting a goblin in the chest leaving it barely standing.
Darius fails to hit with his rapier
Zeke continues to attack the poor goblin finishing what was started last turn as its right paw bring the goblin down.
Sir Voldniq on the other hand fails to hit with his longsword.
Logen releases his fury on the goblin next to the corpse he made just a few seconds ago. This might be the only thing that saves the little creature for now.
The two remaining goblins retaliate both missing.
As everyone seams to pause for breath before assuming combat, Sir Gerards roar pierces the silence and one goblin departs this plane as his sword cleaves collarbone, ribs, lung and blood vessels.
Next round one goblin left, who'll get it and win the prise

"On to glory, comrads, do your best!" shouts Darius in an atttempt to rally his allies.
I'll start my Bardic Performance. Remember to add on a +1 to hit and to damage everyone. Vaslo and Zeke won't get it, but I don't think that it's a problem.
Big OM |
The lonely goblin dodges Vaslos arrow and afterwards brushes past the angry lion. Sir Voldniq doesn't fare any better and finally Logen manages to put the little monster down.
As the last goblin falls two humans stand up, A young man and a woman. Both look a little terrified at first and stays clear of Logen, they both have ropes tied around their necks. After a few moments the woman starts crying and the man says: "Thank you for saving us whoever might be. Praise Iomedae."

"Don't worry, we're the good guys!" Darius says.
Looking back at his allies, Darius says "We are the good guys, right?" in a hushed tone.
Looking back at the man, Darius says "Nah, I'm just kidding. We work for the crusaders. Where do you live? What were you doing out here?"
