Mind Blank is brutal, but there are some ways around it. The spell echolocation is not blocked by it. A ring of spell storing or something along those lines could let you cast it.

The reason it works is that it is a transmutation. Mind Blank protects against divination magic and objects.

Does blindsense not work?

Alaric the Barbarian wrote:

Blindsense does work but it still leaves the target with total concealment negating opportunity attacks.

What about blindsight?

Blindsight works but tends to be very short range.

It would have worked last fight I feel, I don't know exactly but you can get 30 feet with low investment into crafting.

Didn't you drop-to-ground your diamonds? How did you provide the material component for the wish spell?

It would have, had I thought about the implications of mind blank and see invis. I thought I was covered with see invis, so I didn't get many backups. I do have another idea for Theo though.

Lets keep the fights in the Gameplay, and the discussion in discussion.

As the next day arises the Arena Resets for the fight between Marv the Monk and Jadis, Queen of Charn.

Those diamonds were potential focuses for magic Jar. Wish requires a very large diamond. Those were relatively small ones. I wanted lots of focuses out there so it would not be obvious which one I Jared into. I PM'd Balancer the details before the match.

They also had magic aura cast on them to make it more difficult to determine which one I would have jarred into. The last thing I wanted was to have a Jar I was in sundered.

Jadis stands calmly at one end of the arena, her golden robes shifting gently in the breeze. On her shoulder the small owl hopes excitedly up and down as if it can sense the upcoming conflict. Seeing her opponent Jadis inclines her head ever so slightly, almost imperceptibly. She again cedes the initiative to her opponent.

Seizing this chance Marv appears to step forward, appearing adjacent to Jadis. He reaches out with his hands to grab hold of her.

Freedom of movement if active is suppressed as are magical bonuses to Escape Artist or checks to escape a grapple. You are also under the effects of dimensional anchor.

GM/Spectators:
Swift action Inescapable grasp.
Move action Abundant step. 1200' range Dimensional agility allows him to take remaining actions.
Standard action grapple. Free action to add Titanic armor enhancement to the cmb check.

Grapple: 1d20 + 39 ⇒ (18) + 39 = 57

GM/Spectators:
If unsuccessful, activate Step up and strike as a free action for 2 more ki.

For the GM:
I have PM'd you with two issues relating to the attack

Grand Lodge

Monk please make a will save.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
You also take the amount of damage shown and are shunted 100ft in a random direction.
Direction: 1d8 ⇒ 8
1-North
2-South
3-East
4-West
5-North East
6-North West
7-South East
8-South West

GM/Spectators:
Using horseshoe on the will save. Will re-roll with improved iron will if it fails. Do I get a spellcraft check to know what happened?

Will save: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40

Grand Lodge

As you are shunted out of the space, Jadis' form shimmers to reveal a rhino. You tried to DDoor into an occupied space.

Not just any Rhino, Ronnie is a large creature bedecked in adamantine full plate.

Can I get a description of Marv please, race, any obvious equipment etc

Marv is a middle aged human. Nothing in his hands, does not appear to be wearing armor or a shield, not holding any obvious weapons.

Marv sets his feet, his body appearing to turn to iron.

GM/Spectators:
Standard as move action: Iron body
Do I see Jadis anywhere? Just the rhino?

Jadis raises one slightly appreciative eye as she tries to work out what her opponent just did.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 34 ⇒ (6) + 34 = 40

This assumes it was an SLA

Not an SLA or spell

Does Marv appear to be flying in any way?

Marv appears to be standing normally on the ground

Grand Lodge

Monk, you do not see her anywhere, however there is still the tiny owl on the rhino's shoulder.

Is your turn done?

Grand Lodge

Distance shunted: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Times the number by 5 and that's your distance

Does Marv want to adjust his action given he was only shunted 10' away? If not I shall take my turn.

I would like to change my action since I was only shunted 10'

Marv takes a 5' step toward the rhino and attempts to grapple it.

Do you want to use the roll for grapple I had above, since it never happened, or should I re-roll?

My last post was awful, that's what I get for posting late at night. I can't delete it now, but I'm waiting on some location clarifications before and then I'll fix it with another post. It shouldn't really change the action I take though.

I am OK with that if our GM is.

Marv takes a 5' step toward the rhino and attempts to grapple it.
Got confirmation from andreww on positioning. Using the same roll and bonuses from above, per andreww. As a reminder, freedom of movement if active is suppressed as are magical bonuses to Escape Artist or checks to escape a grapple. You are also under the effects of dimensional anchor.
Grapple: 1d20 + 39 ⇒ (18) + 39 = 57

GM/Spectators:
5' step.
Standard action grapple. Free action to add Titanic armor enhancement to the cmb check.

For the GM:
I believe this would activate my contingency.

Grand Lodge

Jadis:
Yes

For the GM:
Do you want to narrate the outcome or should I?

Grand Lodge

Jadis:
Your effect, please narrate and include the spellcraft dc to figure it out.

As Marv strikes out at Ronnie the Rhinoceros his hand smashes into a solid barrier which you are certain was not there a moment ago.

If you can see invisible things or have blindsense:
A shimmering globe of solid force surrounds the large rhinocerous and tiny owl

Spellcraft DC21:
You just triggered a contingency spell

Spellcraft DC19:
Its a resilient sphere

Marv attempts a spellcraft check to understand what he is seeing.

SpellCraft: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27

How large is the sphere? Just the 10' to enclose Ronnie and the Owl? Is Ronnie also 2 squares tall?

It is only large enough to enclose Ronne and the Owl. Ronnie is a large creature. Let me know when your turn is over and I shall take mine.

Either way, Marv is out of actions for the round. Your turn.

GM/Spectators:
Free action: Activating step up and strike, on the off chance the sphere is dropped.

Inside the impenetrable globe the small owl hops up and down in excitement and once again casts a swift action spell turning both of them invisible (or maybe not...)

Spellcraft DC23:
Quickened Greater Invisibility

Jadis observes this new opponent and once again stops time.

For the GM:
Extended timestop again, please roll the duration where I cannot see it. I will do a set of round by round actions, some public, others not.

Timestop Round 1: Casts Greater Arcane Sight. The rest of her first round will depend on the information obtained.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

Grand Lodge

GM eyes only:

Duration: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8

From within the Timestop Jadis once again considers her new opponent. Examining him closely with her sorcery she contemplates how to deal with him. She could seek to immolate him like the last one but it is apparent he has enabled magical protections against elemental powers. That wont be enough of course but she determines upon only a light roasting with more pain to follow.

As time once again starts Marv finds himself on fire, immolated by six separate walls of fire. The resilient sphere is still in front of him and off to the side about 60' is a large glowing multi-coloured dome. Floating in the middle of the arena is a sphere of shimmering emerald light, it's centre about 20' above the floor.

Mechanics:

I sent an email to the GM with 10 rounds worth of actions attached to it (that being the maximum for extended timestop). I then checked the spoiler for the actual duration and have noted the effects here.

Wall of Fire 1: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (3, 4) + 20 = 27
Wall of Fire 2: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (4, 3) + 20 = 27
Wall of Fire 3: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (3, 3) + 20 = 26
Wall of Fire 4: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (6, 3) + 20 = 29
Wall of Fire 5: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (2, 5) + 20 = 27
Wall of Fire 6: 2d6 + 20 ⇒ (4, 2) + 20 = 26

The fifth and sixth wall force a DC32 will save or be dazed for 4 rounds, if you pass you must roll again.

Nothing else is visible due to the impenetrable smoke.

Spell slots:
Slots used:
4th: 4
5th: 2
6th: 4
7th: 3
8th: 2
9th: 3

For the GM:
I forgot to roll for the sticks, here it is
Sticks: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Is the rhino still in the sphere?

Spectators/GM:
Using his clover on each roll until used up.
Reroll the failure with Improved Iron Will.

Will Save vs Round 5/1: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (4) + 28 = 32
Will Save vs Round 5/2: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (9) + 28 = 37
Will Save vs Round 6/1: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (18) + 28 = 46
Will Save vs Round 6/2: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (1) + 27 = 28
Will Save vs Round 6/2 reroll: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (18) + 27 = 45

The rhino and owl both turned invisible at the start of my turn, it is unclear if the rhino is still in the sphere or not. How much of the fire damage did Marv appear to take?

Marv was affected by the fire somewhat. Not sure how obvious the amount of damage is, but he was damaged.

Just to confirm, Marv did not activate the iron body effect on his turn yes, you changed your action to try and grapple when you only got bounced a short distance? Also it is Marv's turn, I am not sure if you have anything which allows you to avoid being dazed or to act while dazed. If not let me know and I will take my second round.

Edit, I misread your turn, you are not dazed, although it said you were earlier

Just one last note, the multi coloured sphere is opaque, you cannot see if there is anything inside it.

Correct, iron body not activated. Sorry, I forgot I had a re-roll which saved me. Waiting on an answer from the GM on if blindsight can see into the resilient sphere.

Resilient Sphere acts like wall of force and blocks line of effect, I don't believe it would do so but it is up to him.
